Episode 366 - The AFTN Soccer Show (Skin Tight featuring Don Garber, John Herdman, Derek Cornelius, and Marcel de Jong)

Another MLS season has come to pass and another Vancouver Whitecaps rival has lifted the MLS Cup. Sigh. One day people, one day... We were down in Seattle for Sunday's final as the Sounders took on TFC. We chat about the match and the main talking points coming out of it and how Seattle fared as a host city. Plus we bring you excerpts from Don Garber's State of the League address and chat about some of the main things covered in it, especially those with a Canadian bent. Turning our attention to the Canadian national team, we eagerly look forward to the big game with the US in Florida on Friday and hear some thoughts from head coach John Herdman. Plus we chat with 'Caps centre back Derek Cornelius about the historic 2-0 win over them in Toronto last month, the disrespect shown to the Canadian team after it from US pundits and fans, and about what's he's expecting in part two. We also look at an eventful week in Canadian club soccer as Ottawa Fury cease operations and CPL teams start to release players. We sit down for an in-depth chat with Pacific FC defender Marcel de Jong about the CPL season past, his move from the 'Caps, injuries, and looking ahead to the future. Plus does Ben Fisk fancy a chocolate digestive?, Kevin Phoenix features in Wavelength, Goldie Lookin' Chain continue their residency as our artists of the month for November, and there's BC Soccerweb headlines. A Glimpse Behind the Scenes of the LA Galaxy

Josh Guesman from the Corner of the Galaxy podcast and blog comes into the devil's lair to talk about what it's like covering the LA Galaxy as a reporter. He gives us a glimpse into press coverage from MLS, what Zlatan is like as a person, how the MLS has grown since he started covering it in 2009, and where he thinks it's going in the next 10 years. We also ponder about what the LA Galaxy would look like if David Beckham never came. Then hop over to the El Traffico to talk about the new, exciting rivalry in LA. I'd also like to say that this man has a silky smooth radio voice and is a delight to listen to.

1: Kevin Campbell Part 2 | Jampbell Returns

Kevin Campbell part 2 is finally here! Kevin talks through his career in Turkey, Everton, West Brom, and Cardiff. Episode 109: Netherlands 4, USA 0, and a U17 World Cup postmortem

The US U17s’ trip to Brazil was cut short on Saturday night with a 4-0 loss to the Netherlands. That’s it. We’re out, after a 4-1 loss to Senegal and a 0-0 draw with Japan. Scuffed regular Matt Hartman joins me to recap Saturday’s game and try to take something away from the tournament.

Give Me the Pochettino Tramp Stamp Buddy

Moussa Dembele, we love you. I'm sorry that I missed your prime. We discuss the current state of Tottenham and Manchester United. Leicester City and how good they look. Pulisic's hat trick and Chelsea. Sergino Dest and why it's exciting that he selected USMNT. We also admit that GGG hasn't yet had the full squad in place because of injuries (Adams and Weah). We ponder about whether being a USMNT fan is honestly worth it. Then other stuff. I also talk about my overactive bladder...you're welcome. I implore to listen to my attempt at rapping like Slim Shady at the end of the episode.

Man City Nico Brings us Old Men the Truth

Oh to be 24. Our guy @nicodegallo (I love his handle) is just a delightful man to converse with. He tells us all about his experience with a press pass at the International Champions Cup games. He regales us with stories about how cool the Arsenal players are in person. Yuck. Then we talk about his beloved Man City and their amazing depth. The odd losses early in the season. What it's like to play down an early goal. Then a dive into the USMNT dungeon. And of course; delightful champions league banter. Eventually we talk about his favorite local squad and his experience at their playoff game (Philadelphia Union). It was wonderful. Brad, the main Rooster, also tacked on ten minutes at the end here. I won't listen to it until I hear it on the air so not sure what he ranted about. He did end with Harry Kane rant, which I heard while recording the song, and he sounded angry. We'll see.

Episode 53

Steve Zakuani recaps a thrilling Round 1 MLS Cup Playoffs victory for the Sounders and analyzes the good, the bad, and the ugly from Saturday's 4-3 win over FC Dallas. Steve breaks down the rest of the results around the league before turning the page to Wednesday's Western Conference Semifinal match vs. Real Salt Lake.
