Episode 355 - The AFTN Soccer Show (Sweet Sixteen with guests Tosaint Ricketts, Ben Fisk, Michael Silberbauer, and Rob Gale) [NSFW]

Maxime Crepeau celebrated a very unique Sweet Sixteen on Saturday evening in San Jose, claiming the MLS record for the number of saves in a game. Imagine how bad Saturday could have gone for Vancouver Whitecaps if he hadn't. It's a great personal achievement but a bad team one. We look back over the debacle and ponder just where it all went wrong. We lift the mood though with a very enjoyable chat with one of the newest Whitecaps, Tosaint Ricketts, as do a career so far retrospective with the striker, and boy, does he have some tales to tell. Moving away from MLS, we turn our attention to the Canadian Premier League and bring you some interesting chats. First up is former Whitecap Ben Fisk, as we talk about his move to Pacific FC and the league in general. Plus we also chat with Pacific head coach Michael Silberbauer and Valour's Rob Gale about their respective seasons so far, the run-in, and what things need to change in the CPL for year two. Plus there's the week's happenings in MLS, our latest Wavelength and BC Soccerweb headlines. This show has strong language throughout and humour that may offend. Puskas Award Complaints and Early Season Pondering

Did Neves just score an early favorite Puskas nominee against Manchester United in a devastating fashion? He just may have. What a goal. In the end, a tie in the Molineaux is improvement over last year and Manchester United has been fantastic in stretches of the early season. They could have easily won that game and they should have (cough::Pogba PK::cough). We dance around the Premier League beginnings, show love to Sheffield United and Norwich City (TEEEEEEMU), talk about how much Newcastle might suck, then jump into La Liga and Champions League and have a good time doing it. Then the rants get weird about the Puskas. Jimmy's daughter also makes her first appearance on the podcast at 4 weeks old.

Premier League Week 1

Is Chelsea in crisis? Is Mancheter United great now? Are Liverpool and City running away with the league? We pump the brakes a lot, it's the first week. We have questions about Chelsea but they weren't 0-4 awful. We still don't know what United's midfield is, and Liverpool and City were weirdly not their best. Then Caley takes you on a tour of Broadway musicals and ancient feminist hymns.Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoicesSupport the show

Deep dives on the Spurs win over Aston Villa and ManU's win over Chelsea. Then we jump around the league before ending with thinking we had an interview coming up for you guys. Oh well. We'll get them back on.
