The Reds opened up a three-goal advantage at the half-time break following an impressive opening 45 minutes, which saw goals from Luis Diaz, Cody Gakpo and Mohamed Salah. After the interval, Trent Alexander-Arnold added to the scoreline for Arne Slot's men, while substitute Diogo Jota put the finishing touches on the game in the latter stages, helping move Liverpool eight points clear at the top of the standings in style. Suj and James review the weekend of Gameweek 17 that provided some monster scores as Mo Salah returned his biggest FPL haul of his incredible season as Liverpool won 6-3 at Tottenham, while Arsenal were also big scorers this weekend as they hit 5 at Crystal Palace. Options are considered throughout he Podcast, including spreading the money and could that even bring a rout back to Erling Haaland in time for Manchester City's enticing next 5 fixtures!? Question is, after City's latest setback at Villa, where Morgan Rogers (benched my many) hauled, do FPL managers have any confidence to invest in Pep's men? Plus, brilliant Bournemouth, Nottingham Forest's tactical tweak, Everton's strength in defence, Trent Alexander-Arnold acises a big debate, Alexander Isak is on fire and plenty more... Dave Jones presents Super Sunday from the Tottenham Hotspur stadium alongside Les Ferdinand, Jamie Redknapp, and Jamie Carragher and they analysed all the talking points from a very eventful game which saw league-leaders Liverpool score six times, which guaranteed them to be top of the table at Christmas. Redknapp described Liverpool’s performance as ‘incredible’ and said they exposed every weakness of Tottenham. Carragher agreed and felt the scoreline could have been much worse for the hosts. Trent Alexander-Arnold once again produced an eye-catching performance, and with the full-back's contract still to be resolved, Carra believes he would be remembered as one of the greats to play for the club if he does decide to stay at Anfield. Ange Postecoglou reacted after the match, saying it was a painful day for Spurs as they could not compete at the same level as the hosts. In contrast, Arne Slot was obviously delighted with his players’ display and felt it was their best away performance of the season despite conceding three times. Pat Davison also speaks to goalscorer Mo Salah and Tottenham captain Son Heung-Min.
