We’re so close to football! The Premier League watches on with interest as the Bundesliga returns with potential lessons for our own Project Restart. It could be June, with a list of “cultural changes” implemented. We’re not sure who is implementing them, but there are definitely a few people we’d like to see kept away from that process. There are also rumours, since denied, that Jose Mourinho has been trying to derail the whole thing as he continues his transformation into a Bond villain, Harry Kane being a lovely chap and a desperate plea from a listener who asks the age old question; can I have my ball back? What can £200m get you in the current climate? One Harry Kane, or one genetically modified, bionically enhanced everyman, transformed into a world beater? This is just one of the questions we attempt to answer today, as there seems like no better rational response to these persistent rumours about Kane upping and leaving North London. That’s not the only squabble going on though, the president of the Gabonese FA wants Pierre-Emerick Aubamayang to leave Arsenal, a man has been spotted flouting government issued advice to chase a picnic umbrella and it’s all kicking off in Scotland. As well as all this there is also, of course, our review of Soccer Dog 2: European Cup. Thank goodness we’ll never have to do that again. How are we going to get by without any football? With rampant transfer speculation of course! The rumour mill has increased production with everyone seemingly having decided that Harry Kane will be leaving Spurs on his behalf, Arsenal saying it’s “hard to rule out” a move for Jesse Lingard and Gareth Bale being targeted by Everton. We’ll take it. We also have time to learn about Troy Deeney once refusing to board a flight because Odion Ighalo didn’t pass to him, Alan Shearer’s abrasive telephone manner and a position unique to Germany; the Space Investigator. Updates on the potentially season ending injury for Steven Bergwijn, Harry Kane's potential comeback, how no Champions League will affect Tottenham's ability to overhaul the squad & thoughts on Mourinho's public criticism of Tanguy Ndombele. While at West Ham, chances came and went for The Hammers in defeat at The Emirates but there are positives to take having played a 4-4-2 again with Antonio & Bowen amongst those looking threatening. Long time friend and former roommate of both roosters, Tommy Heyboer, comes on the podcast to be sorted into his Premier League club. As with all of the sorting hat episodes, we talk about his soccer history and current interest, run through some of the American teams and sports he follows, and ask him what he already knows about Premier League (trigger warning for Brad: "Harry Kane is a twat" - Tommy Heyboer). We also lament Tommy's recently torn ACL. An injury that footballers can often relate to.

Injuries to Harry Kane, Marcus Rashford and Tammy Abraham have left Tottenham, Manchester United and Chelsea with a shared interest...

On today’s episode of Jules & Andy, we start by discussing the renewed injury woes for Tottenham and England striker Harry Kane. Having played 300 games at just 26, we discuss what Kane can do to protect the longevity of his career and wonder what José Mourinho can do to replace the injured striker as the rest of the season unfolds. Also, after some enlightening correspondence from our listeners, we discuss the mental strains placed on modern football managers. As they try to succeed amidst unprecedented pressure and scrutiny, we discuss how the football-watching public’s obsession with managerial personality can be so damaging to those at the top. We also get to some of your other correspondence! Sky Sports News north-west reporter Ben Ransom explains what a potential overhaul at Manchester City could look like if Pep Guardiola has his way and if Leroy Sane will be part of it. After Harry Kane and Moussa Sissoko joined Tottenham's growing injury list, the panel explore what players Jose Mourinho may look to add to ease the burden. They also discuss the effect Mourinho has already had on Spurs and how he will look to evolve the team. Oh to be 24. Our guy @nicodegallo (I love his handle) is just a delightful man to converse with. He tells us all about his experience with a press pass at the International Champions Cup games. He regales us with stories about how cool the Arsenal players are in person. Yuck. Then we talk about his beloved Man City and their amazing depth. The odd losses early in the season. What it's like to play down an early goal. Then a dive into the USMNT dungeon. And of course; delightful champions league banter. Eventually we talk about his favorite local squad and his experience at their playoff game (Philadelphia Union). It was wonderful. Brad, the main Rooster, also tacked on ten minutes at the end here. I won't listen to it until I hear it on the air so not sure what he ranted about. He did end with Harry Kane rant, which I heard while recording the song, and he sounded angry. We'll see.

An exhilarating North London Derby at the Emirates headlined a great weekend of football and we take a fond look back over starring roles from Granit Xhaka and Harry Kane, the pros and cons of Chelsea’s wobbly start to the season and Everton and Wolves playing out a humdinger of a ding dong. Segueing neatly on we also look at Swansea’s rout(ledge) of Leeds, a Sebastien Coates disaster-class and Eric Cantona’s latest role. This is the synopsis of the podcast. We love football. On top of that we travel back to the time of the superhero player manager again, and a new Ramble honour is created. The Football Ramble, the original and best football podcast.
