Super Sunday | Nunez stuns Newcastle after Van Dijk sees red | Carra: 'That's one of Klopp's best victories'

Kelly Cates presents Super Sunday from St. James' Park alongside Jamie Carragher, Shay Given, and Andros Townsend, and they discussed and analysed the major talking points from Liverpool's dramatic 2-1 win against Newcastle which was delivered by two late goals from substitute Darwin Nunez. The visitors' victory was made even more impressive as they played the majority of the game with ten players after Virgil Van Dijk was dismissed shortly after Anthony Gordon gave the hosts the lead. Carragher labelled the victory as one of Jurgen Klopp’s best victories as a manager. Van Dijk’s red card wasn’t the only moment of controversy as Trent Alexander-Arnold was involved in two separate incidents early in the first half but avoided a second yellow card. Both Carra and Given agreed that the full-back should have been sent off. Carragher also said Liverpool can challenge Manchester City this season and be their biggest rivals again but they need to strengthen their squad before the transfer window closes on Friday. Speaking with Pat Davison after the match, Newcastle boss Eddie Howe felt the match could have been more comfortable had his players been more ruthless in front of goal, whilst Jurgen Klopp said that the result was even harder than their famous 4-0 home win over Barcelona in 2019, that saw them overturn a three-goal deficit on aggregate to reach the Champions League final. Super Sunday | Liverpool 2-2 Arsenal | Keane: Arsenal should be delighted | Nev: Gunners will drop points, they’ve got to hope City will too

Dave Jones presents ‘Super Sunday’ alongside Roy Keane, Micah Richards, Jamie Carragher and Gary Neville, who react to and analyse all the talking points of a pulsating 2-2 draw between title chasing Arsenal and top four hopefuls Liverpool. The game lived up to the pre-match billing, producing late drama and constant excitement throughout with Richards saying, ‘it was one of the best games he has ever seen’. Despite a strong start and ultimately leading 2-0, Keane thinks Arsenal should be delighted with the point as they were under constant pressure during the second half. Neville believes the Gunners will drop more points in the title race and need to hope fellow title challengers Manchester City will too. There is also reaction from player of the match Aaron Ramsdale after his heroics as well as Trent Alexander-Arnold. Jurgen Klopp gives his post-match thoughts and was disappointed Liverpool did not secure the win, whilst Mikel Arteta admitted Arsenal lost control of the game and therefore the draw was a fair result.
