Oh to be 24. Our guy @nicodegallo (I love his handle) is just a delightful man to converse with. He tells us all about his experience with a press pass at the International Champions Cup games. He regales us with stories about how cool the Arsenal players are in person. Yuck. Then we talk about his beloved Man City and their amazing depth. The odd losses early in the season. What it's like to play down an early goal. Then a dive into the USMNT dungeon. And of course; delightful champions league banter. Eventually we talk about his favorite local squad and his experience at their playoff game (Philadelphia Union). It was wonderful. Brad, the main Rooster, also tacked on ten minutes at the end here. I won't listen to it until I hear it on the air so not sure what he ranted about. He did end with Harry Kane rant, which I heard while recording the song, and he sounded angry. We'll see.
Steve Zakuani recaps a thrilling Round 1 MLS Cup Playoffs victory for the Sounders and analyzes the good, the bad, and the ugly from Saturday's 4-3 win over FC Dallas. Steve breaks down the rest of the results around the league before turning the page to Wednesday's Western Conference Semifinal match vs. Real Salt Lake.

What a week of football this has been and we bring you as much chat about it as we can cram into two and a half hours! We start things off by looking back at Canada's historic Nations League victory against the US on Tuesday, as we hear from a cock-a-hoop Canadian head coach John Herdman and chat about how the loss went down among a number of the US media. Turning our attention to MLS, we look back at the initial roster moves made by Vancouver Whitecaps this past week and what that may mean for the future look of the squad, and we delve into a truly fantastic weekend of MLS playoff action with Philly.com's Jonathan Tannenwald. It's been a busy week in the CPL as well. As the first ever regular season wraps up, we hear from caretaker Pacific FC head coach James Merriman about the end to their season and sit down for a chat with Pacific co-owner Rob Friend about the club's decision to sack head coach Michael Silberbauer and what the ideal future looks like for the club. All this plus Scott Sutter talks TV, Vanilla Muffins are back in Wavelength, 13 Tombs continue as our artists of the month for October, and there's BC Soccerweb headlines. This week we look at Canada's historic victory over the US Men's National Team, as well as go in depth to setting up all of the MLS Playoff games. We ties up a few loose ends with CanPL and NWSL to round out the show and make our predictions for who will be this playoff round's victors.
Steve Zakuani is back for a full playoff preview. Your favorite winger gives his reasons why FC Dallas is an ideal opponent for the Sounders, and why he believes they will advance following Saturday's Round 1 clash. He's then joined by a special guest: former Sounders captain Brad Evans. They discuss his career in Seattle and beyond before Zakuani shares his full playoff bracket and goes into his Big 3 Things.

Have you ever wanted to jump inside the devil's mind for a full hour? Here's your chance. This man didn't stop talking for 56 straight minutes. It was organized, thorough, and fun. He wrote an outline and switched up the topics to keep it fun. The episode covers USMNT, Manchester United, the Devil's favorite movies, the Devil's top 5 games ever attended (any sport), a thoughtful monologue on referees, VAR, and the way we treat them. Just so much more. It honestly might be my favorite rooster and the devil episode. I hope you like it.

If you need something to cheer you up after the USMNT loss to Canada, this episode will be it. If you are Canadian, and need something to lift your spirits even higher than they are now, today's show will also do that. Today we are joined by Sean Johnson of NYCFC, where we play our interview from the media day the team had at the Adidas store in NYC. And in studio we are joined by New York Cosmos new signing, Albanian international, Ansi Agolli. We also finally break down this Rooney/Vardy drama, plus we think we finally figured out who Alexis' dad is. Horrible night in Toronto. Failure, embarrassment. Once again the citizens of the United States of America are encouraged to forget about the U.S. men's national team entirely, and comprehensive irrelevance looms. Time to rant and rave (but also to be fair), and to discuss the possibility of firing Gregg Berhalter.
Alexi and Mosse discuss the allure of MLS playoffs in the State of the Union (4:48). Also, Europe's growing international influence is explored in Mosse Makes the Case (21:29). Then, Alexi ranking Carlos Vela in his top 20, Man United's woes and a painful memory for Alexi are looked at in Ask Alexi (32:08). Finally, the USMNT, Neymar's injury and Bundesliga's surprising early season table headline The Back Three (53:03). Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices
