On 20th October 2007, Dirk Kuyt wrote himself into LFC folklore…but his Liverpool story could have been so much different. Kuyt’s match-winning penalties at Goodison Park are just one of many significant moments the Dutchman had in a red shirt, but as he revealed when he joined us, another teammate was designated for spot-kicks that day. Our former No.18 relives his six-year spell at Anfield from the moment Rafa Benitez called to request his services, to the tough decision he had to take when it came time to say goodbye. We also learn where his famous hard-work ethic came from, the added significance behind that goal against Inter Milan and how he played a role in bringing Luis Suarez to L4.

FC Dallas hasn't been good. And the LA Galaxy can't win in Dallas. What does that all mean? Hosts Josh Guesman and Christian Miles discuss the current state of the LA Galaxy. They need points - any points. And they haven't taken a win from Dallas since 2015, and it will be an uphill battle on Saturday. The guys will start by discussing the few fleeting rumors that briefly included the Galaxy. They'll talk about Luis Suarez's possible move to MLS after his Nacional stay. Would you want him on the Galaxy? And what to make of French winger Denis Bouanga? Is $8 million too much to ask? And were the Galaxy misidentified in the rumor? Plus, Josh and Christian will talk about the movement of Markus Ferkranus, who will spend the rest of the season in Phoenix. Does this mean he's in the dog house? But what do the stats say about this Galaxy team? And how many points will they need to make the playoffs? Can you identify 100-percent wins on this schedule? Finally, the guys discuss the importance of fresh, young legs in the heat at Toyota Stadium this weekend. So that means Dejan Joveljic starts, right? What can you expect from a place that often makes for weird games? Do you remember the win blowing in a goal for Dallas? Do you remember weather delays? Can the Galaxy win? We've got a great show for you today, and we're thrilled you decided to join us!

Luis Suarez needs a new club to prepare for the World Cup, is LAFC the right move? Christian doesn't think so! Luis Suarez has left Ateltico Madrid and is rumored to be going back to Nacional in Uruguay, his boyhood club. Rumor is he'd be willing to join LAFC but not until after the World Cup. Remember, thats next season for MLS and LAFC. If he joins LAFC, that makes LAFC the favorites to win the league this year, no? Would Gareth Bale stay to play with Luis Suarez? How would he fit in with Gareth Bale, Carlos Vela, and Chiellini who are already there? This could be one memorable LAFC season. Graham Hunter deep dives into Kylian Mbappé's decision to stay at PSG and looks ahead to the Champion's League Final Gillette | #EffortlessFlow

Sunday the 26th of February 2012, and the man whose goal had led Liverpool to their first League Cup win 31 years earlier now lead the side out in the Final as manager. Kenny Dalglish, who had returned the Anfield dugout a year earlier, faced off against Malkay Mackay’s Cardiff City. Joe Mason fired Cardiff into a early lead before Liverpool’s eventual player of the season Martin Skrtel scrambled the ball home to level things up. Despite pressure from Steven Gerrard and Luis Suarez, Liverpool couldn’t find the decisive goal, and the game headed to extra time. Substitute Dirk Kuyt found his shot from distance blocked back into his path, and at full stretch managed to power it back at goal, rifling it into the bottom corner. The drama did not end there though, and after a melee in the box, a Cardiff corner was turned past Pepe Reina by Ben Turner in the 118th minute to send the game to penalties. Kuyt, man of the match Stewart Downing and Glen Johnson all converted, and with a final miss from Anthony Gerrard, cousin of the Liverpool skipper, the Reds lifted the trophy for a record extending 8th time. As Steven Gerrard lifted the trophy in Cardiff, few knew that it would be their last silverware for seven years… Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
