On Clash of the Correspondents James is joined by Fulham fan Lewis James and Aston Villa Lee Jackson to discuss the latest at their clubs and their interesting FPL assets ahead of the GW8 meeting at Craven Cottage. Fulham have started really well, beaten only twice in Manchester and they have a great group of upcoming fixtures, whilst Villa have also started well, though it perhaps should also be expected with who they've played so far and fixtures are now looking tougher and have we already seen signs of the Champions League proving a distraction? Both Antonee Robinson and Emile Smith-Rowe have been popular for FPL managers so far, should Fantasy managers stick with them or look elsewhere with Fulham having only kept one clean sheet and with Smith-Rowe benched at the weekend? James has a big Erling Haaland dilemma, and the only way to get him him would include selling Ollie Watkins; does Lee think he should do it? Plus, there's a follow up on conversation during the last International break on concerns over Villa defensively, Raul Jimenez has hit form making him worth considering, and is Morgan Rogers likely to stay the community's darling as enabling midfield choice, particularly when many at a similar price are outperforming him on some of the underlying numbers, and that includes several Fulham players! Jimbo’s got James Horncastle, Seb Stafford-Bloor, Julien Laurens and Pol Ballús alongside him to recap the latest action from across the continent. Serie A saw goals AND penalty saves aplenty - with David de Gea snatching the headlines in Fiorentina’s victory over Milan while Marcus Thuram and Mateo Retegui both bagging hat-tricks in big wins for Inter and Torino. Speaking of hat-tricks, Robert Lewandowski rolled back the years as he scored three of his own as Barcelona cruised to victory against Alaves. They’ve got a three-point advantage over Real Madrid - who are battling injury and personnel issues but won against an impressive Villarreal side. Oh, and Paulo Gazzaniga managed a remarkable feat between the sticks… In Germany there was late drama at Deutsche Bank Park as Eintracht Frankfurt and Bayern Munich drew 3-3, while Bayer Leverkusen let a two-goal lead slip as Holstein Kiel came from behind to earn an unlikely point. PSG’s difficult week continued as they were held to a 1-1 draw by Nice - leaving Monaco clear at the top of the Ligue 1 table after their 2-1 win at Rennes. Elsewhere Lille backed up their Real Madrid Champions League triumph by beating Toulouse 2-1. Produced by Lucy Oliva. Liverpool recorded a 2-0 victory over Bologna at Anfield on Wednesday night to make it two wins from two in the Champions League league phase. Alexis Mac Allister put the Reds in front on 11 minutes when his dart into the area was picked out by a sublime Mohamed Salah delivery, enabling him to steer in from close range with one touch. In a hard-fought contest, Bologna struck the woodwork twice in the first half, but Salah made certain of the outcome when he rasped a curling finish into the top corner in the final quarter and made certain a 100 per cent start to the new-look format. With this victory head coach Arne Slot has achieved a feat never done before in Liverpool history after his side defeated Bologna on Wednesday night. The Dutchman became the only boss in Reds history to preside over eight wins in their opening nine matches in charge. In this episode of The Reaction, Arne Slot and Dominik Szoboszlai reflect on the win at Anfield, we also hear from former players Jason McAteer and Jay Spearing who joined Rob Jones for LFCTV’s post-match show For details on how to subscribe to LFCTV or LFCTVGO head to www.liverpoolfc.com/watch
