Another horror weekend for Tottenham features heavily on the Gameweek Review Podcast as they lost the big 6 pointer against Nottingham Forest, meaning there could be another change of manager in the offing shortly. The only good news was West Ham lost too, and there were others higher up the league who will be feeling particularly disgruntled, with Newcastle losing the Tyne-Wear Derby despite taking an early lead and Chelsea were taken apart at Everton. And for FPL managers it's a time for calm with the Gameweek 32 deadline 18 days away and the FA Cup Quarter Finals likely to prove pivotal to strategy. But there's still plenty to speculate on and one of the teams who could suddenly become of serious interest is Brighton. Only 12 goals scored from 9 games so far in Gameweek 30 which means clean sheet returns for some, but lots of blankers for others. And the big winners once again may well have been Bruno Fernandes captainers who once again banked a double digit return at Old Trafford. All the games reviewed as Arsenal left it late, but extended their lead over Manchester City who dropped points at a resolute West Ham, but The Hammers still dind themselves in the bottom three after all their rivals also drew. 10 man Leeds held on fairly comfortably at Palace, Richarlison scored late to earn Tottenham an unlikely point at an underwhelming Liverpool who benched both Mo Salah and Hugo Ekitike, but Nottingham Forest it may feel like a missed opportunity after they failed to score against Fulham. Plus, a reminder of what could happen with the postponed Manchester City v Crystal Palace fixture, one and two week transfers on mind and longer-term views on players also covered for those without a Wildcard. Suj and James review all the football and key FPL talking points from the Gameweek 25 weekend which concluded with dramatic scenes at Anfield as Manchester City kept their title challenge alive. That win featured a late Erling Haaland haul, surpassing Bruno Fernandes own double digit haul against Tottenham, but neither were anywhere near Cole Palmer's 20 pointer as he recorded a first half hat-trick at Wolves. There were also key wins in the battle to survive as Leeds beat Nottingham Forest and West Ham won at Burnley were Crysensio Summerville scored for the fourth game in a row. On the review of the weekend football Suj and James reflect on yet another Gameweek where FPL points were hard to find and it all began before deadline with leaks that Erling Haaland and Phil Foden would not start for Manchester City. Trouble was, that for those who has the info, a change in captaincy didn't necessarily bring reward. So, with Mo Salah back, is dropping Haaland a genuine consideration? Aston Villa, Bournemouth and Chelsea all won and will have interest in their assets, and so too will Manchester United assets following their win at league leaders Arsenal. There was more frustration for James as Tottenham failed to win (and nearly lost at Burnley), but Suj's West Ham did make it back to back wins, trouble was Nottingham Forest one too. It was at the point that Crystal Palace announced their line-up at Fulham that James knew his luck was in. With Daniel Munoz absent from The Eagles squad with a knee injury, James was able to bank Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall's 16 points and laugh about some brilliant bench jam. And it was just as well because it was a painful week otherwise! Luck or skill? You need a bit of both in this game. Suj joins James for a review of all the weekend games as Aston Villa beat Arsenal late, it was a late win for Palace too at Fulham and West Ham also lost a late lead at Brighton. There was late carnage to at Elland Road as Liverpool blew a comfortable lead, but it was events after the game and Mo Salah's interview that may prove even more damaging for The Reds. Suj and James discuss the games and fallout from a dramatic Gameweek 14 so far as Manchester City won 5-4 away, Villa (found improvement) to win 4-3 at Brighton, Arsenal won again but it was a bad night for Chelsea at Elland Road and Liverpool were again underwhelming as they drew with Sunferland. The City victory saw Erling Haaland walk away with three attacking returns but the headlines for Fantasy owners were more about the returns for Phil Foden who now has more FPL points in his past two than the previous 12 weeks. Should non owners steam in? Before buying the prospect of further rotation for assets should be considered in a week where predictably many players were given a rest, but perhaps it was more than just a rest for Mo Salah as he was benched again. The good news is the midweek rotation can be turned into an advantage in many scenarios in a week where everyone should be making at least one transfer ahead of receiving five free transfers in GW16. All the games covered, James has an enabling transfer on mind and even managed to come away from St James's Park with a dramatic late draw. It's a Gameweek Review debut for David Hunter as he joins James, but the timing could hardly have been worse as David's Liverpool were humbled 3-0 at Anfield by Nottingham Forest. Still, David can share his pain with James who watched on from The Emirates as Tottenham were destroyed at The Emirates with Eberechi Eze scoring a hat-trick. The pain, is obvious. Suj and James discuss all the football and FPL consequences from Gameweek 11 where for many there was difficulty to find points as once again many template selections failed to deliver. There's a Wildcard active, but is it Suj or James that's seen enough of their underperforming stars? Much of the theme of this Podcast is a search for players to pick for Wildcarders, but there's difficulty in locking down the right players from the teams with the best upcoming fixtures. One such team is Liverpool, who were beaten handsomely by Manchester City, whose 3-0 victory with Jeremy Doku starring felt like a statement win in pursuit of Arsenal, who were finally breached as they dropped points late on at Sunderland. Tottenham too dropped points against Manchester United, having come from behind as Arsenal did, whilst Chelsea and Aston Villa both won comfortably on home soil, but there are concerns for some and their form on their travels, including Leeds United and a Newcastle United that again lost a lead and were beaten at Brentford. Suj and James review all the action from Gameweek 8 which included some extraodinary individual showings as Erling Haaland recorded another brace, Jean-Philippe Mateta scoring a hat-trick but underperforming (!) his xG on the day and Cody Gakpo scored, hit the woodwork three times and missed a sitter. Those Gakpo misses were in a rare Anfield Liverpool defeat that means it's four defeats in a row for The Champions in all competitions. What's going wrong? Manchester United were the victors at Anfield and now may feel they can put a consistent run of results together. Plus, Ange Postecoglu's spell in charge of Nottingham Forest is over, Crystal Palace and Bournemouth was carnage, Tottenham's poor showings finally caught up with them, while Burnley and Sunderland defensive assets rewarded the FPL managers who started them or used them as part of a Bench Boost. While Arsenal and Chelsea assets continue to appeal following away wins and clean sheets recorded with Gabriel and Reece James the biggest returners. It was a week that begun with Antoine Semenyo hauling again and finished with another goal for Erling Haaland, but the final card for many reads could've done better and that's the case for both Suj and James on the Gameweek 7 Review. Liverpool lost again with another blank for Mohamed Salah in their late defeat at Chelsea which means Arsenal, victors against Suj's West Ham, are now top, but it was a disappointing day for Viktor Gyokeres owners. James' Tottenham are now third but the result was again better than the display in victory at Leeds where Mohammed Kudus starred and returned well. Gameweek 1 is nine tenths done and though there are some outstanding scores out there it has been a tough weekend for many FPL managers with a number of popular FPL assets blanking. All 9 games covered in detail and a theme from the weekend is a number of cheap midfield options performing well, and none have attracted more attention in the FPL Community than Manchester City's Tijani Reijnders, who is already up to 5.6 and likely to see continued investment. So was his dominant performance at Wolves a one-off or a sign of things to come? Antoine Semenyo and Hugo Ekitike are also early price risers following returns in an exciting Friday opener where there were mixed returns for FPL managers. Plus, players on radar for those on a Free Hit in GW2 feature not just Arsenal, Bournemouth and City assets, but those from Chelsea and Villa who blanked in 0-0 draws could be worth keeping ahead of respective trips to Brentford and West Ham who both conceded three on the road. So too, did Burnley, and there was more tactical variety on show from Thomas Frank's Tottenham who may well change system again at the weekend when they go to The Etihad. A good weekend for Kevin's, as De Bruyne's winner sealed victory for Manchester City against Wolves, and Brentford's Schade got two in victory for Brentford against Manchester United. But it was largely another week where many popular assets underperformed again. Suj and James review all the weekend games which included a surprise loss for Arsenal against Bournemouth and the top 5 race intensified with 6 teams scrapping for four places; wjilst there's still a Conference League place for four other teams to potentially fight over. Suj and James discuss the fallout from a weekend where many Free Hitters saw success with many assets from the popular teams did well, and for a change there were some defensive heroes in the likes of Jose Sa, Rayan Ait-Nouri, Kieran Trippier and Ryan Sessegnon all hauling. There's discussion on all the games as usual as Liverpool confirmed themselves as Champions following their demolition of Tottenham, and the relegation picture is also done after ten man Ipswich lost at Newcastle. Suj and James discuss the 10 games played so far in Double Gameweek 33 where despite ther teams doubling scoring twelve and conceding only once it felt like the majority of FPL managers missed those who hauled. Suj and James discuss the weekend's Premier League football and it was largely another low scoring week for Fantasy managers with Mo Salah amongst many popular assets who blanked. But with Alexander Isak and Newcastle assets still to go at Leicester the outlook could look very different by the end of the day. Newcastle of course double next, as do Crystal Palace who beat rivals Brighton, but not without issues as Marc Guehi was sent off but Daniel Munoz, Ebe Eze and Jean-Phillipe Mateta all returned well. Then there's three further doubles in Gameweek 33, Arsenal and Man City both underwhelmed as they drew on the road but Villa did beat Forest, though they did it was a heavily rotated team, and there may be more heavily roattion to come across Gameweeks 32 and 33 that may concern those looking to Bench Boost. Suj and James review the weekend of Double Gameweek 24 that rewarded many that invested in doublers from Everton and Liverpool, which included those activating the Assistant Manager Chip on Arne Slot or David Moyes, but also those who held their nerve and activated the Triple Captaincy on Mohamed Salah who scored both in The Reds 2-0 victory at Bournemouth. Friday's announcement of at least one Double in Gameweek 25 has changed the landscape for FPL managers again and there's discussion on each of the 6 teams who could Double in 26 and the players that may well be sought under different permutations. But with the transfer window closing today and important Cup fixtures to be played before Gameweek 25 now is a good time for FPL managers to take stock and seek further information before acting. Suj and James review the 9 games played so far in Gameweek 19 as we approach the halfway point of the season and interesting both sit on 75 points despite Suj going against (The King) Mo Salah for captaincy. Clayton joins James for a review of GW14 in a week where Arsenal won from corners and Tottenham lost from one, but that's not the only reason Tottenham lost, and James is in a mood this morning following the dismal showing at Bournemouth. He did at least have some reason to cheer via FPL means as Alexander Isak was held and returned well in Newcastle's thrilling draw against Liverpool, but Mo Salah dominated again with another monster haul. The Egyptian King is now up to a barely believable 151 FPL Points for the season. Clayton's gameweek meanwhile was somewhat saved by an Arsenal player and The Gunners ran out winners against a Manchester United team, who impressed with their structure, if not their threat. Suj and James discuss all the weekend GW9 games as James hit gold with Bryan Mbeumo captaincy to take on Erling Haaland who despite some very big chances only scored once against Southampton - and now with Cole Palmer, Bukayo Saka and Mohamed Salah all scoring yesterday, some may be getting twitchy as to the value of the £15.4m forward. Suj and James review all the key talking points from the Gameweek 8 weekend and for many it was an FPL weekend to forget with many popular assets blanking, but there were success stories to be found with the likes of Mo Salah, Heung-Min Son (perhaps controversially) and Ollie Watkins returning well. Son, was gambled on by a number of FPL managers just before deadline with concern surrounding Bukayo Saka, who wouldn't feature in The Gunners first defeat of the season at Bournemouth. Did those managers have inside information on Saka's absence!? James is holding on to a place just inside the top 10k, but his biggest joy of the weekend was seeing success for Tottenham in the Planet FPL Derby, which features heavily in a Gameweek Review that also covers how Chelsea impressed despite defeat at Liverpool. Suj has seen enough and despite a strong start to his FPL season the Wildcard is now active! An Oasis of joy for Erling Haaland Captainers and Triple Captainers as the big man took home the match ball on Saturday and he wasn't the only hat-trick scorer this weekend as Noni Madueke also hit a treble - all assisted by cold Cole Palmer - as The Blues scored six at Wolves. The Planet FPL Gameweek Review returns as Suj and James discuss the nind games played so far in Gameweek 1 and it was a great weekend for many who attacked the opening weekend fixtures as several top players returned well and clean sheets were on the rise with Arsenal, Liverpool, the Manchester clubs and Newcastle all managing to keep out their opponents. There's tactical insight to the games and as usual a slant towards FPL thinking with much of the advice given that managers should hold their nerve on the majority of selections and that may even include one or two players who didn't start this weekend. Suj and James review the weekend of Gameweek 35 and for many Wildcarders it wasn't the success that many had hoped for (so far), particularly with Arsenal's Kai Havertz and Bukayo Saka returning well in Arsenal's North London Derby victory that has left James with a sore throat. Clayton joins James for the Gameweek 33 review as there were big swings in the battle to finish first and fourth respectively after Liverpool and Arsenal both lost at home, with The Gunners beaten by Champions League chasing Aston Villa who are now favourites for fourth after Tottenham were dismantled at Newcastle. We may only be halfway through Gameweek 21 but it's been another drama fuelled week and it began pre deadline with Suj missing Friday's deadline and wait until you hear who the captaincy is on! While for James it's been a slow start to the FPL week, but we are only halfway through. There's discussion on the 5 games played so far which saw controversy at Burnley, Cole Palmer rewarding captainers with the only goal for Chelsea against Fulham, Manchester City won a brilliant game at Newcastle, it was goalless at Goodison and Tottenham twice came from behind to earn a point at Old Trafford. But we need to talk about Kevin De Bruyne. Back with a goal and assist to help turn the game around on Saturday, can FPL managers ignore him with money in the bank and brilliant fixtures on the horizon which now includes a Double Gameweek!? On the Gameweek 20 Review Suj and James discuss all the drama from the games so far and it began with Cole Palmer hauling and ended with Mo Salah hauling after missing a 1st half penalty. Elsewhere there was disappointment for Manchester United and Arsenal in defeats at Nottingham Forest and Fulham, Tottenham were 'lucky' again and Wolves dominated Everton. On the agenda for many FPL managers will now be finding replacements for departing AFCON and Asia Cup players including Mo Salah and Heung-Min Son and the Podcast has a theme of midfield replacements under consideration throughout, but also a warning of why the final decision shouldn't need to be made just yet. It's green arrows for Suj and James on the Gameweek 19 Review but very different fortunes for their teams on a dramatic Thursday night as Brighton scored four against Tottenham at The Amex and West Ham caused a shock by winning 2-0 at Arsenal. And they weren't the only surprises this week as Chris Wood scored a stunning hat-trick in Nottingham Forest's victory at Newcastle, while Wolves were another team to score big as they scored four at Brentford and there were some surprising bonus points for offensive FPL defenders. All the games covered, including Manchester United's comeback victory against Aston Villa and Manchester City looked back to their best at Everton with Phil Foden the star of the show. And there's lots to debate ahead of tomorrow's GW20 FPL Deadline, with several great options for captaincy and some extreme benching headaches for some may lead to an activation of a number of Bench Boost chips. But there are warnings of more potential weekend rotation and notes that although GW20 may look great on paper for many FPL managers GW21 needs to be kept in mind, particularly with so many players leaving for AFCON and the Asia Cup. On The Gameweek Review Podcast, reflections on James' Wildcard and it's been some time... but Suj missed the Deadline and he's now stuck with 3 Manchester City assets heading into GW18. All the games reviewed, there were some daft red cards, Villa and Tottenham assets are likely to be particularly popular heading into GW18 and there's an assessment of the Tottenham midfield assets and the likely Villa line-up. Manchester United thwarted an under par Liverpool, Newcastle got back to winning ways and Everton made it 4 wins on the spin without conceding and there's discussion on the team who changed tactics and may have regretted it. It always seemed likely to be a tough weekend for Fantasy managers with many faced with conflicting issues and that has proved to be the case for many, including Suj and James, who reflect on their underwhelming weekends during the Gamewwek 13 Review. All the games discussed including another mad Tottenham game that ended in defeat to Villa side that's up to 4th, West Ham won it late, as did Arsenal who went top following the City-Liverpool draw, while Chelsea lost heavily at Newcastle, it was a great weekend for Luton and Alejandro Garnacho scored one of 'the' great Premier League goals at Goodison Park. Last night at The Thirsty Bear Pub in Central London Suj and James welcomed an audience of Fantasy Football managers for the Gameweek Review and it was a Gameweek that will live long in the memory for being one of the lowest scoring weeks in memory for engaged managers with Erling Haaland off at half time against Bournemouth with a 1 point return and Mo Salah fared only 1 point better at Luton! All the games reviewed, which included Bruno Fernandes winning it late for Manchester United at Fulham, the controversy surrounding Newcastle's win against Arsenal, Brentford's topsy turvy victory against West Ham that was ultimately deserved in the end, Jeremy Doku's massive haul and the disappointing Aston Villa and Liverpool.
