David joins James on the Gameweek Review for discussion on the nine games played so far, but for many, the FPL week will be defined by what Arsenal do with many scores on the low side so far. But there have been haulers, including the Chelsea pair of Cole Palmer and Joao Pedro, Manchester City's Antoine Semenyo and Liverpool's Virgil Van Diijk. Of course David and James own none of them, but James does at least have a nice tidy return from Neco O'Reilly. There's been two managerial dismissals in Thomas Frank and Sean Dyche, more rain (and pain), and there are some new fixtures turn on the horizon which may tempt managers to look at several low owned players. Jimbo’s got helpers James Horncastle, Seb Stafford-Bloor & Pol Ballús alongside him for some pre-Christmas cheer of a European variety. We begin in La Liga, where it’s as you were at the top of the table with Barca navigating the tricky trip to Villarreal to come away with all three points to keep their advantage at the top of the table. Real’s win over Sevilla helps ease the pressure on Xabi Alonso - but is Vini Jr’s future in more serious doubt? The shock scoreline across the continent was perhaps recorded in Florence, where having gone 210 days without a Serie A win - Fiorentina only went and put five past Udinese! Plus, Lois Openda ended his Juve goalscoring drought in their win over Roma to make things even tighter at the top. We touch base with events in France, Portugal, Turkey and the Netherlands - including the mounting troubles for Robin van Persie, Coupe de France storylines and lone Portuguese superfans! And in Germany - Bayern Munich continued their remarkable form with a 4-0 thrashing of Heidenheim - featuring Harry Kane’s 100th goal involvement in record quick time. Is the sky the limit for Vincent Kompany’s side this season? Produced by Lucy Oliva. RUNNING ORDER: • PART 1: Moments of the weekend (00.45) • PART 2: La Liga review - Mbappe equals CR7 as Barca pass Villarreal test (07.15) • PART 3: Serie A review - Fiorentina win a game… no, seriously! Goodbye to the group stages! And it finished with a magnificent day for Georgia, a terrible day for António Silva, and a reminder for Pete Donaldson that Cenk Tosun exists. Pete, Jim and Vish discuss the final round of group stage sparring before the knockouts, with a sensational display from Georgia who are rapidly becoming our favourite team. Plus, Czech Republic and Turkey ruin everyone’s Ramble predictions for number of cards at the tournament in one fell swoop and there’s quite literally an electric atmosphere in the Romania vs Slovakia game. Kevin De Bruyne and co could have done with a bit of that, too… We're back on stage and tickets are out NOW! Jimbo's got Charlie Eccleshare and Colin Millar alongside him - plus a variety of special guests over in Germany - as the Euro 2024 group stages reach their conclusion. We begin with events in Group F - which saw Georgian heroics as they booked their place in the last 16 in their first ever appearance at a major tournament after the 2-0 win over Portugal. Nika Kevkhishvili joins us to revel in the momentous victory. But heartbreak for the Czechs, sent packing after the 2-1 defeat by Turkey in Hamburg. It's fair to say it wasn't such a thrilling conclusion to Group E - with Slovakia and Romania playing out a 1-1 draw which Carl Anka was on hand to witness - and boos ringing out for Belgium after their goalless draw with Ukraine. Dom Fifield joins us from Stuttgart to reflect the sour mood amongst the Red Devils support base... With two rest days incoming before the round of 16 begins in earnest over the weekend - we take a look ahead to the full line-up of fixtures - and speak to Rafa Honigstein ahead of Germany v Denmark on Saturday night...
