On the second Podcast of Correspondent week Suj & James speak to Southampton fan Matt Samuel to find out about Saints likely system and their new incomings. Three at the back appears to be the way Ralph Hassenhuttl wants to go, could this lead to greater solidity at the back for Saints? But could it also lead to concerns about scoring at the other end? There's discussion on imminent new signing Sekou Mara, but why Saints probably still need another additional striker. Are new signings Gavin Bazunu, Armel Bella-Kotchap, Romeo Lavia and Joe Aribo likely starters and can they be considered as FPL options? Plus, depth concerns at wing-back, likley GW1 line-up, the nasty opening fixture runs, whether Matt would consider captaining Harry Kane or Heung-Min Son against Saints in GW1 and the consistency of James Ward-Prowse with comparisons to other 6.5 FPL assets... Leerdam, Edwards, depth, TV contracts, and a Galaxy third kit?

- SUBSCRIBE TO OUR PODCAST: http://cornerofthegalaxy.com/subscribe/ - COG LA GALAXY DISCORD: https://discord.gg/drr9HFZY2P - COG MERCHANDISE (SCARVES, T-SHIRTS, BUTTONS, COASTERS): http://www.cornerofthegalaxy.com/SHOP COG STUDIOS, Calif. -- The LA Galaxy got their first signing of 2022 across the line, and we're expecting more before the week is over. So let's dive into our second show of the year to talk about Kelvin Leerdam and what's next for the club. Hosts Josh Guesman and Eric Vieira are interested in getting you ready for a preseason that now has some times and dates associated with it. And can we tell you when the Galaxy will make their way to the desert? Josh and Eric start with the preseason schedule with the Galaxy playing three games at Dignity Health Sports Park -- two in front of crowds -- and sandwiching a trip to the desert in between. And are the Empire Polo Grounds set up to handle a soccer tournament? Yes, absolutely! And maybe a little bit of a no. But they're not hosting 60,000 people waiting to see Kanye, so we're reasonably sure they can handle it. We'll explain it all, including the five teams that could be in Indio for this first-ever Coachella Valley Invitational. What about the Galaxy's release of the new first kit and a possible third kit? We'll talk about new jersey's and why the Galaxy need to keep it simple to complement last year's success of the Community Kit. The guys will then dive into the signing of Kelvin Leerdam, and Raheem Edwards is expected to be the other player the Galaxy announces. What do they both bring to a team that needs depth, creativity, and minutes? And why might Leerdam be the answer to what happens when the Galaxy sell Julian Araujo? Finally, the guys discuss accountability, a challenging year for a single-year TV contract, and so much more. Are you ready to hop on the internet to watch Galaxy games in 2022? We've got a packed show so let's get started!

Hello 2022! Galaxy players signings, desert tournaments, and a preseason start date

- SUBSCRIBE TO OUR PODCAST: http://cornerofthegalaxy.com/subscribe/ - COG LA GALAXY DISCORD: https://discord.gg/drr9HFZY2P - COG MERCHANDISE (SCARVES, T-SHIRTS, BUTTONS, COASTERS): http://www.cornerofthegalaxy.com/SHOP COG STUDIOS, Calif. -- Welcome back, LA Galaxy fans! We're kicking off 2022 with a show that is packed with little details and a little bit of breaking news. Are you ready to find out what this preseason will look like? Well, it starts in 12 days. Let that sink in! On today's show, hosts Josh Guesman and Kevin Baxter discuss the Galaxy's preseason plans and get some of the details on preseason reporting and a new preseason tournament that will take place at the same place Coachella is held. Can you say, "Coachella Valley Invitational?" Josh and Kevin will start by telling you when the Galaxy will report for physicals and then which date is mandated by the league to begin their preseason. They'll also go into details about a preseason tournament that will kick-off for the first time in 2022 but will more than likely be a yearly tournament with anywhere from four to six teams playing in it. And we'll tell you how AEG is hosting it on land they operate, with revenues eventually going back to AEG and the Galaxy. And do you want some player signings? We'll tell you when to expect some announcements this week and why it could end up being more than just two names that get announced this week. There will also be confirmations on the news of Pipo Gonzalez departing the Galaxy and how the club saved a local sports complex in Torrance. Finally, we've got a look into an MLS middle-man and why his track record with the club isn't that great. Are the Galaxy addicted to one agent? And does that mean more French players for the club? We're glad to welcome you back to 2022! Now let's get ready for a quick preseason with lots of roster space. Happy New Year, listeners!

Then to prove all white guys look alike, Josh and Eric will get into the details about the Galaxy's newest SuperDraft picks. Do you have any hope that either of the players will be on the roster come March -- or May? Plus, both from the University of Denver? And one of them seems to be a Galaxy fan! But the real highlight of the Galaxy's roster is the additions of Adam Saldaña, Jalen Neal, and Markus Ferkranus (should be announced on Friday). Why is this such a big deal for the Galaxy as an organization? And why will this mean relatively little for the 2021 season? Finally, the guys are diving into the deteriorating negotiations between MLS and the MLSPA. Did commissioner Don Garber send a letter to the "fans" to get the MLSPA to the bargaining table? And why the conflicting messages from ownership? Are we on the verge of a lockout? Don't panic about the roster, right? RIGHT? We've got a jam-packed show that has plenty of twists and turns. And we'll explain it all! Welcome to peak offseason, MLS!

They added two players to the roster this week and look to be adding a couple of more in rapid succession. So what can we deduce from their move so far? On today's show, hosts Josh Guesman and Eric Vieira battle sunspots and internet outages to bring you the latest news surrounding your favorite team. Are you starting to feel the excitement? Would you too like to be rolled down a hill in a barrel? Josh and Eric will start with the latest developments on Cristian Pavon and the allegations surrounding him. The Galaxy remain interested, and there's some good reason why. Plus, Pavon went out on a limb, which may mean he can't go back to Boca Juniors. So where will he go? And who had the leverage? Then the guys will discuss the signings of Jorge Villafaña and Jonathan Bond to tell you how the Galaxy got the deals done and why they had their eyes on these guys. Of course there was a list involved, and of course the Galaxy were keeping track of them. The guys will also discuss the futures of Jonathan Klinsmann and David Bingham and what effect that might have on the roster. Eric will close things out with some Kit news and tell you why you might want to save those pennies. Don't be slow on this. You're going to regret it. (CORRECTION: JOSH MISTAKENLY SAID THE GALAXY WOULD BE GETTING TWO NEW KITS IN 2021. THIS IS INCORRECT. THE GALAXY WILL BE GETTING A NEW 2ND KIT SUPPOSEDLY IN THE COLOR-WAY WE DESCRIBED ON THE SHOW). Finally, there's some roster talk as the Galaxy still need plenty of reinforcements. But there's reason to believe that they have the room to get it all done! We've got a packed show for you, and we're so glad you joined us! Another show in the books! Even if Eric did his best Elsa impression multiple times.
