Kelechi Iheanacho bags another, Arsenal’s benevolent billionaires, and Spurs’ next coach

Death, taxes and Kelechi Iheanacho netting in 2021: only one of those gives us that tingly feeling. Marcus, Pete and Vish jump on Leicester’s wholesome hype train, calling at all stations to the 2021/22 Champions League. We also concern ourselves with Arsenal’s new altruistic suitors, who include a tech billionaire and an Invicibles tribute act. Elsewhere, Spurs’ prime targets opts for Bayern Munich and Eric Cantona kung fu kicks for Hall of Fame glory. Roy Hodgson the robber, Zlatan's longest summer, and Joey Barton’s army

Like a wise old panther used to a heist or two, Roy the Boy comes away from the Amex with all three points. Vish and Pete have the unenviable task of trying to restrain Jules on today’s Ramble! We look back at the smouldering wreckage last night but also look ahead to better times: being together in the summer, sharing in England’s latest catastrophe and listening to Zlatan Ibrahimović’s concert while our eardrums bleed. Lovely. Elsewhere, we check in with Sunderland’s new infant owner and some concerning developments in Bristol where Barton is mobilising an army… Search ‘Football Ramble’ on social media to find us, and email us here: [email protected]. ***Please take the time to rate and review us on Apple Podcasts or wherever you get your pods. The Preview Show: The Bundesliga’s return is confirmed, Iniesta babies and Goal 4?

Football is BACK! In Germany. On May 16th. The Bundesliga have confirmed their plans to resume the competition, not without some controversy, and we’re all looking forward to seeing some live football again. Away from that actual news we have a very salty show today, inspired by Andres Iniesta and his baby-making goal against Chelsea in the Champions League in 2009, which apparently led to a spike in births 9 months later. This week he had video chats with some of those kids. Is that weird? That seems weird. Elsewhere Gary Neville shows that he’s even a tough but balanced pundit when defending his city from disgruntled ex-Man United players’ wives, Alan Pardew reveals his bafflement at Dutch players wanting to know what to do on the pitch and Kuno ‘Santiago Muñez’ Becker wants to right the wrongs of Goal 3. Steak and Barry pie: England march on, the Premier League returns and Carlos Tevez continues his reign of terror

England’s 1-1 draw was so promising that known misog Pete Donaldson is getting excited, even if he does also treble down on a pre-existing gripe. To temper this excitement Aleksandar Mitrovic remains aflame, Carlos Tevez continues his exemplary professionalism and Arsene Wenger pipes up about some new isms. On top of this we welcome the Premier League back into the fold, we hear from some trustworthy Barrys and there’s a treat from the Neil Warnock archives. Rafael the Gaffael: Spurs win in the Wembley snow, fears for Chelsea as they visit the Etihad and Liverpool vs Newcastle promises goals…

Both snow and goals fell heavily at Wembley as Spurs march on in the FA Cup, Burnley and Everton brick up their nets and scoff at the very idea of something as fancy as scoring, while the lucky boys of Liverpool look forward to a visit from Newcastle. Elsewhere Pete faces a difficult choice between two of his great loves, we witness the beginning of a family feud, and request your tales of footballers at weddings.
