While the effort was there, the results were not. And the constant capitulation in the face of victory -- or more points -- has everyone pegging the Galaxy as the 15th-best team in the Western Conference. On today's show, hosts Josh Guesman and Kevin Baxter discuss the Galaxy's 3-3 draw with St. Louis and why Marco Reus, Gabriel Pec, and Matheus Nascimento showed up -- for the most part. Can the Galaxy get their offense going now that they scored three goals for the first time in 2025? Can the defense rise to the occasion? Or have Maya Yoshida and Zanka worn out their welcome? Let's talk about it all! -- Corner of the Galaxy is kicking off Season 17, just a few shows past number 1,200! And we can't wait to show you everything we've got in store for 2025! The LA Galaxy played a lackluster first 45 minutes that saw them gift the Columbus Crew a two-goal lead. While there was an adjustment at halftime, the Galax's offense remains their most significant issue. On today's show, hosts Josh Guesman and Eric Vieira discuss the Galaxy's loss to Columbus, the likelihood that they'll lose again in DC against DC United, and why no one but Vanney has any idea what his lineup for the Tuesday match against LAFC will be. Did a rotated lineup against the Crew cost the Galaxy? What needs to happen to start scoring goals? And who wasted their big chance to get some more playing minutes? We've got a crazy show. Even little Guesman makes an appearance because everyone needs a hug at this point!

No one in the stadium believed the Galaxy were going to score three goals. And that's a problem.

With long lines to get into the stadium in both the parking lot and entrance gates, the LA Galaxy were already burning goodwill. But to come out flat against a Dallas side that was intent on destroying you and having no reaction? That's not how playoff teams are made. And it's not how Champions react. On today's show, hosts Josh Guesman and Kevin Baxter want to break down the loss to Dallas. And even when the defense gives up three goals, the main focus will be on the offense. Because the Galaxy have proven to be a good defensive team, but they haven't proven to be a good offensive team. Josh and Kevin will talk about Boxing's big day at Dignity Health Sports Park and why the stadium over-extended itself. And why, if you were one of the people scrambling to get inside the stadium, you would have done better staying outside? And if Chicharito is slumping and bringing on Dejan Joveljic doesn't change anything, then you need to look at how you put them in the best positions. So who is going to make the angling balls, and who is going to make the run dictate the pass? The games are coming fast and furious now. The Galaxy will play Minnesota United midweek, Houston over the weekend, LAFC next week in the Open Cup, and then close out the month with Austin. So how does Vanney manage that stretch of games? And do the Galaxy have a problem winning the big games -- winning those that will move them up the standings? We've got a great show for you today. And you're going to want to catch every single word!

Winning Ugly. The Galaxy are turning the beautiful game upside down.

Or do they make teams play ugly because they're a formidable defensive challenge? Coming off of a 1-0 victory over one of Major League Soccer's top-ranked offenses, the Galaxy are creating their own defensive identity. And that means things aren't always going to look so pretty. But does that mean you can't be concerned about the offense? Because you probably should be. Hosts Josh Guesman and Kevin Baxter discuss the Galaxy's win over Austin against a team that hadn't been beaten at home all year. What do the 19 points from 10 games mean? And do you feel like there's some sustainability to the defensive record? Josh and Kevin will discuss the faltering Galaxy offense and why Javier "Chicharito" Hernandez, Douglas Costa, Efrain Alvarez, and Kevin Cabral all need to find the back of the net. And Josh will name a Galaxy player that doesn't get enough crap for not sticking the ball into the back of the net and could have seen the Galaxy easily walk past Austin. Plus, the guys will talk about the US Open Cup match with Cal United Strikers on Wednesday and tell you who's making an appearance for Galaxy, who hasn't been seen at the stadium for a very long time. Here's a hint: it starts with a "T" and ends with a "wizzle." If you know, you know. The guys have a packed show tonight, and they're delighted you took time out of your Monday night to talk some Galaxy with them!

LA Galaxy Ruin Charlotte's Party. Alvarez and defense draw early interest.

- SUBSCRIBE TO OUR PODCAST: http://cornerofthegalaxy.com/subscribe/ - COG LA GALAXY DISCORD: https://discord.gg/drr9HFZY2P - COG MERCHANDISE (SCARVES, T-SHIRTS, BUTTONS, COASTERS): http://www.cornerofthegalaxy.com/SHOP COG STUDIOS, Calif. -- A hush came across the largest crowd in a Major League Soccer game on Saturday night. And the reason for that hush was Efrain Alvarez. So is this the sign that Alvarez should finally be given the freedom to start? On today's show, hosts Josh Guesman and Kevin Baxter discuss the LA Galaxy win over Charlotte FC on Saturday night in front of nearly 75,000 people. But there are other topics to cover. They're going to talk some offense, some defense, and whether or not Julian Araujo is a believer in the darkest of arts. Josh and Kevin will start by applauding the effort and the result from the 1-0 win over Charlotte on Saturday. They're going to talk about Alvarez and his wonder-striker and why it's not like we haven't seen this movie before. Does that mean we need to see him starting? Does the injury to Vazquez put Vanney in a position to reward the 19-year-old? And how does Alvarez's game change when he's a starter? Plus, the Galaxy lead the league in shots and key passes, but they've only seen two goals hit the back of the net in 2022. Are you worried that Chicharito, Cabral, and Costa aren't producing? And how much does Cabral shoulder the blame for the poor finishing? But there's a bigger question about Cabral. Are the Galaxy not finding their Young DP? And the defense has been the standout through 180 minutes. What have Julian Araujo, Raheem Edwards, Nick DePuy, and Sega Coulibaly been able to do this season? And why are they the key to success? Finally, Josh raises questions about Eriq Zavaleta, Sergio Ramos, and Julian Araujo. And then he talks about charts. It's a pretty standard Monday. But the Galaxy could be on their way to club history.
