Berekum Chelsea players receive medical, psychological support after deadly robbery attack

Berekum Chelsea players are undergoing medical checks and psychological support following the violent robbery attack that claimed the life of striker Dominic Frimpong.The club confirmed that the team has safely returned to Berekum after the traumatic incident, with players and officials receiving care to support their recovery.In a statement, Berekum Chelsea said the squad arrived on Monday, April 13, using a bus provided by fellow Ghana Premier League side Bibiani Gold Stars.“The team has since returned safely to Berekum and is currently undergoing medical evaluation and psychological support to aid recovery from the traumatic experience,” the club said.Club officials added that the incident has deeply affected players, staff and the wider football community.Meanwhile, a delegation from the Inspector General of Police, led by the Bono Regional Police Commander, has visited the club to assure them that those responsible will be brought to justice.Police confirmed investigations are ongoing into the attack, which occurred on April 12 along the Ahyiresu–Kwame Dwumor Sreso road, and involved six armed men who opened fire on the team bus.
