The questions everyone wanted answered after last week's hammering in Kansas City was how would Vancouver Whitecaps' players react and what kind of mood would the fans be in. After a week building up to it, we got some answers at BC Place on Friday night. The Whitecaps got the job done against Real Salt Lake and came away with all three points, but it wasn't a performance for the ages against a pretty poor looking visiting side. Still, three points are three points and it ended the 'Caps three game losing streak. Steve, Zach, and Chris pick over the bones of it all. Is it a turning point or was it just papering over the cracks? We also hear from both head coaches, discuss the dissenting voices amongst the media and fanbase leading up to the match, see how the weekend played out for the MLS western teams, discuss the latest big Canadian Premier League news, and Culture Vulture has a song about Roy of the Rovers in our Wavelength section. Quickly Kevin - S03 EP07 - Tom Parry / 'They Think It's All Rovers' Our guest this week is comedian, Wolves fan, and friend of the show, Tom Parry. For his second appearance on the show it’s a trademark ‘Quickly Kevin…’ watch along. This time round we dissect the unanimous winner of our listener chosen 90’s football documentary recommendation - 'They Think It's All Rover's'. Be warned, this film, charting Doncaster Rover's abysmal 1997/98 season as they fight against relegation from the football league whilst under the control of nefarious owners, makes the Sunderland 'Premier Passions' documentary look like a feel-good romp. We also have some ‘Frying with laughter’ updates about the big man himself, and we ponder, for far too long and too often, just exactly who, or WHAT, is spoon molester Uri Geller? And why did he make fleeting appearances at several lower league clubs during the 90's? Turn on. Tune in. Wenger out. Friday's match against Real Salt Lake isn't so much a must win for Vancouver Whitecaps, as a must not lose. A defeat would certainly pile pressure on beleaguered coach Carl Robinson, but it's not likely going to be the tipping point. This is very much an avoid defeat at all costs encounter, as the 'Caps try to put an end to their three game losing streak. Joe, Gideon, and Nick are back to look ahead to Friday's match at BC Place. Were lessons learned from the 2-1 loss in Utah just three weeks ago? RSL are winless on the road, what kind of team and threat can we expect from them here in Vancouver? With the importance of this match, and with some players missing through suspension and injury for the 'Caps, does Carl Robinson blow up the team and try something different, or does he have to persevere with his regular base and hope they can turn things around? We look at all that, plus a lot more, and bring you another "Do You Know Who I Am?" and our prediction game. Have a listen!

Pat Nevin: S03 EP06 Our guest this week is a Chelsea, Everton and Tranmere legend. A man as comfortable writing music reviews for the NME, or enjoying a bowl of goulash whilst reading Kafka as he was evading a crunching Stuart Pearce tackle. It’s Scottish winger, indie DJ, and all round renaissance man, Pat Nevin. Plus we’ve got more ‘Frying with laughter’, a tall tale of Gazza hijacking a kids football match, and we explore the myth and merit of match day whip rounds. Vancouver Whitecaps are back on the road again, so at least there's perhaps some hope of getting something out of this week's match! After two straight defeats can Carl Robinson find a band of sunshine for his squad in KC? Joe, Gideon, and Nick are back with AFTN's latest preview podcast. They'll look at the threat posed by Sporting Kansas City, what changes the Whitecaps might be looking to make, and how they see the game playing out. We discuss all this and a lot more. We have a special guest this week as Michael sits down for a chat with Sporting KC forward, and fellow Scot, Johnny Russell (at 09.15 mark) to talk about his move to MLS, settling in at KC, his growth as a player from his early days in Scottish football, this weekend's match, and more. Plus another "Do You Know Who I Am?" and our prediction game. Have a listen!

Sick of teams from LA yet? I know we are. LAFC came to BC Place on Friday night and fairly easily picked apart an uninspiring and disappointing Kamaraless Vancouver Whitecaps. The 'Caps will also be hoping for a different result and in the road form that they're in, you have to fancy them to get it. Joe, Gideon, and Nick are back with AFTN's latest preview podcast. Let's just forget last week's game against LA Galaxy. We'll put it down to the Vancouver Whitecaps disease of struggling against weakened teams. They always seems to do better against the better ones, so at least that gives some home ahead of a trip to the Eastern Conference leading Columbus Crew.Joe Deasy, Gideon Hill, and Nicolaas Rupprecht preview the match, looking at what we can expect from a fired up Crew side. What will the Whitecaps look like? Can they break down a team that doesn't have 10 men behind the ball? Will there actually be some decent delivery this week? All this and a lot more are discussed in this week's preview episode. We're also joined by Whitecaps midfielder Jordon Mutch to talk about settling in to Vancouver, what he's made of MLS so far, and what he expects this weekend. All this, plus "Do You Know Who I Am?" and our prediction game. Have a listen!

It's good to have constants in your life, right? When a weakened team comes to B.C. We pick over the bones of that game and individual performances, and hear from Galaxy head coach Sigi Schmid and 'Caps coach Carl Robinson. Plus we look back at the Whitecaps report card on the squad four games in. Turning our attention to the 'Caps defence, we discuss the overturning of Kendall Waston's red card, sit down for a chat with Uruguayan centre back Jose Aja about his move to Vancouver and how he's settling in, and we find out if Aaron Maund fancies a chocolate digestive. Series 3 - Episode 2 - Lee Dixon In terms of value for money, there can be few more astute signings than the £375,000 George Graham paid Stoke City for Lee Dixon in January 1988. 25% of arguably the greatest 90s defence, Lee finished his Arsenal career with four league titles, three FA Cup winners medals, a UEFA Cup Winner's Cup medal and infamously a runners-up medal in the latter competition too. But it was the first of his league championship medals that intrigued us most; the night of 26th May 1989, Liverpool v Arsenal - a championship play off in the last game of the season. For a whole host of reasons, from Fever Pitch to the ramifications of the Hillsborough disaster, the 1988/89 season marked the end of football as it had largely been for 100 years. And in it's culmination, Michael Thomas' last minute winner didn't just cement the league for Arsenal, it also cemented the idea of live football as a major box office draw, with the dawn of the Premier League coming soon after. We put all of this to Lee. Plus... we speculate as to whether Sean Dyche eats worms. Vancouver Whitecaps' record against LA Galaxy hasn't been too shabby these past couple of seasons. Gone is the MLS Cup Galaxy team to be feared, and it feels like last season, their worst in their history, was a rebuilding one that went horribly wrong from the outset. Is Sigi Schmid going to turn them around this season? They've a win and a loss under their belts so far and head to BC Place on Saturday night to take on a Whitecaps side looking to secure their best ever start to a MLS season.Joe Deasy, Gideon Hill, and Nicolaas Rupprecht preview the match, looking at what we can expect from the Galaxy, what will the Whitecaps look like, can they bounce back from the loss in Atlanta pretty quickly, and a lot more. We're also joined by Corner of the Galaxy co-host and producer Josh Guesman to talk about all things LA Galaxy from last season's disappointments, to this season's expectations, and what it's like to have a real LA rival in the city as the teams get set to meet next week (at 14.56 mark). All this, plus "Do You Know Who I Am?", our prediction game, and a look over the results of the latest anonymous ESPN poll of MLS players. Have a listen!

Mark Wilson grew up in the Manchester United youth academy and was part of the first team squad from 1997 to 2001. During that time he experienced the environment and culture that dominated the Premier League, the leadership of Roy Keane, and work ethic of David Beckham. Mark shares his views on how that culture was created and what pieces of it we can take into our own environments today.
