Tuchel’s England: Maguire or Stones? | Woods Crash | Palmer’s Future

Rob Jones is joined by Jonathan Northcroft, Julien Laurens and John Cross to reflect on the weekend’s sporting action. We kick things off with the battle for places in Thomas Tuchel’s England squad. Harry Maguire may be fifth-choice at centre-back, but do his recent form and tournament pedigree put him back in contention this summer? Julien argues the case for a fully fit John Stones to anchor the defence, while John considers the case for Ben White’s inclusion after his impressive goalscoring cameo against Uruguay. Next, we turn to the news of Tiger Woods’ arrest following a crash in Florida. Julien reflects on the reality that it barely came as a surprise—and argues it may finally be time for golf to move on. Next, we look at Cole Palmer and the chances he could leave Chelsea FC this summer. We explore his future and the clubs that might be interested in snapping him up. We then turn to the England cricket team, where Ben Stokes’ return is on hold after a cheek injury. Cricket broadcaster Adam Collins joins us to discuss Stokes’ absence and his prospects of returning to County cricket with Durham in early May. And finally, we dive into Arsenal, sparked by George Graham’s comments. While the pushing, shoving, grappling, and set-piece scoring might not be pretty, Graham points out that everyone does it—and Arsenal do it best. John argues the team has been unfairly criticised but must find a way to get over the line by any means necessary. Sunday Supplement is a Sky Sports podcast. Is This the Most Haaland Thing Ever? This Is What Makes Erling UNSTOPPABLE 💥

Erling Haaland has officially entered the YouTube world — and we’re breaking it all down right here on the Blue Moon Botcast! 💙⚽ Welcome to Erling Haaland's first ever YouTube video! With unprecedented access, He brings you along for his daily routine to show you what its really like as a pro footballer! In his very first video, the Manchester City goal machine gives fans a full look into his daily routine — from his morning coffee to training at the CFA, his recovery sessions, ice baths, sauna time, and even a trip to a local farm where he picks up raw milk, honey, and beef (yes, seriously). We chat about everything from his pink tracksuit moment to the sweet banter with his girlfriend Isabel, his jokes with John Stones, and how this video shows the real Haaland off the pitch — focused, funny, and totally built different. Haaland even says: “People always see the matches, the goals, the celebrations — but not the hours that go into being ready for all of that.” This episode dives into what that means — and how his new YouTube channel might be the most Haaland thing ever. 💙 Join the Blue Moon family: Subscribe for more City stories, behind-the-scenes breakdowns, and fan takes every week. #ErlingHaaland #ManCity #PremierLeague #ManchesterCity #Haaland

Savinho Steals the Show! Man City Stay Unstoppable 💫

“Savinho Steals the Show! Man City Outclass Villarreal in Europe 💙” The Blue Moon Botcast is back — and the vibes are immaculate! 💙 Manchester City made it look easy once again in the Champions League, cruising past Villarreal 2–0 at the Etihad. Pep Guardiola’s side stay unbeaten in the group, sitting on seven points from three games — and there were plenty of talking points from this one! Rico Lewis and Savinho absolutely ran the show in the first half, combining for the opening goal — with Erling Haaland (obviously!) on hand to score for a 12th consecutive game. The man’s a machine. Then, just when you thought he’d bag all the goals again, Bernardo Silva popped up with a header from another brilliant Savinho cross. In the second half, Donnarumma pulled off some key saves to keep the clean sheet intact, and Pep’s rotation plan paid off perfectly. We’re talking tactical tweaks, standout performances, and that unstoppable City rhythm we all love. 🎙️ In this episode, we break down Player ratings and fan takes: Donnarumma – 8: Rock solid. Made a huge save in the second half and stayed switched on all night. Nunes – 8: Excellent down the flank, linked up beautifully with Lewis and Savinho early on. Dias – 7: Got booked harshly, but handled their forwards with ease. Stones – 7: Just pure class. That midfield drift? He makes it look effortless. Gvardiol – 6: A couple of sloppy moments — Pep wasn’t happy — but he’ll shake it off. Gonzalez – 7: Looked sharp, great awareness. Shame he had to hobble off. Bernardo Silva – 8: Scored and isn’t named Haaland! Worked hard at both ends. Rico Lewis – 7: Outstanding first half, faded a bit later, but still so influential. Savinho – 8: What a performance. Two assists, full of energy — electric. Doku – 6: Not quite his night. Missed an early chance and couldn’t get going. Haaland – 8: Another game, another goal. The guy’s on fire — unstoppable right now. Subs: Kovacic (for Gonzalez, 57’) – 7: Played some delicious passes through to Haaland. Reijnders (for Lewis, 72’) – 6: Loves to drive forward, maybe a bit too much sometimes. Bobb (for Doku, 72’) – 6: Didn’t have long to make an impact. 💬 Drop your thoughts in the comments: Who was your Man of the Match — Haaland, Savinho, or maybe Donnarumma for that clutch save? The John Stones Episode

After a sensational return from injury, John Stones is the latest guest on the Official Man City podcast. The England international sits down with hosts Nedum Onuoha and Rob Pollard to discuss his glittering career to date. Arriving at City in 2016 shortly after Pep Guardiola, Stones has since developed into arguably the best defender in the world. During the episode, Onuoha, a former City defender himself, marvels at how Stones steps into midfield and dictates play alongside Rodrigo. Stones' ability to come forward was a key component in last season's historic Treble success and again looks to be central to Guardiola's plans in the closing months of the 2023/24 campaign. That's not to ignore his capabilities off the ball, with the 29-year-old more than comfortable going toe-to-toe with the most fearsome forwards in the game. As one of the podcast's most requested guests, Stones is clearly a fans' favourite at the Etihad too. Throughout this 45-minute feature, we get a fascinating insight into Stones' mentality and how he drowns out the noise to focus on the next game and being the best player he can be. Our No.5 also reflects on some of the highlights in eight incredibly successful years at City. Settle in, you won't want to miss this! Learn more about your ad choices. We also address the difficult scenes at the Hawthorns, which led to a long delay in the Black Country derby. Plus, the ghost of Jose Mourinho takes another managerial casualty and DR Congo’s goalkeeper channels his inner Michelle McManus. Said literally no one ever. The Ruben Dias Episode

City and Portugal defender Ruben Dias is the latest guest on the Official Man City podcast. A rock at the back for City since arriving in 2020, Dias has been integral to the most successful period in the Club's history. Dias has won all three Premier League titles he has competed for as well as an FA Cup, Carabao Cup, UEFA Super Cup, FIFA Club World Cup and the UEFA Champions League. The centre back particularly made an impact in his first campaign, winning the Club's Player of the Year trophy and the Premier League Player of the Season and FWA Footballer of the Year awards. Since then he has gone on to become one of the Club's five captains and a leader on and off the pitch whether wearing the armband or not. His role in last season's Treble could not be overstated, with Dias striking up a perfect partnership with John Stones and adapting to covering as Stones stepped into midfield. Dias has now played 156 times for City and is widely regarded as one of the best defenders in our history. In this podcast, he chats with hosts Rob Pollard and Nedum Onuoha on his route into football, competing with his brother, taking on his dad’s advice and how he became the player we know today.
