President of the Ghana Football Association and CAF 2nd Vice-President, Kurt Okraku, has officially opened the CAF Medical Commission meeting in Lome, underlining the growing focus on health and professionalism in African football.Representing CAF President Patrice Motsepe, Okraku called for stronger medical standards across member associations, stressing the need for improved collaboration and continuous capacity building.He noted that player welfare and modern medical practices must remain central to the development of the game on the continent.The meeting brought together medical experts and football administrators from across Africa, including Ghana’s Prince Pambo, as stakeholders discussed ways to strengthen healthcare systems within the sport.Okraku’s presence in Lome forms part of a broader schedule of regional engagements. He recently attended a FIFA consultative meeting in Cote d’Ivoire focused on shaping the next phase of the FIFA Forward Programme.His visit also coincided with the CAF Zone West-B Team Managers Training Seminar, further highlighting efforts to build capacity within the region.Among those present were Guy Kossi Akpovy and Philippe Tchere.
