A kick in the Zubkov

Matt Davies-Adams, Michael Cox and Sasha Goryunov are here as Wales arrive, Russia aren't Finnished, and Italy are livin la vida loca-telli. First to Baku where Wales are beaming after their 2-0 victory over Turkey, we ask if this was one of the most impressive performances so far As for Russia well they arrived too in St Petersburg and grabbed their first three points. Will a win be enough to see teams through to the knockout stages though? And Italy gain a load of backers after their dominant performance over Switzerland - but should we believe the hype? Elsewhere it's a big day for Denmark tomorrow as they play Belgium in Copenhagen. We speak with Danish commentator Niels Harild about the mood in the country. Contemplating the risky text

Matt Davies-Adams is in the hot seat in the company of Carl Anka and Daniel Storey after a dazzling Day 3 at Euro 2020. England exercise real control and relaxation in their opening game as they defeat Croatia at Wembley. A great day for Phillips and Mings as Southgate’s team selection is completely vindicated. And he can afford to not even use Grealish or Sancho. Netherlands and Ukraine contest the game of the tournament so far as the Dutch win 3-2 in Amsterdam. And an angry Arnautovic seals victory for Austria over North Macedonia. Which is more interesting than their kit or nickname. Scotland’s first tournament game in 23 years is against the Czech Republic on Monday. The most important game they’ll play in this group stage? And Spain and Sweden face off in Group E with Morata and Isak both looking to show their worth. RUNNING ORDER: • PART 1: England 1-0 Croatia (03m 30s) • PART 2a: Netherlands 3-2 Ukraine (19m 00s) • PART 2b: Austria 3-1 North Macedonia (23m 00s) • PART 3a: Scotland v Czech Republic preview with JJ Bull (29m 00s) • PART 3b: Spain v Sweden preview with Frida Fagerlund (39m 00s) • PART 3c: Poland v Slovakia preview (47m 30s) • PART 4: The odds with Paddy Power (50m 00s) • PART 5: On This Day – Pearce versus headbutts (52m 30s) SIGN UP TO THE ATHLETIC FOR £1 A MONTH FOR YOUR FIRST 6 MONTHS: • theathletic.com/totally GET IN TOUCH: • follow us on Instagram • find us on Facebook • send us a tweet: @TheTotallyShow PARISH NOTICES: • we’re sponsored by Paddy Power - home of the Money Back Special READ STUFF ON OUR WEBSITE: • check out thetotallyfootballshow.com. Traumatic and frantic

Jimbo, Daniel Storey and Tom Williams reflect on a day overshadowed by the dramatic collapse of Christian Eriksen. Denmark’s star man is thankfully in a stable condition after requiring CPR on the pitch against Finland. Away from Copenhagen, Belgium dismantle Russia and Wales are fortunate to escape with a draw against Switzerland, thanks to the efforts of Kieffer Moore and Danny Ward. But did Robert Page get his selection wrong? England v Croatia is the big game on Sunday. Juraj Vrdoliak tells us about a team in transition since the World Cup, while the FA once again clarify the meaning behind taking the knee. Plus a big day for North Macedonia and some bold predictions from De Boer. RUNNING ORDER: • PART 1: The collapse of Christian Eriksen (01m 00s) • PART 2a: Belgium 3-0 Russia (08m 30s) • PART 2b: The booing of the knee continues (12m 30s) • PART 2c: Wales 1-1 Switzerland (15m 30s) • PART 3a: England v Croatia preview with Juraj Vrdoliak (22m 00s) • PART 3b: Netherlands v Ukraine preview (32m 30s) • PART 3c: Austria v North Macedonia preview with Filip Mishov (36m 00s) SIGN UP TO THE ATHLETIC FOR £1 A MONTH FOR YOUR FIRST 6 MONTHS: • theathletic.com/totally GET IN TOUCH: • follow us on Instagram • find us on Facebook • send us a tweet: @TheTotallyShow PARISH NOTICES: • we’re sponsored by Paddy Power - home of the Money Back Special READ STUFF ON OUR WEBSITE: • check out thetotallyfootballshow.com. Romania Reaction: Another Underwhelming Win

Dan Bardell welcomes Florence Lloyd-Hughes and David Preece to the show for reaction to England's last warm-up fixture before the belated 2020 European Championships. It was another 1-0 win and it had plenty more in common with the Austria game as Gareth Southgate selected a side featuring mostly fringe squad players, some who won't make the final 26, but at least one who will. James Ward-Prowse will hope to take the spot vacated by Trent Alexander Arnold but Ben White could be a dark horse with Harry Maguire's fitness still a doubt. Jack Grealish has started the last two friendlies, providing dynamism and a cutting edge, and he is fancied by some to make the starting XI against Croatia. Sam Johnstone almost certainly won't feature, but he will be a reassuringly solid third choice between the sticks. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

England's Euro 2020 Squad Selected

The Athletic's Jack Pitt-Brooke & Carl Anka are joined by host Dan Bardell to discuss England's final squad selected by Gareth Southgate for EURO 2020. Why was Trent Alexander-Arnold chosen in the end following speculation that he wouldn't make the cut? How will England cope with players such as Maguire and Henderson who are not fully fit? We also hear from The Athletic's David Ornstein who broke the story of Jesse Lingard's omission from the squad and the panel will also share their thoughts on the other six players who were cut from the provisional 33. We'll also learn how England will shape up for their warm-up game against Austria without a host of first team talent. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

Austrian Rumors, Galaxy loan loopholes, and The Queen's Gambit

- SUBSCRIBE TO OUR PODCAST: http://cornerofthegalaxy.com/subscribe/ - COG LA GALAXY DISCORD: https://discord.gg/drr9HFZY2P - COG MERCHANDISE (SCARVES, T-SHIRTS, BUTTONS, COASTERS): http://www.cornerofthegalaxy.com/SHOP COG STUDIOS, Calif. -- Oh, do we have a story for you! It involves Dennis te Kloese, the LA Galaxy, Boca Juniors, and a report that may mean the Galaxy got Cristian Pavon without a loan fee. Hosts Josh Guesman and Eric Vieira join on a day that was supposed to be filled with drama. Instead, Major League Soccer extended the lockout deadline by 24-hours. So instead of counting down the minutes until MLS canceled the CBA and locked out the players, we're giving you a news dump worthy of a busy week of Galaxy announcements. We'll discuss some changes in the Galaxy's front office, and we talk about a goodbye from David Bingham. Can you put Bingham's time with the Galaxy into perspective? And do the stats change your opinion of the club's former goalkeeper? Plus, will the loan deal for Diedie Traore end up working out in his favor? Or will the club put him on loan and never see him come back to the club? There's some nuance in this loan, so give it a chance! Josh and Eric will also discuss the Galaxy's rock star coaching staff and why the weakest link will be one of the Galaxy's greatest all-time players. Does getting the band back together do anything wrong for the club? Or will it still take winning to get this team pointed in the right direction? The guys will push through the middle of the show with some disappointing news from Adidas about a possible third kit, and we'll make sure we dive into all the details on why General Manager Dennis te Kloese might be up for an award. Did he pull one over on Boca Juniors? God, let it be true for the laughs! To close out the show, the guys talk rumors -- Sergio Aguero and Husein Balic -- and give you the latest on MLS and MLSPA. Surely the CBA talks will change by the time you listen to this show, but we talked about them anyways! We've got a big show for a big Thursday night. Thanks for listening to us! Now, watch some Netflix or something!
