Sandra Herrera and Lisa Roman prepare for the 2022 NWSL Season with a full Kansas City Current preview (2:11). While trying not to crack too many current water puns, they run through the roster starting with new head coach Matt Potter and new hires in Cami Levin as the General Manager. Sandra and Lisa label KC’s Biggest Roster Signings in the offseason, deciding between Sam Mewis and Lynn Williams, and name the most Detrimental Losses for the Current in sending Darian Jenkins to Orlando. With a lot of changes in the offseason, KC needs to rely on veteran leadership from midfielder Lo’eau LaBonta to bring the team together. The biggest burning question for Kansas City heading into 2022: Will the hype for KC Current translate to the pitch? Listen to hear the A3 projected finish for Racing based on the pre-season roster, new signings and biggest losses. In the second half of the episode, Sandra Herrera and Lisa Roman welcome Kansas City Current midfielder and defender Kristen Edmonds (30:53). Kristen discusses her offseason, spending time with her family back home in Jersey and now starting preseason in Florida with the Current. She discusses that despite the big changeover from last season in KC to this season, with new coaching staff, front office staff, the team is really hype and is very excited to see what the season brings. The team is hoping to build off of the end of 2021 season and grow with the new players in 2022.
