Berekum Chelsea are set to take a significant step toward normalcy with a planned return to training on Monday, April 20, 2026, in the aftermath of the deadly robbery attack.The decision to resume activities comes even as sections of the squad and technical staff continue to undergo medical and psychological evaluations following the traumatic events of April 12.The incident, which occurred along the Ahyiresu–Kwame Dwumor Sreso road in the Nyinahin District, saw armed assailants target the team bus as it journeyed from Samreboi to Berekum.The attack tragically claimed the life of Dominic Frimpong, who succumbed to gunshot wounds.According to the club as quoted by Citi Sports, a phased return has been deemed appropriate, with some players already cleared to rejoin training while others remain under observation.The approach reflects a cautious balance between restoring routine and prioritising welfare.In response to the circumstances, the Ghana Football Association has rescheduled the club’s Matchday 30 fixture to May 6, offering additional time for recovery.Meanwhile, police investigations continue, with two suspects, including an alleged gang leader, currently in custody as authorities work to bring those responsible to justice.
