And that's more important in the preseason. But which player made their big debut despite not officially being signed by the club? Hosts Josh Guesman (Kevin is on an airport run for this episode. But he'll be back next week) talks about his trip to the desert and why Coachella has so much potential as a soccer destination. But he'll also dive into how the event was set up and all the Galaxy news you can handle. Josh will get you all the details on the Galaxy's 4-1 loss to the Portland Timbers and why Memo Rodriguez, Douglas Costa, Efrain Alvarez, and Tyler Boyd all made some positive impressions. But the defense still needs some work. Josh will also discuss and talk about what Greg Vanney had to say after the game and why an incomplete team is likely headed to one of the biggest games in the history of the league. He'll explain that too. But there will also be talk about rumors and why the Galaxy may be targeting a U-22 Right Back. Could Julian Araujo's replacement be coming from Brazil? And are the Galaxy going to let you protest inside the stadium? Maybe that crackdown has already started? There's much to talk about today, and Josh wants to ensure you get all the details!

And the bottom line is that he's not a Galaxy player anymore. Hosts Josh Guesman and Eric Vieira discuss the next steps for Araujo and why it's really the worst of scenarios for all parties. Will Araujo go to Barcelona to train for the next five months? Can he be loaned back to LA? And what would that mean for his U-22 spot? The guys will also talk about the subtraction of Carlos Harvey and the additions of Tyler Boyd and Eriq Zavaleta. Will we get an official announcement on Boyd before Sunday's match with the Portland Timbers? And if you were the Galaxy, what would you do on your day off in the desert? Would you drink a Coors Lite? Finally, what happened in the 4-1 win over St Louis on Wednesday? And why was it an important game for Efrain Alvarez? Is THIS his breakout year? We've got a lot to talk about tonight, even if the LA Galaxy don't have a bunch of breaking news. Will they sign another player before the window closes? Ummm yeah! Hang in there!

So does a 28-year-old former US Men's National Team fit the bill? Hosts Josh Guesman and Kevin Baxter are back to talk about the first real test of the boycott, the Galaxy's loss to New York City, and why Jalen Neal seems to be the biggest takeaway from the preseason. The guys will start by giving you an update on the Rose Bowl game that is now 19 days away (as we recorded) and why it seems unlikely, the Galaxy will have a completed team before then. So what does it say about the Galaxy and Greg Vanney's mindset heading into an El Trafico that could have more than 70,000 people there? Josh and Kevin will then talk about the preseason game with a lot of action outside the stadium and some good looks inside the stadium. But will a preseason game move the needle for AEG? Finally, the guys will talk about Tyler Boyd's return from Turkey. What could his signing mean for the Galaxy? And who would he replace once the team is fully built out? Is he the answer to the Galaxy's Grandsir problem? Thanks for coming along for another Monday edition of CoG. We'll see you all Thursday.

Then Thursday erupted with a series of deals that have set the LA Galaxy into the preseason. The guys will start by discussing Sacha Kljestan's retirement and their peek at the new authentic second kit. Josh and Eric will then dive into the acquisitions of center-back Chris Mavinga and midfielder Memo Rodriguez. Which of those should you be most excited about? And what questions does Mavinga answer in the backline? Finally, the guys will discuss Nick DePuy's departure from LA and why Nashville fleeced Greg Vanney while flipping another Galaxy player. Sandra Herrera and Lisa Roman prepare for the 2022 NWSL Season with a full Angel City FC preview. Sandra and Lisa run through the front office at Angel City, starting with coach Coombe and the lengthy and impressive list of owners and investors. The biggest burning question for Angel City heading into their very first season: Can ACFC break the “expansion team” cycle and make the playoffs (20:03)? Will the Galaxy be able to match up to one of the best teams in MLS last season? On today's show, hosts Josh Guesman and Sophie Nicolaou want to get you caught up on a busy Thursday. They've got a surprise preseason game to update you on, they'll talk about the Douglas Costa rumors that should cross the line on Monday, and they'll get you ready for what should be an electrifying season from Julian Araujo. First, Josh and Sophie talk about how the preseason doesn't matter. Then Josh will tell you how he's keeping track of goal scorers in the preseason to counter that whole "it doesn't matter" thing. But the majority of this show revolves around the reporting of Fabrizio Romano and how the Galaxy are going to sign Costa for 1.5 years with a six-month loan to start things off. What can we learn about Costa from a question Greg Vanney didn't want to answer? And can the most talented player on the field make it big in Los Angeles? Sophie and Josh will also tell you about the first significant injury of the preseason, and you'll hear from Vanney on Costa, Cristian Pavon, Mark Delgado, and a lot more. Plus, what did Vanney think of Araujo's World Cup Qualifying debut? And why is that good for the Galaxy? We've got a packed show for you on a Thursday night that will definitely get you ready for a Saturday night game! Let's get this thing started!

So when are Douglas Costa and Cristian Pavon headed to Los Angeles? Let's press pause on that duo... at least for a bit longer. On today's show, hosts Josh Guesman and Kevin Baxter want to get you all the latest Galaxy news. And surprisingly, there's a lot to digest. Josh and Kevin will start by updating you on the Galaxy's preseason roster and why there's one very interesting name. Who is trailing with the club? And what does a lack of international spots mean for some players? And the whole reason the Galaxy released their roster was that they played a closed-door preseason game on Saturday and came away victorious. Did Greg Vanney end up playing some defense? And why does the preseason never matter until it does? But the guys who did get on the scoreboard for the Galaxy certainly are worth paying attention to this Saturday when the Galaxy play their first preseason game that is open to the public. However, the bulk of the show will be focused on the probable signing of Douglas Costa (he seems to be coming) and the possible reacquisition of Cristian Pavon. Come February, could we see two game-changers playing together at Dignity Health Sports Park? Would the Galaxy have to wait until the summertime? Plus, the guys will go over each deal and tell you why some risky business decisions are being made. Can the Galaxy get the most out of Costa? There's no denying there's talent there, but will he be able to regain form he had when he played for the likes of Juventus and Bayern? We've got a very packed show filled with opinion, new information, and a lot of speculation heading into a very condensed off-season. Let's get it started!

So, how many "starters" should you expect to see, and how many players will the Galaxy get ready for the season-opener? On today's show, hosts Josh Guesman and Kevin Baxter want to give you the latest in Galaxy news and get you prepped for the Galaxy's final busy week before the 2021 season kicks off. The guys will start with the loss to Sporting KC in this weekend's preseason game. Why are fans and reporters beginning to get frustrated? It shouldn't be the losses. Those don't matter right now. But the lack of available starters is starting to be a massive problem to Greg Vanney and the club, and it likely means guys you aren't expecting to start in Miami will be starting in Miami. We'll go over what we learned and why the team that starts in Florida will probably look different than the team that plays the rest of the season. Plus, if you want rumors, we're going to explain the U-22 initiative once again and why the Galaxy will probably be using that to sign Kevin Cabral. Is it 100-percent done? You'll have to listen to find out! And why does this mean the Galaxy are still shopping for a DP? Again, it's all explained! And with IFAB and US Soccer getting in on the action, Major League Soccer will use concussion subs in 2021. It's a simple rule that has some wacky possibilities. Could you see a team using nine subs in a game? We'll tell you how that could happen -- even if it's not very likely. Do you like the rule? Will teams use it or abuse it? Sure, we'll talk about a game nobody saw! On today's show, hosts Josh Guesman and Kevin Baxter discuss the Galaxy's quiet last few days and why things might be about to heat up again! First, the guys talk about Auggie Williams and his goal against the Columbus Crew in a game that wasn't a game, wasn't real, and probably is just a figment of everyone's imagination. But Williams is trying to earn a spot on the senior team, and scoring in a glorified scrimmage is an excellent way to get Greg Vanney's attention. What could separate Williams from the rest of the guys trying to make this team? Next, Josh updates listeners on a rumor involving Victor Vázquez and why you can't compare him to Sebastian Giovinco. Are the Galaxy going to grab the 34-year-old? And what does that mean for the rest of the starting lineup?
