A Free Hit & Something Quite... | Planet FPL S. 8 Ep. 41 | GW29 Review | Fantasy Premier League

Suj and James review the Blank Gameweek of 29 and very differing FPL fortunes as Suj's Free Hit went from a dreadful Saturday to a spectacular Sunday, whilst James' weekend was without a Free Hit and instead something altogether ****! ...And that's before conversation gets to Tottenham's latest defeat! All games covered including Bruno Fernandes' haul in Manchester United's victory at woeful Leicester, it was Anthony Elanga rather than Chris Wood who went big as Forest also won well on the road, Brighton were unfortunate not to take all 3 points from Manchester City and Brentford produced perhasp the surprise of the weekend, with victory at Bournemouth. It's over two weeks until GW30 and there's a repeat of how information will be king going into the next Gameweek, there's discussion on players of interest, targeting the bottom 3, points chasing, Erling Haaland and more... A Goat Named Mo | Planet FPL S. 8 Ep. 40 | GW28 Review | Fantasy Premier League

Suj and James review the weekend of Gameweek 28 where there was more heartbreak for those who gambled on Cole Palmer again as the Chelsea talisman missed his first penalty of his professional career, whilst Mo Salah converted two penalties of his own to break the FPL points scoring record despite still having nine games to play! But FPL managers won't be captaining Salah this week with Liverpool among four teams who blank this week and much of the focus of the Podcast is towards decision making for the Blank coming up, and for some that may mean even selling Salah to fund a move for Erling Haaland. But is Haaland even the best captain this week!? City were being beaten again, this time at Nottingham Forest and Chris Wood may even be the EO play this week as Nuno's Champions League chasing team travel to Ipswich. All the games reviewed, including discussion on Arsenal's draw at Manchester United which surely means the title is heading to Anfield; Bournemouth's outstanding showing at White Hart Lane only earned them a point; while Aston Villa and Brighton also kept themselves in contention for a top 5 finish; and Wolves without Matheus Cunha also edged a point closer to safety Tomorrow on Planet FPL: Clash of the Correspondents, Bournemouth v Brentford with Neil Grover and Tom Medd Today on Patreon: The Q'N'A (IT+) and Nico's Corner (AT) For the full Planet FPL schedule this week, including our offering on Patreon view this post: https://www.patreon.com/posts/schedule-march-124031506 Want to become a member of our FPL community and support the Podcast? Facepalm | Planet FPL S. 8 Ep. 38 | GW27 Review | Fantasy Premier League

James is joined by Clayton on the Gameweek Review Podcast to discuss the events of the midweek of Gameweek 27 where somehow, those who gambled on Cole Palmer with the captaincy were not rewarded... but it didn't matter that much anyway. So Palmer again in 28 with an insipid Leicester next? Maybe not with Mo Salah facing Southampton, or could The Reds rotate with the fixture falling in between their Champions League games with PSG? All the games covered including Arsenal drawing blanks again at Forest and Man City seeing off Tottenham in a game of two halves at White Hart Lane where Erling Haaland registered the only goal. Is there a case to take Salah on with the big Norweigian from Gameweek 29 onwards? Perhaps so, and there is plenty of discussion around the Blank of Gameweek 29 and how to manage players subject to chosen strategy, with key assets from the likes of City, Bournemouth, Palace and Wolves all covered in detail. How big does Man City's rebuild need to be?

After a week in which they were dumped out of the Champions League and given a dose of reality by Liverpool, Man City got back to winning ways, beating Tottenham Hotspur 1-0 courtesy of Erling Haaland on his return from injury. So, with Haaland back from injury and their new recruits bedding in is the City rebuild not as big a job as we thought it might be? Ayo Akinwolere is joined by The Athletic's Man City correspondent Sam Lee as well as Jack Pitt-Brooke to analyse City's performance at the Tottenham Hotspur season before assessing the state of their squad rebuild. New signings Abdukodir Khusanov, Omar Marmoush and Nico Gonzalez are all discussed as well as the ageing spine of Guardiola's dynastic team before questioning whether the Spaniard can return City to their previous standards? Free Hit GW29 or GW34 Revisited | The People's Poll ep. 158 | Planet FPL 2024/25

Suj and James revisit a Podcast from 4 weeks ago deliberating which week would be best to Free Hit from the potential Blank Gameweeks of 29 and 34. There's discussion on considering the template, including the importance of Erling Haaland, and the fixtures before after GW29 when making a decision on whether to activate the Free Hit or run through the Gameweek, and that decision will need to be made without the picture for the Doubles of 33 and the Blanks of 34. There's a look at potential Free Hit Drafts for 29, 33 and 34 and James reiterates the script for the current projections and has warnings about how the weeks around the FA Cup Semi Finals may not be exactly what we think and how that can have big implications for Wildcarders looking to Bench Boost. And the consequence of the Newcastle v Crystal Palace arrangement for GW32 might not be as obvious for GW33 as it appears now. Mailbag: Should football ban over-celebrating?

After the simply marvellous scenes at Goodison Park this week, some fun sponges had the audacity to say that the Everton players and fans went 'too far' with their celebrations. Now, it's not the first time we've heard that in recent times. Myles Lewis-Skelly ruffled a few feathers after copying Erling Haaland's celebration, and Paul Scholes called Neal Maupay an "idiot" for copying James Maddison's darts celebration. Marcus, Luke & Vish have their say on that, plus we find out their choice of Mario Kart characters. It's not one to miss. We’re going on tour! Get your tickets now: https://footballramblelive.com.
