Vancouver Whitecaps chat featuring Bruce Grobbelaar, Carl Robinson, Cole Seiler and a look back and ahead to the Canadian Championship games with Ottawa Fury. We're covering the Canadian Championship, MLS, USL, Euro 2016 and Copa America in this episode, so lots to listen to.

It's Episode 74 of "There's Still Time", the AFTN Soccer Podcast, and we're in a celebratory mood. Not just because the Vancouver Whitecaps beat Sporting Kansas City to get back into the playoff places in the MLS Western Conference, but also because this podcast was recorded on the 25th birthday/anniversary of when AFTN first began as a fanzine back in Scotland on August 10th 1989. So a special day for AFTN and a special day for the Whitecaps, who got back on track and finally stopped drawing. We pick over the bones and the highs and lows of the game and hear audio from both locker rooms, both coaches and a number of the players. On the Whitecaps side we hear from head coach Carl Robinson, goalscorer Darren Mattocks and goalkeeper David Ousted. And from Kansas City, we have a good chat with their head coach Peter Vermes (one of the best coaches to chat to in MLS in our opinion), their penalty-saving goalkeeper Jon Kempin and All-Star defender Matt Besler. And there's still time to look at whether the Whitecaps should/will make any further additions to the squad before the roster freeze, the USL Pro town forums and Canada's potential World Cup bid for 2026. Have a listen!

Recorded just before the Football League failed Cellino, the podcast reminisces on the Elland Road goal feasts against Bolton and Reading. There's a look back on David Haigh's successful career in the burger industry and property markets, as well a forensic examination of Mrs Jason Pearce's approach to contraception. Michael chuckles at the thought of Bournemouth going four up against the Whites, and there's definitely something fishy about Charlton. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

Soccer podcast covering Vancouver Whitecaps, MLS and the game of football in North America and beyond.

At least Warnock has sorted out the defence, eh? After the Forest horror show, the pod - missing a man - reflects on that and the other matches, including a great win at Millwall. The team remembers other humiliations in the history of the Whites. Plus there's the usual scattergun approach to predictions for the upcoming games against Watford, Reading and Derby. Neil Warnock has arrived at Elland Road along with Danny Webber, but Andros Townsend's head is no longer with us, which casts a large shadow over proceedings. The team looks at the Redfearn era before having a chinwag with the Supporters Trust chairman, Gary Cooper, on the phone. Next up we have Hull and Southampton and the predictions are getting wild. On the 50th anniversary of Don Revie's appointment at Leeds the team pay tribute to his legacy. Doncaster, Preston, Ipswich and the Blades all fall under the microscope, along with Barry Bone, Uncle Ken's latest missive and Goals on Snoday. Hosted on Acast. With the season crashing down around our ears the team do their best to avoid facing the truth by turning their attention to football's other delusional figures. Big Sol takes a thrashing, the boys pick apart the club's Ocean Finance-esque obsession with loans and desperately pray for a happy easter. Hosted on Acast.
