Jimbo’s back with part 1 of our preview of Euro 2020, in the company of Michael Cox, Tom Williams and Sasha Goryunov. The Three Lions head into essentially a home tournament as favourites. Paul Ince tells us what life inside the camp was like at Euro 96. Are England and Croatia worse than we think they are? And are Scotland and Czech Republic better? Can Wales match their semi-final exploits of 5 years ago, with or without a striker? They’re in the same group as a young Turkey side who we’re very excited about watching. James Horncastle gives us the latest on Roberto Mancini’s Italy, unbeaten in 3 years and finally building the team around their best players. Kristof Terreur explains why Belgium’s golden generation are keen to play down their chances of a first major tournament victory. Plus how Michael incurred the wrath of the Finnish football fans. RUNNING ORDER: • PART 1a: Looking forward to the Euros but not the mascots (02m 00s) • PART 1b: Group D – England the favourites, with Paul Ince (05m 45s) • PART 1c: Group D – Scotland, Croatia & Czech Republic (19m 00s) • PART 2a: Group A – Wales, Turkey & Switzerland (25m 00s) • PART 2b: Group A – James Horncastle on Italy’s chances (36m 00s) • PART 3a: Group B – Denmark & Finland (46m 30s) • PART 3b: Group B – Kristof Terreur on Belgium’s golden generation (52m 00s) • PART 3c: Group B – Sasha’s beloved Russia (57m 30s) • PART 4: The odds with Paddy Power (62m 00s) • PART 5: Brief thoughts on the Group of Death (64m 00s) SIGN UP TO THE ATHLETIC FOR £1 A MONTH FOR YOUR FIRST 6 MONTHS: • theathletic.com/totally GET IN TOUCH: • follow us on Instagram • find us on Facebook • send us a tweet: @TheTotallyShow PARISH NOTICES: • we’re sponsored by Paddy Power - home of the Money Back Special READ STUFF ON OUR WEBSITE: • check out thetotallyfootballshow.com. Alexi and Mosse open the show with a recap of USMNT’s 2-1 loss against Switzerland, give a preview to their match vs. Honduras in the CONCACAF Nations League finals, and give an MLS week 7 recap (11:10). The guys then talk about the Copa America relocation from Argentina to Brazil, UEFA Champions final, pride in Christian Pulisic, Pep Guardiola’s legacy takes hit, and why Alexi doesn’t think N’Golo Kante deserves the Ballon D’Or (26:30). They react to the numerous coaching changes, including Zinedine Zidane, Andrea Pirlo, Antonio Conte and more. In #AskAlexi, fans ask if Christian Pulisic ranks higher than Landon Donovan with his recent UCL win, and a young player asks if it’s better to play college or sign a pro contract in US or Europe. We have an audio question where fan asks about an upcoming Juventus documentary and what teams Alexi and Mosse would like to see (1:19:17) Finally, Alexi caps the show with his “One for the Road,” where he gives a Memorial Day salute. We had a little international / Easter break of our own, so Kris, Jez and Phil have a lot to round up this week. France drew with Ukraine and beat Kazakhstan and Bosnia-Herzogovina in World Cup qualifying, and the U21s lost to Denmark and beat Russia and Iceland to progress to the quarter-finals of the Euros. Then we had a key set of games on Saturday in Ligue 1 as Lille beat PSG, Monaco beat Metz and Lyon drew at Lens to throw the top of the table into a spin, and elsewhere there were concussions, penalties, red cards and much more besides.

The Purely Arsenal podcast (@purelyarsenalFP) is brought to you with host Jack Sessions (@Jack10Gooner) and special guests James Johnstone (@LLcoolJames91) and Neil Shah (@Neilby70). A very Merry Xmas as Arsenal finally win a league game with the 3-1 win over Chelsea at the Emirates. We discuss the line up and omissions of Willian,Luiz and Gabriel and whether changes were intended or forced. We talk in detail about the front 4 performance with specific emphasis on Martinelli's energy and the intelligence of Smith Rowe. We discuss the performance and how it provided what Arteta had once got out of his senior players, pressing high and all energy. Plus lots more with another redemption for Granit Xhaka, a look at Pablo Mari, fans questions and much much more!
