Aston Villa v Newcastle | CotC with Lee Jackson & Simon Bibby | Planet FPL 2023/24

On Clash of the Correspondents James is joined by Aston Villa fan Lee Jackson and Newcastle United fan Simon Bibby to discuss the latest at their clubs ahead and the best FPL assets from each ahead of the GW22 meeting at Villa Park. Are Villa still in contention for the title? And would it now be a disappointment if they didn't finish in the top 4? Villa's excellent record this season evokes memories in Newcastle's outstanding campaign last season. But Eddie Howe's side could find themselves in the bottom half before they travel to Villa. Are injuries the obvious explanation for a run of 6 defeats in 7 or is the manager's position under threat? There's FPL discussion, including the prospects of captaining a Villa or Newcastle player in GW23, whether the likes of Ollie Watkins and Kieran Trippier should be held longer-term despite many FPL managers requiring funds for multiple premium assets and there's also discussion on the likes of Alex Moreno and Anthony Gordon. Plus, with FFP and PSR a hot topic this weeks what do the fans of the 2 clubs who seem most capable of breaking through the ceiling of the big 6 think about restrictions their clubs are currently under? Meanwhile, Alex Moreno, Tim Iroegbunam, and Jacob Ramsey are also sidelined with injuries. Emi Buendia and Tyrone Mings are dealing with long-term injuries. Bertrand Traore's return is uncertain, and Leander Dendoncker is unavailable. For Hibernian, Dylan Vente suffered a facial injury but is expected to recover, while Dylan Levitt is unlikely to play due to an anklei injury.

Wolves v Aston Villa | CotC with @parker_bradley & @Lee_Jackson_92 | Planet FPL 2022/23

On Clash of the Correspondents this week Jameas is joined by Wolves fan Bradley Parker and Aston Villa fan Lee Jackson to preview Saturday's GW35 meeting at Molineux and discuss the latest at their clubs. It was a dismal showing for Wolves as they conceded six at Brighton on Saturday. Was it a giant blip in what has so far been a positive climb out of trouble for Julen Lopetegui's side? Or is there real cause for concern? Villa too suffered a setback at Old Trafford on Sunday in their quest for European qualification but with the 3 teams directly above to follow Wolves Unai Emery's side know qualification for Thursday night football is very much in their hands. Plus, best Wolves FPL enabler, whether to start or bench the likes of Tyrone Mings and Alex Moreno and the danger of selling Ollie Watkins...
