Jersey Swap S11 E8 - Threads in the USL w/ Brett Mullenix from KIT SZN

The clubs take some early time off for the sake of country. Time to take an international break and view the U.S. soccer landscape from 30,000 feet. As much as FC Cincinnati occupies a lot of our attention, the competitive environment has expanded greatly nationwide. Even in the Tri-State area has fortified itself since the MLS call-up. Lexington SC is splashing cash to challenge Lou City in USL Championship, Indiana’s Fort Wayne FC made the jump to USL League One, and Forest City Cleveland will challenge for Ohio in the 2027 MLS Next Pro season. So how do the lower leagues look in 2026, both on the pitch and on the hangers? We’ve asked Brett Mullenix from KIT SZN and The USL Show to give us his general glance at lower-league coverage and pick out his favorite kits from the USL universe. (We are, after all, the “Jersey Swap” podcast for a reason.) Running it Back with Maryland Bobcats FC

Support local extends to the soccer world during the pandemic. We last caught up with Evan Raimist, GM and Director of Operations for the Maryland Bobcats back in February of 2020. Covid-19 was a thing but it wasn't quite THE thing. But even with Covid dominating the world, the Maryland Bobcats have managed to have an incredible year and continue to create some buzz in the Montgomery County, Maryland area. Evan comes on to talk about their world class kits, their development academy, the Maryland Soccerplex, joining the National Independent Soccer Association (NISA), and of course, a bit of Everton.
