34 goals in the second round of Ligue 1, with comebacks, red cards, players being sent to train with the reserves, managers doing their previous clubs - Kris, Jez, Phil and Rich try to pick out the best (and worst) performances of a chaotic weekend.

We’re underway in Spain and Germany, with Italy soon to follow. Jimbo, James Horncastle, Raphael Honigstein, Julien Laurens and Alvaro Romeo have your back on all things continental. Dortmund come flying out the blocks in the Bundesliga with Erling Haaland stealing the show on matchweek 1. Is he the new R9? Pique is the hero on and off the pitch for Barcelona as Memphis channels Ronaldinho in La Liga. Looking ahead to the start of the Serie A season, will there be a big 7? And can Mourinho rediscover his mojo? In France, Messi is unveiled and Galtier hammers the champions on his return to Lille. But who got a 1/10 in L’Equipe? And we pay tribute to the great Gerd Muller. Scorer, singer, weaver. The European edition returns with your preferred pod posse of Jimbo, James Horncastle, Julien Laurens, Raphael Honigstein and Alvaro Romeo. Lionel Messi becomes a PSG player and will be starring in Ligue 1. Why all the cynicism? Could Messi have made a more romantic move? Can anyone see past Juventus returning to the top under Max Allegri? Will Mourinho keep inspiring mass brawls at Roma? New gaffers galore in Germany. Ligue 1 kicked off at the weekend and there were goals, comebacks, arrests and more. Also, a small matter of Lionel Messi leaving/etc Barcelona. Kris, Jez, Rich and Phil are all over all of that - and who to watch out for as the season progresses.

We're back! Kris, Jez, Phil and Rich - the band is back together. Mere minutes after the end of last season, when Lille beat PSG to the title and PSG again failed to win the Champions League, the Euros went badly, the French men's team went 100% Ripoll at the Olympics, and French sports journalism now has TV rights specialists on the books, we are *back*. Trophee de Champions, new teams, new players, new managers, new subscriptions needed - we're ready for the first round of Ligue 1 at the weekend
Alexi and Mosse open the show with a conversation Senior Soccer Editor at Sporting News and former MLS editor-in-chief Simon Borg on all things MLS, USMNT World Cup predictions, and Christian Pulisic’s potential for stardom in the UCL final (04:35). The guys then preview the UEFA Champions League final, talk about Thomas Tuchel’s incredible run with Chelsea and Pep Guardiola’s legacy (42:52). They react to the Premier League’s last crazy match day for UCL qualifications; Atletico Madrid winning La Liga; Lille topping Paris-Saint Germain in League One, Juventus and AC Milan qualifying for UCL. In #AskAlexi (1:20:28), fans call in and ask about Mosse’s best XI Brazil team, covering soccer for a living, Liga MX in Copa Libertadores, and more. Finally, Alexi caps the show with his “One for the Road,” where he answers a fan’s questions clarifying his stands in the Columbus Crew rebrand. Learn more about your ad choices. Seb and JJ are holding the fort again; under discussion: the final games of the season across Europe. Why are Everton so thoroughly quite good?! Lille are crowned French champions, Atleti seal victory in La Liga, and Callum Davidson is everyone's hero as St Johnstone win the cup... twice! The last UCL places are decided in England and Italy with Leicester suffering disappointment again and, much to Seb's dismay, Juventus scraping home without Cristiano Ronaldo. Hosted on Acast. Jimbo brings you the final European edition of the season with James Horncastle, Raphael Honigstein, Alvaro Romeo and Julien Laurens. Atletico are La Liga champions for the first time in 7 years as we salute Trippier, Correa and Simeone. Is it bye bye Zidane and bye bye Koeman? Will we see Raul v Xavi in the dugout for El Clasico next season? And there’s no Ramos – or any Real players – in Spain’s Euro squad. Lille seal their first title in 10 years, as Pochettino washes his hands of PSG’s second place finish. Hear why Lille’s manager might be leaving for mid-table Nice. Juventus finish in the top 4 as Napoli blow it. But will Antonio Conte still be Inter manager next season? Will everyone be switching jobs? Plus Lewandowski – record breaker. And Henry Kissinger’s favourite team. After a chaotic final day, Kris, Jez and Phil round up the final standings - Lille win their first title since 2011, PSG are pushed to second place, Nantes have a play-off to contend with, nobody really understands the Europa Conference League, *all* the managers are moving around, and who were the nicest team this season...

Musa and Ryan chat about Atlético Madrid securing its first league title since 2014 (7:43), Lille’s first Ligue 1 title in 10 years (25:10), Union Berlin’s European qualification, plus some Bundesliga relegation (38:45) and Juventus scraping into the Champions League spots in Serie A (45:20). Checking into a continental football hotel, it’s Jimbo, James Horncastle, Rafa Honigstein, Julien Laurens and Alvaro Romeo. The title races in Spain and France are going right down to the wire as Lille slip up but are still a point ahead while Atletico strike late to stay 2 points clear heading into the final day. Dortmund secure silverware and a top 4 finish which might be enough to hang on to their stars. Sporting are champions of Portugal for the first time in 19 years, with a young team and a very young and talented manager. Seb, Alex and JJ shake off the creaks and wobwebs of a Monday morning as they chat through (most of) the weekend’s Premier League action, with an important sojourn to Ligue 1 to acknowledge football's latest fairytale. On the agenda: a mock-up, or should that be a mockery, of this year's Champions League final, the increasingly entertaining Mason Greenwood, and Willian’s return to the scoresheet. Hosted on Acast. Jimbo and the Euro crew of James Horncastle, Rafa Honigstein, Julien Laurens and Alvaro Romeo take apart another dramatic weekend across the continent. Lille are closing in on a first title in 10 years as we pay tribute to their recruitment. Meanwhile PSG are purchasing Prince vinyl. Bayern Munich are champions of Germany again and have their eyes on 10 in a row. Can Lewandowski break Gerd Muller’s Bundesliga goals record this season? Dortmund are back in the top 4 thanks to their saviour Sancho. Is he still underrated outside of Germany? Milan destroy a Juventus team who are jaded and playing without purpose. Will they miss out on the top 4 and lose Ronaldo? Or could they even be thrown out of Serie A? And the top 4 in Spain all go head to head. But will it be head to head that decides the title? As the season burns to a close, Kris, Jez and Phil look back over PSG's exit from the Champions' League, complications in Ligue 1, promotions from Ligue 2, and the upcoming Coupe de France semi-finals.

Musa and Ryan whiz around Europe after a weekend that saw many champions crowned. They begin with Chelsea securing the Women’s Super League on the final day of the season (6:28), while Bayern will have to wait following a 1-1 draw with Wolfsburg in the Frauen Bundesluiga (11:35). Meanwhile, Chelsea’s Champions League final opponent, Barcelona, did secure the Primera title with eight games to go (14:04) and the Portland Thorns won the NSWL Challenge Cup (16:15). On the men’s side, Bayern secured their ninth straight Bundesliga title thanks to Dortmund’s win over RB Leipzig, which also moved Dortmund into the Champions League places. Plus, they discuss some other talking points around the league (17:31). The next stop is the Premier League, where Thomas Tuchel landed another blow to Pep Guardiola's side (27:41) and Newcastle and Everton won big matches (41:37). Meanwhile, nobody wants to win La Liga (49:03), Juventus slip out of the Serie A Champions League places (52:53) and PSG lose ground to Lille in Ligue 1 (54:48). It's been a very busy week, and Kris, Jez and Phil have a special guest to talk about PSG's performances in both domestic and European competition - Matt Gooding aka @PSGTourist. Lyon beat Monaco to probably screw up the principality's hopes of the title, PSG struggled more than you'd think against Lens, Lille beat ten men who didn't get a shot off (Nice), and that's before you look at the Champions' League.

So much football! Musa and Ryan begin in France, with Lille coming from two goals down to beat Lyon and return to the top of Ligue 1 after PSG’s win had pushed them ahead just 24 hours before (05:36). While the title is pretty much wrapped up in the Bundesliga, Mainz made Bayern wait a bit longer to confirm it (11:24), winning 2-1, and there’s a heap of praise for the job Bo Svensson is doing, plus chat about the Champions League spots with Dortmund closing the gap. In Spain, it’s chaos in Sevilla as they and Granada finish the game before returning to play one more minute, and Atleti are doing their best not to win the title (24:07). There’s also a very quick roundup of Serie A and the Premier League (36:45), plus chat about Man City’s fourth League Cup in a row (41:00) and the first legs of the Women’s Champions League semifinals (46:34). Quiet weekend, wasn't it? Kris and Phil look back over a sometimes baffling week, in which both PSGs can thank the away goals rule for their progression to the Champions League semi-finals - the men after a 1-0 loss to Bayern Munich at the Parc des Prince, the women after knocking out seven-time trophy winners Lyon with a 2-1 away win. As well as that there were a couple of five-goal thrillers featuring very late winners in Ligue 1, as Kris' Lorient succumbed to OM at the Velodrome 3-2 with a double from Pol Lirola cancelling out ditto from Terem Moffi, and PSG v Saint-Etienne being probably the most exciting last 15 minutes of the season ending in a 96th minute winner from Mauro Icardi as the hosts also won 3-2. We have a midweek Coupe de France round for the quarter-finals and an interesting weekend coming up which finishes with Lyon v Lille in a key game for the title race. Also - yes, we went there - the recently announced 'European Super League' (other super leagues are available) causes sadness, anger, confusion, and Phil talking about EU corporate law, even though no French teams are involved in it...yet.

Jimbo, Rory Smith, Daniel Storey and Tom Williams discuss an eyebrow-raising return for the Premier League. West Brom secure one of the shock results of the season, thrashing Chelsea 5-2 at Stamford Bridge. Man City breeze past Leicester – have they become impossible to manage against? Liverpool cruise past the Gunners, with the panel enjoying the chaos and directness that Diogo Jota brings. But as for Arsenal, how did they spend so much money to end up in mid-table? Ligue 1 is hotting up as PSG lose at home to Lille. The table looks very good for leaders Lille but is their business model about to be destroyed by pandemic finances? And Rory makes his Inter Totally Cup debut against Matt Davies-Adams. Game 30 of Ligue 1 saw some movement at the top, as Lille lost unexpectedly to Nimes, and PSG won away at Lyon. With the top and bottom of the table (barring Dijon) as tight as ever, Kris, Jez and Phil look back at all the weekend's action, an unexpectedly early Coupe de France quarter final, and the upcoming international break.

It was a weekend full of big performances in key games, so Musa and Ryan begin with Lotte Wubben-Moy securing a crucial win for Arsenal over Casey Stoney’s Manchester United in the WSL (05:52). Martin Ødegaard drove Arsenal to a comeback against a very impressive West Ham at the London Stadium (12:33), while Spurs and Brighton picked up very important wins (22:26). During recording, news broke linking Xabi Alonso with the Gladbach vacancy (24:23), which they discuss before chatting about the rest of the Bundesliga (30:51), including Robert Lewandowski closing in on Gerd Müller’s record of 40 goals in a single league season, Hertha picking up a hugely important win over Leverkusen, who themselves are in a tricky run of form. Sergiño Dest got two for Barça in their 6-1 win at Real Sociedad (41:43), whereas Atleti scraped through against Alavés to maintain its lead at the top of La Liga. In France, PSG went top (50:08) and in Italy, Juventus were upset by an old goalscorer (53:26). Learn more about your ad choices. Oh ho ho ho ho. When OL drew at Reims and Monaco and Lille played out a goalless draw (sorry about that everyone) it looked like PSG were in the box seat to take top spot in Ligue 1. It didn't go according to plan. Kris, Jez and Phil look back over a chaotic weekend that ended with a twist that nobody saw coming. Features Champions League, Haribo, Twitter bugs, and more.

Julien Stephan has resigned from Rennes, Jacques-Henri Eyraud has left Marseille, Jorge Sampaoli is coming in, Bordeaux could be up for sale and their captain Laurent Koscielny has had some strong words about the state of the club - there's a lot going on in Ligue 1. Kris, Jez and Phil work their way through the comings and goings, the form and the title race (still on, at time of writing), before a midweek round that could be crucial for the standings, and a weekend of Coupe de France action to come.

Kris, Jez and Phil round up the Ligue trouser of the Coupe de France 32emes where there were three 'upsets', before moving on to the weekend's Ligue 1 action which saw PSG win 2-1 against Nice but the rest of the top four all drop points. A turning point in the title race, or a coincidence that lends more weight to individually understandable results?

After a pivotal weekend in the Premier League title race, Musa and Ryan look back at Manchester City’s 4-1 win at Anfield (4:07), Everton earning a late point to Manchester United (17:56), and some other key moments. There were shocks galore in the Women’s Super League (24:55) and some controversy in the return of the Frauen Bundesliga (34:36). After some surprising results, 2/3 of the team are giddy with glee - Kris, Jez and Phil focus on the bottom of the table, Lorient's shock win against PSG, the worrying events at Marseille, and the ongoing omnishambles that is the TV coverage of the French leagues.

The football never stops, so neither must Musa and Ryan, who begin with Leeds’ impressive away victory over Leicester (05:31), before reiterating the conditions footballers are being asked to perform under (09:38). There’s chat about the scoreless Stadio Derby (15:13), the rest of the Premier League (18:36), PSG’s defeat to Lorient (25:54), Lazio’s win over Atalanta (30:20), Real Madrid’s home defeat to Levante, and the rest of La Liga (32:38). Birthday boy Kris is joined by Jez and Phil to round up all the action including Marseille continuing to be awkward on several levels, PSG and Lille doing the necessary, and Bordeaux showing their style in attack and defence as they beat Angers 2-1.

Kris, Jez and Phil look back over game 5 in Europe and the 13th round of Ligue 1, including Vieira's departure, some other potential departures, fog, red cards, an actual title battle, and France's 2022 World Cup qualifying group.

Kris, Jez and Phil look back over a worrying 4th game in Europe with the French teams not massively impressing, and a confusing round 12 in Ligue 1. Dijon have finally won a game, OL look like they might be looking up, OM have two games in hand, and there's some managers coming under increasing pressure. Rumours abound that the Coupe de France is under threat, and the issues with the French Women's team continue.

After a weekend full of tense matches, moments, and situations all around Europe, Musa and Ryan do their best to summarize it all. They begin with Chelsea and Spurs drawing at Stamford Bridge (06:13), before touching on Leeds' win at Goodison Park over Everton, as well as Carlo Ancelotti's calming post-match manner (13:52). There was a game of two halves at St. Mary's as Manchester United came from two goals behind to beat Southampton (16:24), more disappointment for Arsenal, and the subject of concussion protocols in football (21:20). There's some five-subs chat after Brighton vs. Liverpool and a roundup of the rest of the Premier League (28:16), before a discussion of the sad passing of Papa Bouba Diop (34:18). Finally, there's a quick trip around the Bundesliga, Ligue 1, La Liga, and Serie A (44:56). Learn more about your ad choices. Musa and Ryan are back to chat about a weekend of statement victories, beginning with PSG, who put an end to Lyon’s 80-game unbeaten run in Division 1 Féminine (05:24), before staying in France to discuss Monaco, who came from 2-0 down to beat PSG 3-2 in Ligue 1 (12:53). They then head to the Premier League, which saw Spurs go top following another 2-0 win over Manchester City (19:27), and discuss wins for Brighton, Manchester United, and West Ham and the case for five subs (27:14). There’s also chat about Liverpool cruising to an impressive win over Leicester, as well as Everton returning to winning ways (34:53). Next up, it’s La Liga, as Real Sociedad stay top (39:23), Real Madrid drop points, and Diego Simeone’s Atlético Madrid get their first La Liga win over Barcelona (42:36). There’s also a roundup of the Bundesliga (49:14), Serie A (54:46), and a wild game in the MLS playoffs (58:14). Learn more about your ad choices. Musa and Ryan look back at a massive weekend of women’s football, beginning with the Manchester Derby in the FAWSL, where the points were split thanks to two angry goals (5:10), and Arsenal drew against Chelsea. In Germany, there was a seismic win for Bayern over Wolfsburg (22:37), plus a 14-0 win for PSG in France that included seven for Nadia Nadim (29:45).
