An absolute snooze-fest against Salford won't stop us! Never fear, the Blue Moon Podcast is here to try and find the interesting bits of a dull game... Or, we might actually focus more on the other bits of news from the week. David Mooney is joined by City fan Ciaran Murray and, from The Times, Paul Hirst to discuss everything from the last seven days. In the news is James Trafford – he's given a couple of interviews about his situation at the club and the reaction has been very polarised... Should he have stayed quiet now that the transfer window is shut or did he actually say nothing that was a problem, given his lack of game time since he arrived back from Burnley? On top of that, it's time for Newcastle this weekend... as the title-race gets more interesting, following Arsenal's draw at Wolves. We'll get the views of Sam Dalling from the Newcastle podcast True Faith. And, on top of that, as James Milner looks likely to be the outright record-holder for players with the most Premier League appearances, we look at the four players of the top five appearance-makers who have pulled on the City shirt. ========== To get more podcasts or to listen without the ads, join our Patreon. In an effort to become podcasting's version of UK Gold, we're spinning it back and replaying the glory days of QK, every Tuesday and Thursday. This is: QK Reloaded. We'll be playing through our original episodes in release order. And this is... The incredible Mark Lawrenson. This episode was first published 16th October 2017. ------ Our guest this week did it all as a player; five league titles, one European cup, one FA cup, and three league cups, as part of one of the greatest Liverpool teams ever assembled. But it was with the BBC in the 90s that Mark Lawrenson came into his own as one of the most recognisable pundits of the embryonic Premier League; all while juggling a marketing gig for Guinness and the surely nightmarish role of Keegan's defensive coach in Newcastle's most attacking period. Plus, we find out what Gavin Peacock's been up to since he quit his own punditry career to become a Christian minister in Canada (no, really). Learn more about your ad choices. We begin talking transfers, and whilst Eberechi Eze looks likely to be on his way to Tottenham, the Alexander Isak saga continues as Newcastle look for necessary replacements. Next we discuss David De Gea’s possible return to Old Trafford. Whilst Charlotte considers De Gea a better shot-stopper than Onana, but still believes it to be an unlikely move. Elsewhere, we discuss the racist incident against Antoine Semenyo. Miguel talks about the importance of education outside of just football, and Charlotte praises how quickly it was dealt with. We also praise Man City’s resurgent start to the new season; Pep’s rebuild looks impressive after their opening game, but are City back?
