Dan Bardell reunites the Sunday night England Show podcast team of Flo Lloyd-Hughes and Carl Anka to review another 1-0 win for England. Gareth Southgate's side finished top of Group D with seven points and three clean sheets. Jordan Henderson and Harry Maguire got valuable match minutes, and surprise starter Bukayo Saka gave an excellent performance. Yet, there were still moans. It wasn't the most eventful second half, and Harry Kane looked a little sluggish again. So, have we got what it takes to beat France, Germany, or Portugal? Hosted on Acast. Matt Davies Adams, Tom Williams, and Daniel Storey are here as England top Group D and as Scotland bid farewell to their first tournament in 23 years. So Scotland are out but what does it mean? We ask The Athletic's Jordan Campbell who's live at Hampden for his reflections on a heartbreaking night for the Tartan Army. More positive scenes over at Wembley though, well for 12 minutes anyway, as Sterling netted again and England top the group and look at facing, erm, France/Germany/Portugal/Hungary! Speaking of which tomorrow is today and today is the last day of the group stages, and there are still two groups to sort out. Namely Group E and F where it's looking concerning for Spain and rather brighter for Germany. All that plus we hit a few bum notes. Game 2 and things are a bit problematic; Kris, Jez and Phil look back over a 1-1 draw with Hungary, and the build-up to the key final game on Wednesday against Portugal. Also, Germany's bounce-back against the title-holders, and the sad loss of a legend of social media. Shortly after the game, it was announced that Philippe Vignolo - @Philousports on Twitter - had died of a heart attack. It's a measure of his 'petite notorieté' (his words) that this was announced mid-match by Omar da Fonseca on live TV, various France players paid homage to him just hours after they had got off the pitch, and the French press, sporting and not, have published tributes. Au revoir, Philou. Tu nous manques déjà...

Game 1 is done! Kris, Jez and Phil analyse France 1 - 0 Germany - the selection, the system, the silkiness... Also Hungary's crumble against Portugal in the other Group F game, Phil's boss, and how TV dealt with Christian Eriksen's collapse.

Matt Davies-Adams, Adam Crafton and Tom Williams react to a certain CR7's latest records and our first heavy weight fight. Tuesday night brought us the good, the bad, and the possibly ugly as France beat Germany 1-0. We ask is this France instilling fear? Did Germany deserve a draw? And did Rudiger have a little nibble? Speaking of bites, over in Hungary our early evening entertainment, well it didn't get going until 80 minutes in but not even the clock can beat Cristiano Ronaldo from breaking records. Onto the next round then and it's all eyes on Italy who have really set a marker. Up next for them Switzerland who inspire an Orson Welles quote. On the other side of the table it's the slightly more disappointing Wales and Turkey who face off. And finally we finish with the Finnish as they take on Russia. RUNNING ORDER: • PART 1: France 1-0 Germany (02m 30s) • PART 2a: Hungary 0-3 Portugal (13m 00s) • PART 3a: Turkey v Wales preview with Yordi Yamali (21m 30s) • PART 3b: Italy v Switzerland preview with James Horncastle (32m 00s) • PART 3c: Finland v Russia preview (36m 30s) • PART 4: The odds with Paddy Power (40m 30s) • PART 5a: On This Day – France secure their place in the knockout round of Euro 2000 (42m 50s) • PART 5b: Rash Predictions (47m 00s) SIGN UP TO THE ATHLETIC FOR £1 A MONTH FOR YOUR FIRST 6 MONTHS: • theathletic.com/totally GET IN TOUCH: • follow us on Instagram • find us on Facebook • send us a tweet: @TheTotallyShow PARISH NOTICES: • we’re sponsored by Paddy Power - home of the Money Back Special READ STUFF ON OUR WEBSITE: • check out thetotallyfootballshow.com.
