City win the Manchester derby, more questions for Amorim and a wild derby d’Italia

Ruben Amorim lost his first Manchester derby on the weekend, to Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City, and there were more questions for the United manager, who has had an underwhelming start to the season. Musa and Ryan chat about the game (04:04), plus whether Amorim is giving himself enough of a chance to get United into a position to implement his system properly, before a quick round-up of the rest of the Premier League, including another late win for Liverpool (24:48). Next it’s onto the brilliant derby d’Italia, which saw Juventus win it late, 4-3 against Inter (32:09), plus St. Pauli’s best start to a Bundesliga season ever (40:21), while Bayern maintain their 100% record and, in Spain, Barcelona put six past Valencia, despite a late relocation for the game and Thomas Müller is having fun in Vancouver. Underwhelming England head to Serbia + dream debuts in the WSL

Jimbo's got Matt Davies-Adams, Michael Cox and Tom Williams alongside him to run the rule over a busy weekend of international qualifiers and WSL action. England's 2-0 victory over Andorra at Villa Park was perhaps predictably drab, but it was goals galore elsewhere and records broken for the likes of Spain, Belgium and the Netherlands - not to mention emotional scenes in Buenos Aires after Lionel Messi's last match on home soil with Argentina. There's a chance to reflect on the news that broke late on Thursday that Daniel Levy is to leave Tottenham after nearly 25 years as the league’s longest-serving executive chairman. And the brand new WSL season got underway in some style with Chelsea continuing their remarkable unbeaten run, Olivia Smith scoring a banger on her Emirates debut - and Ornella Vignola bagging a hat-trick on her debut at Anfield in the Merseyside derby! We've got epic away days, BBQs, sinkholes and Italy actually looking good in a World Cup qualifier for once... Produced by Charlie Jones and Lucy Oliva. RUNNING ORDER: • PART 1: World Cup qualifiers round up (00.50) • PART 2: England 2-0 Andorra (18.30) • PART 3: Truro City's very, very, very long journey, the magic of non-league and the rest of the qualifying action (27.05) • PART 4: Fallout from Daniel Levy's shock Tottenham departure (40.10) • PART 5: A look back on the WSL opening weekend (44.20) Hosted on Acast. Roldan called into camp, Uruguay reports, what to expect from Son & co. | USA vs. South Korea preview & predictions (Soccer 9/4)

Jimmy Conrad, Charlie Davies, and Tony Meola gear up for Saturday’s friendly between the USMNT and South Korea with a jam-packed preview. But first, reaction to reports that the U.S. will face Uruguay in the November window (04:30)? Cristian Roldan joins as the 25th man on the roster, and the crew debates why Mauricio Pochettino opted to bring in another midfielder (10:05). John Shin, aka GoodVibesJohn, drops by to break down South Korea’s form and explain why their fanbase isn’t as hyped for the World Cup as you might expect (25:29). Then it’s all about the starting XI projections: Will Josh Sargent or Folarin Balogun lead the line (43:58), and which players have the most to gain from this international break (53:43)? Leverkusen call time on ten Hag as Vardy arrives in Serie A

Jimbo’s got James Horncastle, Seb Stafford-Bloor, Pol Ballús and Julien Laurens alongside him for a whole lot of European football chit-chat after an eventful transfer deadline day. We begin over in Italy, where Jamie Vardy’s now having a party in Cremona after his late move to newly-promoted Cremonense. Speaking of strikers - will the arrival of Rasmus Hojlund cement Napoli’s status as favourites for the Serie A title? Next stop - Ligue 1 - where it was goals galore on Saturday, as Lille put seven past Lorient in an extraordinary second half showing and Toulouse v PSG finished 3-6 with a Joao Neves masterclass… where he scored a hat-trick featuring two overhead kicks! Over in the Bundesliga, Erik ten Hag’s short and fraught spell as Bayer Leverkusen manager was brought to a swift end following their collapse against 10 men in Saturday’s 3-3 draw at Bremen. So where did it all go so wrong? And where do they turn next? And in La Liga, Barcelona felt the benefit of VAR going awry - but they could only draw with Rayo Vallecano as Real Madrid took advantage as they continued their perfect start to the campaign under Xavi Alonso. All that - plus the curse of being a former Manchester United manager, unsavoury scenes at the Leagues Cup final in Seattle - and the Sound of Music! Produced by Lucy Oliva. RUNNING ORDER: • PART 1: A deep dive into Salzburg - and some moments of the week! (00.45) • PART 2: Serie A review: Vardy's latest party and are we sleeping on Juve? (09.15) • PART 3: Ligue 1 review: Neves' perfect performance (24.20) • PART 4: Who'd be an ex-Man United boss? Plus chaos in Seattle (36.00) • PART 5: Bundesliga review: ten Hag's Leverkusen nightmare (41.20) • PART 6: La Liga review: Barca blink first as Antony returns a hero (59.50) Hosted on Acast.
