The Blizzard: Manchester City 3-2 QPR, 2012

"It's finished at Sunderland, and Manchester United have done all they can. That Rooney goal was enough for the three points. Manchester City still alive here. Balotelli..." It was only a matter of time. On today's episode of Greatest Games, in association with The Blizzard, we're heading back to the most extraordinary final day of any modern Premier League season. We're joined by sports journalist and broadcaster Flo Lloyd-Hughes who, curiously enough, is a QPR fan. We recount that historic day as City overturned United's eight-point advantage in the last five weeks of the season and won the Premier League title on goal difference for the first time. And this all through the lens of Flo and the QPR fans around her who were swept up in the celebrations and partying alongside their home equivalents, as they were spared relegation by a Jonathan Walters goal for Stoke! The Ramble: Shrewsbury rock Liverpool, Man United are BACK again, and it’s time for Newcastle’s annual takeover talk

The Relegation Battle is [fire emoji] in the English Premier League

That final Salah Liverpool goal against Manchester United was just a gross display of dominance and celebration at Anfield. I hope that Liverpool fans are actually starting to get sad because it's NEVER going to be better than that moment. You'll lift the trophy but you'll regret not enjoying it more. I hope it feels like the last day of vacation for the rest of the year. Yes, I'm bitter. But I shouldn't be because the relegation battle is going to be so much fun to watch this year. Only 8 points separate #8 (Tottenham) from #18 (Bournemouth). Although that stat is a little off because I'm writing this on Wednesday morning and there's a bunch of game-in-hand scenarios going on. But, I'd argue that anyone from Burnley (#14 on 27 points) to Norwich (#20 on 17 points) has a chance at going down. The bottom of the league is competitive this year. Did you see that insane Villa goal in the 94' minute against Watford? That shit was fire. Fun. Fun. Fun.
