The most okay-est first kit? Plus, Galaxy going all-in on Costa?

*** DONATE TO LAURA ARANDA FUNERAL & OTHER EXPENSES LINK: https://gofund.me/8784705a *** COG STUDIOS, Calif. -- In a major kit store in London, England, the first realistic leak of the 2022 primary kit was revealed by an Irish LA Galaxy fan who was on holiday. This is how this season is going to go, isn't it? Hosts Josh Guesman and Eric Viera are back to discuss the Galaxy's focus on an injury-prone Brazilian struggling to cut it in the second division of Brazil. Do the Galaxy think they have found an overlooked diamond in the rough? And are they going for it hard? The guys discuss the risks and rewards of Douglas Costa and why he's going to have to find a way to convince Galaxy fans he wants to make a difference in LA. Plus, could a short-term contract make more sense even if it is worth close to $5-million? Josh and Eric also discuss 2022's plain-white-t and why the replica unearthed in London is probably pretty close to the actual design that is coming out. Will you buy it? Finally, the guys discuss Julian Araujo not making the Mexico bench against Jamaica, why the Galaxy probably gave away a whole bunch of money when moving Lletget so early in the window, and why Omar Gonzalez and AJ DeLaGarza are gracing the beaches in the South Bay as "Galaxy East" comes to SoCal for the preseason. Episode 494 - The AFTN Soccer Show (Canadian Men’s National Team Year In Review)

We're back with our first show of 2022 and what better way to kick off the new year than with another packed episode of the AFTN Soccer Show and another of our end of season reviews, this time turning our attention to the stellar year that was had by the Canadian men's national team.Canada started the year 72nd in the world in the FIFA rankings and they finished it in 40th, their joint highest ever which they also reached in December 1996. The national team played 19 matches last year. All of them competitive games, with not a friendly in site. Crazy really considering how little they've played in some recent years. There were 14 World Cup qualifiers and 5 Gold Cup matches, producing 13 wins, 4 draws, and just 2 defeats, both of those coming at the hands of traditional CONCACAF powerhouses of the US and Mexico and both of those came at the Gold Cup. Canada scored 55 goals, conceding just 11, with 16 different goalscorers.2021 was a great year, but hopefully it's just the start of even bigger and better things for Canada. We delve into all of that and a lot more, plus we chat with CPL coaches Bobby Smyrniotis, Tommy Wheeldon Jr, and Jim Brennan to look at how the success of the national team has driven an excitement locally for the CPL teams.

What's 'MLS Next PRO' for the Galaxy? Wingers, and selling Araujo and Lletget

- SUBSCRIBE TO OUR PODCAST: http://cornerofthegalaxy.com/subscribe/ - COG LA GALAXY DISCORD: https://discord.gg/drr9HFZY2P - COG MERCHANDISE (SCARVES, T-SHIRTS, BUTTONS, COASTERS): http://www.cornerofthegalaxy.com/SHOP COG STUDIOS, Calif. -- We're trapped between the offseason hitting full stride and MLS Cup. But that doesn't mean the league doesn't have things we need to discuss! And it doesn't mean the LA Galaxy aren't tracking a few rumors from both inside and outside the league. On today's show, hosts Josh Guesman and Kevin Baxter discuss the Galaxy's silent approach to the offseason so far and why MLS Cup's conclusion should jump-start a very short offseason. Josh and Kevin will start clarifying the Chris Klein rumors and why the Los Angeles World Cup Committee could grab some attention from the Galaxy's President. The guys will then "transfer" over to the Ilie Sanchez rumors and tell you that, while they were fake, it wouldn't be out of the realm of possibility. So should you stay awake at night dreaming of a 31-year-old midfielder after Jonathan dos Santos -- a 31-year-old midfielder -- kept you awake at night in 2021? Plus, there's word from Turkey (the country and not Josh's 9-pound Thanksgiving treat) that 26-year-old Tyler Boyd may be interested in joining the Galaxy. What would that mean for Greg Vanney's formation? And what could that signal to guys like Kevin Cabral, Dejan Joveljić, and Efrain Alvarez? Speaking of Alvarez and Julian Araujo, both get call-ups to Mexico's friendly with Chile. But why is Araujo harder to trade than Alvarez? Could the Galaxy ever replace Araujo? And if they had to put a number on it, how out of touch with reality is it? Finally, MLS is launching a new third division of soccer. Why is it just a suped-up reserve league, and why were the Galaxy wary of joining it when it was announced? Will they ever join? We've got a packed show for you on a Monday that we thought might be short. It wasn't. Enjoy!

Shopping for a DP, roster decisions, and te Kloese and Dos Santos depart Galaxy

We hope everyone enjoyed their Thanksgiving break, but we're ready to get back to LA Galaxy business. And there was a lot of business to decipher. On today's show, hosts Josh Guesman and Kevin Baxter (from Mexico) want to get you caught up on all the Galaxy news that dropped over the holiday weekend. An there's a surprising amount, even if the events themselves weren't unexpected. Josh and Kevin will start by discussing the departure of Dennis te Kloese to Feyenoord and why the Galaxy aren't blameless in his leaving. But will te Kloese have a legacy? And what would that legacy be? Plus, who will take over in the General Manager role, and why is a Technical Director different from a GM? Plus, the guys want to look at the announcement that Jonathan dos Santos won't be returning to the club in 2022. At 31-years-old is dos Santos a victim of poor systems or a body that couldn't keep up with MLS anymore. Josh and Kevin will then go over the roster decisions the club announced today and tell you why the Galaxy really didn't do much with their option declines and out-of-contract players. But shopping for a Designated Player has already started. Finally, the show will go over the offseason calendar that MLS released and tell you why the Galaxy get to take the 2022 Expansion Draft as a snow day. We've got a packed show that includes a wintery mix of Galaxy news and analysis. Are the Galaxy better off with te Kloese gone? Thanks for joining us!
