A very enjoyable weekend of football in the Premier League that included comebacks, momentum shifts and late drama and some FPL haulers too in the likes of (substitute) Joao Pedro and the Liverpool pair of Florian Wirtz and Hugo Ekitike. Pedro and other Chelsea assets will take on greater appeal should they overturn their Carabao Cup deficit at Arsenal. The team that progresses now has a confirmed Double Gameweek in 26 and that may influence forthcoming moves with both have attractive fixtures this weekend too. But Chelsea were given a big scare against West Ham, The Blues completed one of a number of comebacks this weekend, as did Liverpool against Newcastle and Tottenham showed fight to come back from two down against Manchester City, who slipped further behind Arsenal. Whilst Manchester United let their own two goal advantage slip, but still won, with Bruno Fernandes again returning well for those who captained him, and he's likely to be even more popular this forthcoming weekend. All the games covered as usual and all the key FPL points deliberated. On the first of two Clash of the Correspondents this week James is joined by Ipswich Town fan Paul Gaught-Allen and Arsenal fan Adam Pritchard to discuss the latest at their clubs ahead of Sunday's Double Gameweek 33 meeting at Portman Road. Arsenal assets will be popular this week for FPL managers, they are faced with arguably the most attractive fixtures in the Gameweek, but with the Champions League now clearly the priority with the Premier League title chase gone are they actually worth investing in? There's particular concern for those looking at long-term investment but also cautious warnings about the immediate Double, which those intending to go Mikel Arteta with the Assistant Manger Chip or/and Bulayo Saka with the captaincy should take particular note of. Should it be double defence or double attack for Free Hitters? There's discussion on all the important Arsenal FPL assets. Ipswich may not appeal for now, but they may well have the best final 4 fixtures, could the likes of Liam Delap appeal for late Wildcarders? And what are the prospects for 3.8 defender Ben Johnson, a scorer at Chelsea at the weekend, and playing on the right of midfield? And, there's discussion on The Gunners chances in the Champions League, what may happen to Ipswich next season and what can bridge the gap between The Championship and the Premier League. Ahead of Double Gameweek 32 James is joined by fans of the two doublers as Newcastle fan Simon Bibby and Crystal Palace fan Ruaidhri McLoughlin-Dowd guest on Clash of the Correspondents for detailed coverage on both clubs. There's coverage of key points on both teams, with deliberation on whether Alexander Isak should be Triple Captained for those still with the Chip, the fitness of Anthony Giordon, whether Harvey Barnes now offers a differential pick against the in-form Jacob Murphy and there's also coverage of Newcastle's back 4 and who would be best to pick up in FPL. There's discussion on Palace assets including coverage of the preference between Ismaila Sarr and Ebe Eze, the prospects for the popular Daniel Munoz and Jean-Phillipe Mateta, but what's the impact for The Eagles with Marc Guehi suspended for the first game at Manchester City? And how much could Palace rotate for their double double? Will anyone play all 4 games? Plus, there's chat on the Assistant Manager Chip chat, Newcastle's hopes for a Top 5 finish and the importance for Palace of their FA Cup semi final with Aston Villa. On Clash of the Correspondents James is joined by Manchester United fan Gary Robinson and Newcastle fan Simon Bibby to discuss the latest at their clubs ahead of their meeting at Old Trafford next Wednesday which is part of a Double Gameweek for both clubs. For the Red Devils morale appears to be on the floor following Monday's heavy loss at Crystal Palace with some now suggesting Erik Ten Hag shouldn't even make it as far as the Manchester FA Cup Final. Can The Dutchman stay in the job into next season? There's discussion on Manchester United's attempts to take Newcastle's Sporting Director Dan Ashworth and if it signals any concerns about Newcastle's longer-term plan. Is there also a need to sell one of their star players to comply with PSR? Plus, all the key FPL assets discussed, including thoughts on Bruno Fernandes' injury status, whether Alexander Isak is a legitimate captaincy option, the impact of Callum Wilson's return, best defensive assets from both clubs, whether Nick pope and Kieran Trippier are likely to start on Saturday and lots more... Clayton joins James for the Gameweek 33 review as there were big swings in the battle to finish first and fourth respectively after Liverpool and Arsenal both lost at home, with The Gunners beaten by Champions League chasing Aston Villa who are now favourites for fourth after Tottenham were dismantled at Newcastle. It was a difficult weekend for many FPL managers but those with Newcastle assets may have done particularly well and Erling Haaland returned well for captainers despite some fortune (or misfortune!) in his returns. All the games reviewed as usual with a focus very much on the forthcoming Double Gameweek that features Liverpool, Arsenal and a Crystal Palace team likely to get plenty of interest. Should managers also be looking at the 4 others team who double? And there's also a focus on the 6 teams who double in 37 and what Wildcarders may want to do in Gameweek 35. It's the Clash of the Correspondents where James doesn't really want either team to win as table topping Arsenal fan Adam Pritchard and top 4 chasing Aston Villa fan Lee Jackson guest to discuss the latest at their clubs and preview Sunday's meeting at The Emirates. There's discussion on each club's respective challenges in both the league and in Europe this season and there's plenty of FPL chat including best Arsenal options for this week, Double Gameweek 34 and whether GW35 Wildcarders would be right to overlook The Gunners. And should this be the end point for interest in FPL assets from Villa despite Ollie Watkins' incredible season? Plus, fixtures and form assesses, there's discussion on Arsenal's core players that should in the main be free from rotation fears and why injuries and suspensions have dented, but by no means finished, Villa's hopes of a top 4 finish. On Clash of the Correspondents James is joined by Bournemouth fan Neil Grover and Luton fan Dan Ashby as the two teams face each other to complete Double Gameweek 28. There's a heavy FPL focus on this one with full coverage of the assets across both teams. Dominic Solanke, fitness permitting, looks set to be captained by the majority of FPL managers, but should those who haven't used the Triple Captain chip go all in on The Cherries talisman? With Marcos Senesi now set to miss the double who is the best Bournemouth defensive option? Marcus Tavernier? Justin Kluivert or an alternative midfielder? Do alternative options at Luton such as Alfie Doughty and Ross Barkley offer more reliability than the Bournemouth options? Can any of the Luton enablers be trusted? And can selling Erling Haaland for Carlton Morris really be considered for those not Free Hitting in GW29? Plus, discussion on The Hatters hopes for survival, why Bourbnemouth may have not looked at their brest despite ending their winless run at Burnley and the Podcast begins with discussion on Tom Lockyer whose cardiac arrest when the sides originally met is why the sides will now meet again next Wednesday. Mo Salah is back in full training for Liverpool ahead of their Double Gameweek but should he be forced back in immediately for FPL managers? On James' live stream there's a heavy focus on the upcoming double, but which Brentford, Liverpool, Luton or Manchester City assets are worth getting? And how does that impact on the upcoming blanks of Gameweeks 26 & 29? For James it's now likely two transfers for a -4 and that is likely to be for two players that DON'T have a double and could it include the player that was regrettably sold last week!? Best enabling defensive options from both clubs covered and there are as many as 7 assets at 4.0 or under who are worth deliberating for Fantasy managers, including the now 3.9 Charlie Taylor; but will he stay in the team? Should United be concerned about falling outside of the top 4? 2 wins are needed and should they both arrive in the double, should FPL managers then be concerned about rotation in GW38 ahead of the FA Cup Final against treble chasing neighbours City? Just how bad has this season been for Chelsea? There's reflection on Graham Potter's reign, the interim spell with Frank Lampard and thoughts turn to the imminent apppointment of Mauricio Pochettino. Plus, Marcus Rashford's fitness, best United FPL assets discussed including if Bruno Fernandes should be forced in, if multiple defensive assets should be considered and differential Antony. On the first of two Clash of the Correspondents this week James welcomes Everton correspondent Sean Norton and Aston Villa correspondent Adam Hopcroft to discuss their GW34 meeting at Goodison Park. A fixture that is also likely to be repeated in GW35 which would mean a Double Gameweek for both teams. With the second Villa fixture still in hand could Everton yet make a late push for a Champions League place in the remaining Gameweeks? We discuss the switch to a back four in Friday's win at Arsenal and the FPL assets such as Lucas Digne & Dominic Calvert-Lewin who may appeal, especially with Sheffield United at home likley to follow a Double. With Villa it's easier to make an assessment of who is likely to play in the continued absence of talisman Jack Grealish but should their FPL assets appeal more than those at Everton? Can Emi Martinez again solve a Goalkeeping issue that many may have? And we discover why like it or not the two clubs can't be shaken from the minds of many FPL managers.
