Podcast: Galaxy attempting to turn an incomplete into something competitive

COG STUDIOS, Calif. -- The LA Galaxy are getting ready for their preseason to ramp up. They've got a handful of games lined up, and this Saturday, we'll finally get a good look at what they might look like when Spectrum SportsNet broadcasts their match against the New England Revolution. On today's show, hosts Josh Guesman and Kevin Baxter want to get you ready for this week of training and what hurdles the Galaxy still have to clear. The guys will start by attempting to learn something from the two 60-minute scrimmages the club held against USL side San Diego Loyal. But with a starting lineup devoid of, well, starters, there is probably a reasoning Greg Vanney kept most of the big names off the field. But what does it say that Mauricio Cuevas and Auggie Williams keep making an impact on the first team with the minutes they're getting? Josh and Kevin will also talk about the four players away on International Duty and what that means for the Galaxy as they already face some severe shortages on the roster. But this week is the week to see Sebastian Lletget, Jonathan dos Santos, and Efrain Alvarez play for the senior national teams, and you might even get Julian Araujo in one of the biggest matches of his young career. With the roster showing many holes in the preseason scrimmage, what are the Galaxy doing about it? And how optimistic are Josh and Kevin when it comes to the job the Galaxy have done? Where are the upgrades to the team from last year? There's some roster judgment going on, and the Galaxy aren't getting a passing grade -- not yet, anyway. Finally, the guys discuss how a 90-mile circle will make your preseason game watching a lot more difficult thanks to some stupid MLS rules, and how a rumor out of France has the Galaxy dipping their toes into the under-22 rule. Is this the change that could bring some exciting development money into the league? It's a packed show for a Monday night, and we're glad you could join us! - SUBSCRIBE TO OUR PODCAST: http://cornerofthegalaxy.com/subscribe/ - COG LA GALAXY DISCORD: https://discord.gg/drr9HFZY2P - COG MERCHANDISE (SCARVES, T-SHIRTS, BUTTONS, COASTERS): http://www.cornerofthegalaxy.com/SHOP
