The new MLS season is only three weeks old but we're already entering a bye week. That may or may not be a good thing for Vancouver Whitecaps, who have slumped to their worst ever start to a MLS season. But are the signs of turning it around there? That's one of the many things we look at in this latest AFTN Soccer Show. We pick over the bones of another defeat, as the 'Caps lose 3-2 in Houston. There's another controversial penalty to discuss, and some less than stellar player, passing, and penetrative performances. With an international break looming, the action continues in Vancouver as the Canadian men's national team come to town. We look ahead to Sunday's CONCACAF Nations League qualifier with French Guiana, the make up of the squad and how they may be utilised, and we hear from head coach John Herdman about the match, the Gold Cup, and the state of the program right now. Plus we look at the weekend's action in the MLS Western Conference, chat about the poor MLS crowds we're seeing around the league, and this week's Wavelength is from Halftime Oranges. Here's the rundown for the main segments from the episode:03.31: Houston Dynamo v Vancouver Whitecaps analysis33.15: Coaches audio - Marc Dos Santos and Wilmer Cabrera39.25: More Houston v Vancouver chat62.00: MLS West Week In Review and MLS attendance discussion87.59: John Herdman conference call and Canadian Men's national team discussion116.33: Wavelength - Halftime Oranges - Terrace Girl119.55: BC Soccerweb Headlines - football news from around the world in partnership with BCsoccerweb.com

No MLS Playoffs this week because of an international break, but that did not stop the American soccer world from getting messy as hell. We discuss all the Jermaine Jones drama like we belong in the TMZ offices. We also discuss the most important match of the weekend, Cuba vs Dominican Republic. We watched it. You watched it. Your whole family watched it. Now let's talk about it. Segment 1: Our dad Oscar Pareja has left FC Dallas and broken our hearts. It’s an eclectic line-up for this episode of the Totally Football Show, with AC Jimbo joined in the pod by James Horncastle, Michael Cox, football finance expert Dr Tom Markham and former Monaco sporting director, Tor-Kristian Karlsen. We begin by wrapping up the events of the international break, with World Cup joy for Denmark, Sweden, Australia and Peru, tears for Ireland and Italy, and - perhaps most shockingly of all - signs of life from England in their two (goalless) glamour friendlies. After that post mortem, we turn our attention to the return of the Premier League, where the North London derby takes centre stage this weekend, hotly followed by the first meeting in a decade for José Mourinho and Rafa Benitez, and, just as excitingly, David Moyes’ debut in the West Ham dugout.Plus: a big Serie A preview; the World Crap; and a requiem for the fax machine.LIVE EVENT NEWS: • Just a fortnight to go until our London live show on Wednesday 29 November, and not that many tickets left, either. It's a crunch international break and Ramble HQ is stricken with World Cup fever, though there's bad news for Joe Hart and an exciting endorsement from Pete Donaldson, who yet again forgets where the email section is supposed to be. The boys also find time to round up as much World Cup qualification action as possible, from Faroe Islands to Syria and just about everything in between. Elsewhere Jose Mourinho's homecoming is typically humble and ENGLAAAAAAAND. Bowler hat. The Football Ramble, the original and best football podcast.
