Will they ever stop winning from a goal down? Plus, you’ll never believe the mega prize money for the Carabao Cup and you certainly WILL believe how Jose Mourinho’s Roma spent their evening. The Ruben Dias Episode

City and Portugal defender Ruben Dias is the latest guest on the Official Man City podcast. A rock at the back for City since arriving in 2020, Dias has been integral to the most successful period in the Club's history. Dias has won all three Premier League titles he has competed for as well as an FA Cup, Carabao Cup, UEFA Super Cup, FIFA Club World Cup and the UEFA Champions League. The centre back particularly made an impact in his first campaign, winning the Club's Player of the Year trophy and the Premier League Player of the Season and FWA Footballer of the Year awards. Since then he has gone on to become one of the Club's five captains and a leader on and off the pitch whether wearing the armband or not. His role in last season's Treble could not be overstated, with Dias striking up a perfect partnership with John Stones and adapting to covering as Stones stepped into midfield. Dias has now played 156 times for City and is widely regarded as one of the best defenders in our history. In this podcast, he chats with hosts Rob Pollard and Nedum Onuoha on his route into football, competing with his brother, taking on his dad’s advice and how he became the player we know today. Men in Blazers 01/05/2024: WGFOP Weekend Preview

But… Liverpool are already in the Carabao Cup semi-final and will face up to Fulham on Wednesday in the first leg of that clash. Episode 112 - Glory Days of Gold (Back With A Bump)

We're back with the first Glory Days of Gold episode of the new season, the East Fife and Scottish football podcast recorded across two continents. It's been a busy couple of months down Bayview way since our last episode. Players have moved on and new additions have come in to bolster the East Fife ranks, spearheaded by the return of prolific local goalscoring hero Nathan 'Fash' Austin. A fairly decent League Cup campaign. that saw three overall victories and two clean sheets raised hopes for the new league season to come, but Saturday's opening day home loss to Peterhead may have dampened some of those somewhat.Michael and Gordon chat about all that, look at some of the other happenings around Scottish League Two, delve into the rejection of more Colts teams in Scottish football and what needs to happen in terms of league reconstruction, and talk about some weird penalty shootouts.

Manchester United ended their five year trophy drought by beating Newcastle United in the League Cup final. We discuss if this is the symbolic start of something good for Erik Ten Hag and his team, and if the League Cup is a minor or major trophy… In Scotland, Celtic win another League Cup and we ponder if the dominance of Ange Postecoglou’s side will keep on going. Forever. Tottenham find themselves in the top four after beating a defensively and offensively lacklustre Chelsea 2-0. At this point, the redemption arc for Graham Potter at Chelsea is going to be quite epic if it does come… We talk for a bit about quite how drastic the collapse in standards at Liverpool has been, and Jon gets very excited about Javi Gracia’s first game, and victory; as Leeds United manager. Plus, we briefly look at how Paris St Germain will probably win Ligue Un again but probably not the Champions League. And, even more briefly, we cast our eyes over the last 16 draw for the Europa League, Europe’s second most major, or minor; cup competition.
