Man City Nico Brings us Old Men the Truth

Oh to be 24. Our guy @nicodegallo (I love his handle) is just a delightful man to converse with. He tells us all about his experience with a press pass at the International Champions Cup games. He regales us with stories about how cool the Arsenal players are in person. Yuck. Then we talk about his beloved Man City and their amazing depth. The odd losses early in the season. What it's like to play down an early goal. Then a dive into the USMNT dungeon. And of course; delightful champions league banter. Eventually we talk about his favorite local squad and his experience at their playoff game (Philadelphia Union). It was wonderful. Brad, the main Rooster, also tacked on ten minutes at the end here. I won't listen to it until I hear it on the air so not sure what he ranted about. He did end with Harry Kane rant, which I heard while recording the song, and he sounded angry. We'll see.

Episode 179 - The AFTN Soccer Show (New Beginnings, Same Whitecaps? with guest Mauro Rosales)

The 2017 season is already in full swing for Vancouver Whitecaps. While most teams played their first competitive match in this weekend’s MLS openers, the ‘Caps now have three under their belt, with two in the space of four days thanks to their CONCACAF Champions League heroics. We look back at what we learned and what we can realistically take from the 2-0 win over New York Red Bulls in the CCL and the 0-0 draw with Philadelphia Union in MLS. Has the defence finally shored up? Is the two man defensive shield killing attacking play? What’s the best position for Kekuta Manneh and Erik Hurtado? And what are we likely to see from the team in the weeks to come? We talk about all this and more in our first postgame show of the season. We also chat with the newest member of the Whitecaps, but a well known returning face, Mauro Rosales. What tempted the veteran Argentine back to Vancouver? Is coaching in his long term plans? What’s his thoughts on the team this season and especially Alphonso Davies? Plus B.A. Robertson features in this week’s ‘Wavelength’ feature. This is a podcast of our first live show on CiTR radio (and our fifth on the station altogether). As such it’s a little chaotic at times as we worked out which buttons to push!! We also ran out of time to put more in, but it’ll get a lot smoother, so have a listen, enjoy, and ‘Mon the ‘Caps.
