Fulham v Crystal Palace | CotC with Lewis James & Ruaidhri McLoughlin-Dowd | Planet FPL 2024/25

On Clash of the Correspondents James is joined by Fulham fan Lewis James and Crystal Palace fan Ruaidhri McLoughlin-Dowd to discuss the latest at their clubs and some very important FPL assets ahead of Saturday's meeting at Craven Cottage. And by assets that doesn't just mean the players as Eagles boss Oliver Glasner is likely to be popular for Assistant Manager bonus point hunters and for those yet to deploy the Chip again he'll no doubt attract interest around GW32 when Palace double. But he's not been the best performing manager over the last couple of weeks as that honour goes to Saturday's opponent Marco Silva, as Fulham produced outstanding victories against Newcastle and Nottingham Forest that truly has them in contention for European qualification. Plus, those key FPL assets covered including Antonee Robinson, Kenny Tete's longer-term threat to Timothy Castagne; forwards Raul Jimenez and Jean-Phillipe Mateta, Dean Henderson, Ebe Eze, Ismaila Sarr and Daniel Munoz might not be the only Palace wing-back of interest in the weeks to come. Arsenal v Nottingham Forest | CotC with Adam Pritchard & Mark Sutherns | Planet FPL 2024/25

On Clash of the Correspondents James is joined by Arsenal fan Adam Pritchard and Nottingham Forest fan Mark Sutherns to discuss the FPL assets at their clubs and the current key talking points ahead of the GW12 meeting between the clubs at The Emirates. And it's two clubs who currently sit inside the top 5 on 19 points. Forest have very much exceeded expectation so far, so is a push for European qualification now a realistic goal? While for Arsenal the gap to leaders Liverpool is already 9 points, how concerning is this or do Arsenal now have a set of fixtures that will make them believe they can close the gap? There's discussion on key attacking Arsenal assets Bukayo Saka and Kai Havertz, whether double Arsenal defence is the way to go, why Jurrien Timber is likely to attract increased attention and the importance of Martin Odegaard's return. While Forest assets, it now looks tough on the fixture ticker, is talisman Chris Wood now in the sell or avoid zone despite an impressive season? Or should he and a defensive asset, with excellent defensive numbers, still be considered for investment? On Clash of the Correspondents this week Jameas is joined by Wolves fan Bradley Parker and Aston Villa fan Lee Jackson to preview Saturday's GW35 meeting at Molineux and discuss the latest at their clubs. It was a dismal showing for Wolves as they conceded six at Brighton on Saturday. Was it a giant blip in what has so far been a positive climb out of trouble for Julen Lopetegui's side? Or is there real cause for concern? Villa too suffered a setback at Old Trafford on Sunday in their quest for European qualification but with the 3 teams directly above to follow Wolves Unai Emery's side know qualification for Thursday night football is very much in their hands. Plus, best Wolves FPL enabler, whether to start or bench the likes of Tyrone Mings and Alex Moreno and the danger of selling Ollie Watkins... SNF | Emery's Villa stun Blues at the Bridge | Hasselbaink: ‘Chelsea need to be calmer in front of goal’ | Mudryk divides opinion

Dave Jones presents 'Saturday Night Football' alongside Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink and Lee Hendrie, and they watched Aston Villa beat Chelsea 2-0 at Stamford Bridge to move above the hosts and into the top half of the Premier League. Lee described Chelsea’s defending as ‘schoolboy’ whilst Jimmy said their main problem is putting the ball in the back of the net and they need to be calmer in front of goal. The duo also highlighted Ollie Watkins’ performance which was capped by another away goal and the forward produced a standout performance. Mykhaylo Mudryk again failed to impress for Chelsea and missed some key chances, but Hasselbaink defended the forward saying that he needs more time to settle. However, Hendrie feels the Ukrainian should have converted the opportunities he failed to capitalise on. They also discuss Graham Potter’s future, and feel if the negative results continue, the pressure will build. Hendrie thinks the Champions League tie against Real Madrid will be crucial to determine Potter's outcome. Hasselbaink however believes Chelsea’s board should look at Arsenal’s decision to back Mikel Arteta and trust the process as the Gunners are a great example of adopting that approach. There is also reaction from both goal scorers, Ollie Watkins and John McGinn as well as Graham Potter, who felt Chelsea were second best in both boxes despite having more attempts. Unai Emery also gives his views on the result and said that securing European football for next season will be difficult, but they will try to achieve it. Aston Villa v Bournemouth | CotC with @Lee_Jackson_92 & @AFCBNG | Planet FPL 2022/23

On the second Clash of the Correspondents ahead of Blank Gameweek 28 James is joined by Aston Villa fan Neil Grover and Bournemouth fan Neil Grover to preview the weekend meeting at Villa Park, all the latest at their clubs and the FPL assets of interest with both clubs playing in the Blank and having a double Gameweek in 29. Villa will appeal particularly this week, should Ollie Watkins be a shoo-in for FPL managers? Whose the best of the Villa defenders to target? (we find out it's complicated!) and what about the prospects for Leon Bailey and Emi Buendia? While Bournemouth shouldn't be overlooked neccessarily either, Philip Billing is on a fine run of form and there's a strong case made for Neto, Dango Outtara and Dominic Solanke who could all offer solutions, particularly for those looking to Bench Boost in GW29. Plus, can Villa make a late run for a European spot and Bournemouth will believe with their remaining fixtures (they only play one of the top 8 between now and the end of the season) that they can prove the doubters wrong and beat the drop... James is joined by Brentford fan Tom Medd and Crystal Palace fan Migtavius to discuss all the latest at their clubs ahead of their GW24 London Derby and both clubs just became a little more interesting for FPL managers with a Double Gameweek announced for both in GW27. The Bees have only lost 4 times this season and are now 10 unbeaten. How good could the season turn out? Is European qualification now the aim? For Palace it's only 1 win in 10 and they haven't beaten a top half team this season. Why does it feel like Patrick Vieira's Eagles have stagnated this season? And are they still at risk of the drop? Plus, all the FPL assets with 27 in mind discussed including Ivan Toney, who's at risk of two different bans; the consistency of David Raya, alternatives to Ben Mee, why the Bees GW25 blank makes it awkward and if a likely imminent return of Wilfried Zaha can inspire interest in Palace, the only one of the 4 teams doubling in GW27 who have a confirmed fixture in GW28 Follow Tom on Twitter: (1) FPL Dummy Tom (@FPLDummyTom) / Twitter Follow Mig on Twitter: (2) Migtavius 🦅🇨🇨 (@Migtavius) / Twitter ___________________________________________ Want to become a member of our FPL and SkyFF community and support the Podcast? While Forest have more Premier League points in 2023 than any other club! Are they likely to pull further away from the relegation places or is a battle for survival still expected? Plus, is Aleksander Mitrovic 100% fit or do concerns persist? Can Brennan Johnson continue his hot streak?
