The boys are back in town, just as some Vancouver Whitecaps are out of town. It's the Gold Cup break and the 'Caps have three weeks off. We recharged our batteries last weekend but are back to look at how the Whitecaps stand at this halfway(ish) point of the MLS season. What's been the highlights, the lowlights, and the major positives and concerns up to this point? With the 'Caps missing four key defensive pieces to Gold Cup duty with Canada, how will the team cope in some crucial games coming up at the end of the month? That's just one of the things we ask 'Caps coach Marc Dos Santos and Vancouver midfielder Andy Rose as we sit down for a couple of interviews with them. Plus there's lots of Gold Cup and Women's World Cup chat, and we bring you audio for Canadian men's national team head coach John Herdman and bring you a pair of interviews with two of the 'Caps Canadians, Max Crepeau and Russell Teibert. We also continue our 1979 NASL Soccer Bowl celebrations, and our Wavelength section this week pays tribute to Leyton's Orient's boss Justin Edinburgh. who sadly passed away this weekend. Another busy week is in the book and it was a rare winning one for Vancouver Whitecaps. At least on the pitch. Thankfully the 'Caps didn't have to send out any Mayday cries for help from Colorado, although they were made to work hard in their 2-1 win over the Rapids. We look back at that match, the main talking points coming out of it for the team and individual players, and have a quick look ahead to Portland coming to town on Friday night. We also catch up with Whitecaps right back Scott Sutter who took in Pacific FC's first ever match last weekend. We get his thoughts on the CPL, his friendships with Pacific head coach Michael Silberbauer and co-owner Josh Simpson, and chat about his own coaching plans and how it's making him look at games a little bit differently. We also look at the continuing scandals surround the Whitecaps off the pitch, plus we continue our 1979 NASL Soccer Bowl celebrations, look at the annoyance that was VAR in MLS this week, and Football Violence Awareness Month wraps up with The Men They Couldn't Hang in our latest Wavelength section.
