Hosts Dan Bardell and George Elek are joined by bet365's Steve Freeth to preview (what's left of) the weekend's Premier League action, as Covid outbreaks continue to disrupt the festive fixture calendar... Has 'Auba-gate' actually galvanised the Arsenal squad and can they take their impressive home form to Elland Road on Saturday? How much Kane would be worth if he tried to engineer another move away from Spurs in January and more on KdB's frighteningly good return to action. Plus, why Gareth Southgate MUST find a way to get Trent Alexander-Arnold into his England team for the World Cup next year. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

A Tom Cruise, cruise, a skinny Lletget Trade, and a Galaxy Schedule for 2022!

- SUBSCRIBE TO OUR PODCAST: http://cornerofthegalaxy.com/subscribe/ - COG LA GALAXY DISCORD: https://discord.gg/drr9HFZY2P - COG MERCHANDISE (SCARVES, T-SHIRTS, BUTTONS, COASTERS): http://www.cornerofthegalaxy.com/SHOP COG STUDIOS, Calif. -- The LA Galaxy were making headlines across Major League Soccer this week, and we want to talk about it. Sebastian Lletget has moved to New England, and Sacha Kljestan will stay in LA, but are you getting a warm and fuzzy feeling from the moves? Hosts Josh Guesman and Sophie Nicolaou are back to get you updated on some very big moves by a Galaxy side that seems to have a plan in mind as they offload players and gather some money in the process. They'll start with the re-signing of Sacha Kljestan, who seems to be a value-added type of player. So what did the Galaxy get with Kljestan? And can they afford to add another name like Victor Vasquez as well? But then Josh and Sophie want to get into the Galaxy's trade with New England for Lletget. Can the Galaxy afford to trust the Revolution and Bruce Arena in this deal? Why are the Galaxy dealing with Arena and Lletget? Did he want to go to New England? And did the Galaxy get the value you expected from the trade? Josh will break down the mechanics of how the Galaxy get paid and when they get paid and then tell you what the perception of the deal is in some circles across the league. Will the Galaxy ever get $1.3-million out of the Revolution? And when could they see that money if they did? Next, our hosts talk about the Dan Steres trade details and why it's probably more of a wash than we initially thought. Does that make you feel better about offloading the defender to the Houston Dynamo? Finally, there's some schedule talk before Sophie tells stories of Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman, and then name drops about ten more celebrities. She's the most interesting person in the world for a reason. She just stays bottled up! We've got a fun show for you with only one more episode left this year. Are you ready to ring in 2022? Better question: are the Galaxy?

Desperate karmic reach

Jimbo, Daniel Storey, Adam Crafton and Flo Lloyd-Hughes engage in a race against time to produce a football podcast that isn’t immediately completely out of date. With Premier League clubs registering a record number of positive Covid cases and games postponed, is it time for a circuit breaker? And why is this the worst time for that when it comes to the TV rights holders? There’s plenty of midweek action to feast upon as Man City destroy Leeds 7-0. Are we in Bielsa’s last season at Elland Road? And is he the best manager for a relegation battle? Plus the ludicrously inconsistent Arsenal are 4th and is James Ward-Prowse one of the best free-kick takers in Premier League history? The panel pay tribute to the retiring Sergio Aguero. And Flo gives us a half-term report on the WSL and the details on their lucrative new sponsorship deal. RUNNING ORDER: • PART 1a: Time for another circuit breaker? (02m 00s) • PART 1b: Man City 7-0 Leeds (08m 30s) • PART 1c: Arsenal 2-0 West Ham (19m 30s) • PART 2: Sergio Aguero retires (31m 00s) • PART 3: The rest of the Premier League midweek (38m 30s) • PART 4a: What may be happening this weekend (46m 00s) • PART 4b: Half-term report in the WSL (51m 00s) Hosted on Acast. CL Draw Fiasco & Bellingham Linked to LFC | The Redmen TV Podcast

Trades gone wrong? Did the Galaxy make the right moves with Steres and Zubak?

- SUBSCRIBE TO OUR PODCAST: http://cornerofthegalaxy.com/subscribe/ - COG LA GALAXY DISCORD: https://discord.gg/drr9HFZY2P - COG MERCHANDISE (SCARVES, T-SHIRTS, BUTTONS, COASTERS): http://www.cornerofthegalaxy.com/SHOP COG STUDIOS, Calif. -- The LA Galaxy had a relatively busy half-day trade window Sunday morning. They moved two players who probably weren't going to make a big splash in 2022 for the club and would have struggled to get playing time. But did they get all they could for them? Or was something else going on? On today's show, host Josh Guesman goes without Kevin Baxter (He's on a boat!) and discusses the Galaxy's trade of Dan Steres and Ethan Zubak. There are a lot of questions that come up when we see the results of these trades, but perhaps there's a good reason the return on these players was less than expected? Josh will start by going over his views of a rather unimpressive MLS Cup. Sure the highlights will show a great game, but the playoff format seems to be the enemy of good soccer. Why was this year another "year of the asterisks?" And why does MLS need to fix this problem with growing US popularity? Then Josh will discuss the upcoming expansion draft and why it's not a shopping list for teams looking to add or get rid of pieces. Sure the Galaxy are exempt from this year's festivities, but will Charlotte find some former Galaxy players unprotected? And the Galaxy will find out their full 2022 schedule on December 15th! But the bulk of today's show is to talk about the trade of Steres and Zubak and why the Galaxy may have done the best they could. Or maybe they tried to make a deal that kept the player in mind. Either way, the Galaxy are opening up space on the roster, and if they want more new faces, it's the only way to get it done. Plus, is Sebastian Lletget eyeing Miami instead of New England? And what new rumors popped up just before the show. Do they even make sense? Welcome to CoG show number 900! Thanks for hanging around with us! We're glad we could keep you entertained!

Tardy Aubameyang, Sterling's Century & Gallagher's Ceiling

Joe, Seb and JJ reconvene, following yet another man-of-the-match display by Conor Gallagher, to analyse his influence on a team he probably won't play for, for much longer... They also reflect on the latest stand-off between Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta and their club captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, why Raheem Sterling has managed to score 100 Premier League goals - despite not being a striker - Plus, why it's a surprise that Dwight McNeil is still a Burnley player.
