Ramble Meets… Sven-Göran Eriksson

Merry Christmas one and all! You might remember our little chat with a certain Sven-Göran Eriksson back in September. Well, that was far from all. For this very special Ramble Meets…, Marcus, Luke and Jim chat with the former England manager and a true Ramble legend about all sorts: from Sven’s somewhat hapless playing career, to the Ivory Coast national team’s song about him, to what exactly happened in that 2002 World Cup quarter-final against Brazil. And, of course, we quiz him about his true retirement plans. So on this fine Christmas morning, here’s a little gift from us to you. You’re going to love this one. West Brom hold Man City, speedy Wolves undo Chelsea, and how to kidnap the Real Madrid team

Marcus, Andy and Pete are here to try and talk about last night’s action above the ear-splitting noise of the big Sam klaxon. Those little slugs at West Brom only went and sacked Bilić half an hour after the Ramble record! We reflect on what turned out to be his final game in charge, as Bilić’s boys put up a brave fight against Man City. As did Anthony Taylor, as he wrestled back his board from Guardiola. Elsewhere, N’Golo Kanté takes matters into his own hands, but Lampard’s men still fall to a second consecutive defeat. Meanwhile over in Brazil, Corinthians have Taylor Swift to thank yet again. There’s also a special Bosman-themed Portmantonio Conte and one emailer goes to quite extraordinary lengths to meet his Real Madrid heroes. Interview Series: A Conversation with Birmingham Legion FC's Bruno Lapa

On this episode of Rooster and the Devil, we interview Bruno Lapa of the USL Championship's Birmingham Legion FC. Bruno has a great soccer story. He grew up playing the game in Brazil, spent some time on trial in Portugal, and eventually ended up playing for Montegverde Academy in Florida. From there, he took a path that is traditionally blazed by American soccer youth. He committed to Wake Forest and spent 4 years playing for the University (2016-2019). He was the #10 on the squad, a captain, and a First Team All-American during his time there. After College, he ended up in the USL Championship and was set to begin his first season with Birmingham Legion FC. And then Coronavirus happened. So, like the rest of us, he sits and waits for soccer to come back. Great conversation with a great young man! Am I old now if I start saying great young man?
