COG LA GALAXY DISCORD: https://discord.gg/9g8FcfU COG MERCHANDISE (SCARVES, T-SHIRTS, BUTTONS, COASTERS): http://www.cornerofthegalaxy.com/SHOP COG STUDIOS, Calif. -- A loss to LAFC on Sunday afternoon was almost in the cards for the LA Galaxy. But with a terrible call from the officials, and some horrible defending from Giancarlo "Pipo" Gonzalez, it was at least an interesting night for the club. On today's show, hosts Josh Guesman and Kevin Baxter discuss some of the issues surrounding this club's nose-dive to the bottom of the standings and what can still be done for this team. Do you feel optimistic? Then Kevin has a unicorn to sell you. The guys will start with the VAR debacle at Banc of California that could have cost the Galaxy a point. Has VAR jumped the shark? Are officials even allowed to use their eyes? And how can you link a boundary call with an offside call and illustrate precisely what is wrong with what they're asking VAR to do? Then, Josh and Kevin will tell you why teams are lying to you, and the league is doing nothing about it. Do you want accurate injury news, then start pressing on MLS to do something about it. After all, it's not like the league didn't do it before. They just stopped caring about whether or not you were satisfied with the results. But the central portion of this show will be spent talking of Pipo Gonzalez's failures in El Trafico's and how he let all of his Galaxy teammates down. And baring a ridiculously bad contract deal, he should never start for the Galaxy again. That contract, and it's more than a million-dollar payout, has run its course. And having said all that about Gonzalez, the Galaxy still had relatively little chance of winning that game, especially when it looks like VAR went out of its way to not look at the play. Is Chicharito's injury real? Or is something else happening behind the scenes. Is he fed up with being benched? Is he demanding a trade? And could a former coach of his be eyeing the top spot with the Galaxy? Finally, the Guys get you ready for a tough match in Portland, where they'll take on the Timbers in a must-win game that isn't really a must-win. But Kevin will still weave a yarn about magical creatures, impossibilities, and flat out hope that should have you ready to believe... or not. We've got a packed show for you today, and we can't wait for you to join us!

We take a look back at the action from the last match day including a controversy-laden Merseyside Derby. Man United seem to be back to winning ways, Arsenal stutter at The Etihad to Man City, West Ham stage an impressive comeback against Spurs. Frank Lampard’s expensive Chelsea side can't seem to stop leaking goals. We also take a look at the fixtures ahead, including Man United vs Chelsea Follow us on Twitter: @checking_var FPL code: 2negd4

David Jones is joined by Graeme Souness, Darren Moore and Jamie Carragher as they analyse Tottenham's collapse to West Ham after leading 3-0 at half-time, as well as reflecting on two VAR decisions from this weekend's Merseyside derby. Liverpool draw the Merseyside Derby after a great performance and dodgy VAR decisions stop Liverpool winning at Goodison Park. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

Musa and Ryan are back to try to make sense of a wildly chaotic weekend of soccer. They begin in the Premier League, where Leicester beat Manchester City 5-2 at the Etihad, thanks to a Jamie Vardy hat trick (4:40), where Sheffield United and Wolves are struggling at the start of the season following defeats to Leeds and West Ham (16:11), and where Brighton and Spurs were the victims of last-minute VAR calls (17:58) and Chelsea came from 3-0 down to salvage a draw at West Brom (21:25). The guys give a roundup of the Women’s FA Cup results and then move on to the Bundesliga, where the chaos continued as none of last season’s top five won, with Dortmund losing at Augsburg (25:38) and Bayern losing at Hoffenheim (30:25). Also, Lionel Messi was back in a Barcelona shirt, scoring in a stress-free 4-0 win at home to Villarreal (38:58), Luis Suarez scored two of Atleti's six in his debut (42:58), and the guys take a quick look at Serie A. Jules Breach, Jim Campbell and Andy Brassell are here to finally look back over some Premier League action! 100 days without it and we immediately get controversy over technology and Arsenal imploding. The more things change the more they stay the same. In Manchester the follically barren charlatan Pep Guardiola got one over on former assistant Mikel Arteta after a trademark David Luiz implosion, while at Villa Park Sheffield United can count themselves incredibly unlucky after goal line technology was revealed to have a blind spot, something that hasn’t been uncovered in over 9,000 games thus far. We also had time to look at the imperious dominance of the Bayern Munich machine, more cardboard cutout fun and a certain somebody’s gluttonous birthday plans. After another shambolic weekend of VAR, there was only one thing we could start with on today’s episode of Jules & Andy. As officials mishandle baffling clear decisions, we discuss the effect these mistakes has on players’ most visceral emotions while on the pitch and the lack of training for match officials. We also speak to former Premier League referee Peter Walton, who wonders whether the Premier League was even ready for VAR this season due to this lack of training and understanding. It’s not all VAR chat, though, as we take another look at FFP in light of UEFA’s decision to ban Manchester City from European competition. We examine what the policy aims to achieve in a wider context, how it works in practice and how clubs can spend their money on vast improvements without breaking any regulations. Suj & James discuss the current Offside rule and if it's working, if not is this solely because of frustrations over VAR? The lads discuss the prospect of a change to the rule as suggested last week by Arsene Wenger and if that would be better or worse, plus the ideal resolution that James believes would make paying fans happy. _________________________________________ Web: www.planetfpl.com Twitter: @PlanetFPLPod (James) / @sujanshah (Suj) Facebook: www.facebook.com/PlanetFPL Instagram: @planetfpl You Tube: www.youtube.com/planetfpl Learn more about your ad choices. Olivier Giroud is back with a bang, as his perfect, handsome features reminded Spurs of what could have been after they missed out on signing him in January. Elsewhere, Brendan Rodgers kept an impressive lid on it while Eddie Howe looks like a man wobbling on the edge. On top of all this there’s Brad Pitt, Axl Rose, the return of Matej Vydra (again), more inbox terror and the gift that keeps on giving: Keane vs Carrragher. Jim's delighted to be joined by actor, comedian, writer, rapper, screenwriter and voice of VAR at Selhurst Park, Doc Brown! His team is packed with ninjas, accountants (in this case the same man), a man so good his name replaced the word “volley” in the ‘90s, surprise packages and an overlooked all time great, cleverly gelled together by a figure who commands more respect than any other living being. There was also time to discuss the proliferation of bird-related iconography in football, those heartbreaking “what if?” moments that are a definitive part of being a fan and some not-that-surprising revelations about one Pete Donaldson.
