Jimbo, Sasha Goryunov and Duncan Alexander gather to summarise Day 9 of the World Cup. We had two contenders for game of the tournament on the same day! Cameroon took the lead against Serbia but the Serbs scored three in succession to lead 3-1 only for Cameroon to drag it back to 3-3. The result probably means both sides are out but Vincent Aboubakar did score a lovely lob. Ghana looked like they were sailing to victory with a 2-0 lead over South Korea heading into half time. Then two goals in three second half minutes saw South Korea level before Mohammed Kudus scored his second, Ghana’s third, and secure what could be a massive three points in Group H. Massive because Portugal’s win over Uruguay sees the Portuguese qualify and leaves Ghana in pole position to follow them through. Plus we look ahead to the biggest game at the tournament tomorrow… Iran vs USA. Bassil Mikdadi gives us the Iranian perspective on their winner takes all game. And The Athletic’s Sam Stejskal gives us the perspective from the American side. Produced by Charlie Jones & Steve Hankey Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
