Dave Jones presents Super Sunday from the Emirates stadium and is joined by Jamie Carragher, Micah Richards, and Thierry Henry to discuss the talking points from Arsenal’s emphatic 5-1 win against Manchester City. Myles Lewis-Skelley once again impressed and Jamie Carragher described the teenager as a ‘superstar’, saying his arrogance is similar to Jude Bellingham and Wayne Rooney’s. Thierry Henry and Carragher were also critical of Erling Haaland's performance, after the Norwegian striker struggled to get involved with the game, despite scoring against the Gunners. There is also reaction from both teams, with goalscorers Martin Odegaard and Kai Havertz speaking to Pat Davison after the match. Declan Rice was named the player-of-the-match and admitted that the 'bad blood' between Arsenal and Manchester City has been building. Mikel Arteta and Pep Guardiola also give their contrasting views. Whilst West Ham have recently replaced Julen Lopetegiui with former Chelsea manager Graham Potter. There's discussion on Potter as a fit for The Hammers, whether he can improve their underwhelming season and if he should be judged at all on his tenture at Chelsea. Suj and James review a dramatic weekend in FPL as James played an accidental Free Hit, but at least went with Cody Gakpo who hauled ahead of Double Gameweek 24. A double that features a Merseyside Derby, so Everton assets appeal along with Reds players from across Stanley Park. But how good is this Liverpool double? They'll start against Bournemouth who are absolutely flying and walloped third placed Nottingham Forest 5-0; Justin Kluivert and Antoine Semenyo both scored again, but it was OOP Dango Ouattara who claimed the match ball this time. There's discussion on Arne Slot Assistant Manager versus Mo Salah Triple Captaincy, how Trent Alexander-Arnold purred against Ipswich on Saturday and what to do if managers feel like they've picked the wrong Liverpool assets. Plus, as usual all the games reviewed, including coverage of the tactics in Manchester City's victory against Chelsea, the Myles Lewis-Skelly red card controversy in Arsenal's victory at Wolves and what now for Ange Postecoglu, following another disaster for Tottenham, as they were beaten at home by struggling Leicester? There's discussion on Everton and Liverpool assets for the upcoming double, James needs a Dominic Solanke replacement, should the likes of Raul Jimenez and Joao Pedro be moved on, Chris Wood went off again, what impact does William Saliba's injury have on Arsenal, Ruben Amorim's 'worst ever' Manchester United comment and lots more... On Clash of the Correspondents James is joined by Manchester United fan Gary Robinson and Southampton fan Matt Samuel to discuss the at their clubs ahead of next Thursday's Gameweek 21 meeting at Old Trafford. For United, there is some fresh following the excellent performance and draw at Anfield, which followed a run of three straight league defeats without scoring. Is there any chance that United can build on that and get themselves back into contention for a European spot? Whilst for Southampton the appointment of new manager Ivan Juric has yet to see the desired impact and Saturday's humbling 5-0 loss to Brentford has now led to concerns that they may not even top Derby's 07/08 total of 11 points. So should FPL managers be targeting the likes of Bruno Fernandes and Amad Diallo now? Is Bruno even an option to captain this week? But is he worth the money over teammate Diallo? There's also questions on Southampton assets, yes really, some people are actually interested with BGW29 in mind and there's also discussion on Marcus Rashford's future. Suj and James review the 9 games played so far in Gameweek 19 as we approach the halfway point of the season and interesting both sit on 75 points despite Suj going against (The King) Mo Salah for captaincy. Suj got to see first hand at the London Stadium just how good Liverpool are, not long after James had seen just how far Tottenham are from the league leaders level as they drew with Wolves. But perhaps the most damning performance of the Gameweek was from Ruben Amorim's Manchester United last night! All the games reviewed as Salah hauled again, Haaland did a goal and Chelsea were humbled by a Liam Delap inspired Ipswich whilst Nottingham Forest's incredible run continued. Dave Jones presents Super Sunday from the Tottenham Hotspur stadium alongside Les Ferdinand, Jamie Redknapp, and Jamie Carragher and they analysed all the talking points from a very eventful game which saw league-leaders Liverpool score six times, which guaranteed them to be top of the table at Christmas. Redknapp described Liverpool’s performance as ‘incredible’ and said they exposed every weakness of Tottenham. Carragher agreed and felt the scoreline could have been much worse for the hosts. Trent Alexander-Arnold once again produced an eye-catching performance, and with the full-back's contract still to be resolved, Carra believes he would be remembered as one of the greats to play for the club if he does decide to stay at Anfield. Ange Postecoglou reacted after the match, saying it was a painful day for Spurs as they could not compete at the same level as the hosts. In contrast, Arne Slot was obviously delighted with his players’ display and felt it was their best away performance of the season despite conceding three times. Pat Davison also speaks to goalscorer Mo Salah and Tottenham captain Son Heung-Min. Vicky Gomersall is joined by The Mirror's Darren Lewis and Sky Sports senior reporter Melissa Reddy to reflect on the weekend’s sporting action. We start with Manchester City’s crisis after a defeat at Villa Park; a ninth loss in twelve matches but Melissa believes the most damning observation is it’s no longer a surprise. Next, Arsenal’s emphatic win at Crystal Palace. Gabriel Jesus’s five goals in four days contributes in a big way to Arsenal’s open-play goals, but star boy Bukayo Saka left Selhurst Park on crutches and will be a big miss. Then a heated debate, as Melissa and Darren argue over whether Marcus Rashford deserves greater criticism after stating he is ready for a new challenge. Elsewhere, David Craig sits down with Ange Postecoglu, who talks of Spurs being entertainers, his love of the team scoring goals and how “there may be a world in which we exist, where Jamie Carragher is wrong.” Sunday Supplement is a Sky Sports podcast. Jimmy Conrad, Charlie Davies, and Tony Meola tackle the Matt Turner situation: After losing his spot as the Carabao Cup keeper, is it time for the Crystal Palace shot-stopper to reconsider his Premier League dream? And with the USMNT goalkeeper pool looking shakier than ever, could a new No. 1 emerge from January camp? The guys also break down the 2025 MLS schedule, debate the changes to the Leagues Cup format, and the tough task facing Bruce Arena in San Jose. Meanwhile, Johnny Cardoso steps up with a clutch performance for Betis, but it's a different story for Tim Weah and Yunus Musah, who are both sidelined with injuries. And why is Ricardo Pepi still playing second fiddle to Luuk de Jong at PSV, even while outscoring him? 🗳️🫡 Support the show by voting for Call It What You Want in the Sports Podcast Awards in the "Best Team Podcast" category: https://www.sportspodcastgroup.com/sports_category/best-team-podcast/ Call It What You Want is available for free on the Audacy app as well as Apple Podcasts, Spotify and wherever else you listen to podcasts. Suj and James review the weekend of Gameweek 15 that saw us a game down following the postponement of The Merseyside Derby and the Podcast includes details of when the game may be rearranged to. Unfortunately for those still on the Erling Haaland path, Mo Salah owners appear to have won again, with many moving the captaincy from Salah to Cole Palmer who returned with an 18 pointer in Chelsea's 4-3 victory at White Hart Lane which increased the pressure on Ange Postecoglu. Is James ready to call time on the Aussie's reign!? Plus, analysis of all the games, info on those walking the suspension tightrope, defenders are on agenda but there aren't many that convince, should Bryan Mbeumo and Yoane Wissa really be sold after returning well against Newcastle, Gameweek 16 should look good on paper and there are well wishes for Michail Antonio. On Clash of the Correspondents it's a London Derby preview as James is joined by Fulham fan Lewis James and Arsenal fan Adam Pritchard to discuss the latest at their clubs and their FPL assets ahead of Sunday's GW15 meeting at Craven Cottage. But first for Fulham, they host Brighton tonight, and victory could see them move up to 6th and on Understat's expected points model they should be 3rd, yet Lewis raises some frustrations will some recent results and performances. For Arsenal it was a third straight win last night after two goals scored from corners saw off Manchester United and that was despite the absence of Gabriel and Riccardo Calafiori who will remain doubts for Sunday. There's FPL discussion on Bukayo Saka, Jurrien Timber's appeal, if Kai Havertz's returns are a concern, Martin Odegaard's impact since his return, whether owners should sell Fulham assets Antonee Robinson and/or Raul Jimenez, who's the better pivk between Alex Iwobi and Emile Smith Rowe plus lots more... Jimbo assembles Duncan Alexander, Daniel Storey and Matt Davies-Adams onto the pod after a stunning and seismic weekend of Premier League football. Liverpool inflict a 4th successive league defeat on champions Man City at Anfield. Arne Slot’s serene start continues as the Reds go 9 points clear in the title race. Who are the most likely challengers? Is it Chelsea for whom Caicedo and Cucurella are playing sensationally? Or is it free-scoring Arsenal? And are we getting fooled into thinking Bukayo Saka will break the assist record? It’s an emphatic victory for Man United in Ruben Amorim’s first game in charge as the pressure mounts on Sean Dyche at Everton. Plus have Leicester taken too big a punt on Van Nistelrooy and could Newcastle ever challenge the title? Produced by Charlie Jones. RUNNING ORDER: • PART 1: Liverpool 2-0 Man City with James Pearce (05.00) • PART 2a: Man United 4-0 Everton (20.00) • PART 2b: Chelsea 3-0 Aston Villa (26.00) • PART 2c: Spurs 1-1 Fulham with Jay Harris (34.00) • PART 3a: West Ham 2-5 Arsenal (38.00) • PART 3b: Wolves 2-4 Bournemouth (46.00) • PART 4: The rest of the Premier League weekend (50.00) Hosted on Acast. Suj and James review another dramatic weekend of Premier League football and all the important FPL discussions as several popular assets delivered the goods again with Mo Salah, Bukayo Saka, Matheus Cunha and Joao Pedro all returning well. But there will be some who struggled and the swing against for Erling Haaland owners is a tough one to take. Is it time to call it quits on FPL's highest priced player? Haaland's latest blank came in an astonishing result at The Etihad as Tottenham won 4-0, much to James' delight; and there were also comfortable victories for Arsenal and Wolves whilst Liverpool made hard work of beating Southampton and we saw Ruben Amorim's debut as Manchester United manager end in a draw at Ipswich. Plus, James has gone early on his GW13 transfer, but it means a hit could follow... Suj and James discuss a miserable weekend, no, laugh at a miserable weekend of red arrows, failed Fantasy returns, and dismal home showing for the clubs they support! Yeah it's that kind of vibe. All the games reviewed as usual which included those disappointing days for West Ham and Tottenham and another disappointing day for vulnerable Manchester City, who were beaten by a Brighton side who now very much appeal for Fantasy managers and so to will Chelsea and Arsenal assets following their draw at Stamford Bridge. Both have very positive long-term fixtures. But the player the lads will probably want to but most is Alexander Isak, there's interest too in double ups on teams defensively, a Trent replacement may be needed, Mo Salah was on it again and provided another double point return ahead of facing the league's bottom side in Gameweek 12. Clayton joins James to discuss the weekend fixtures from Gameweek 10 with Mo Salah captainers doing well, but many other popular assets misfired, which included the majority of James' team, infact all of James' team misfired, but it was somewhat saved from being the Gameweek from hell by Dominic Solanke! And the Tottenham forward was also a surprise selection as part of Clayton's Wildcard which has performed well. On the Pod, discussion on all the games includes why James was confident Bournemouth could upset Manchester City, Newcastle's tactical structure that nullified Arsenal, Chelsea intrigued but failed to see off Ruud Van Nistelrooy's 'good lads' of Manchester United and fears for Gary O'Neil at Wolves only intensified after a 2-2 draw with Crystal Palace. There were two huge games between Spanish and German giants in the Champions League this week, so Musa and Ryan begin in Barcelona, where Hansi Flick performed a master class against his old side Bayern thanks to a Raphinha hat trick (02:19). The night before there was an equally enthralling game in Madrid, where Dortmund surrendered a two-goal lead to lose 5-2 to Real Madrid in the Bernabéu, where Vinícius Jr. took the plaudits and Nuri Sahin was left ruing a premature substitution (15:53). They then shout out some other results from match day three (27:19): Aston Villa is top of the Champions League, Liverpool is second only on goal difference, Lille completed a double over Madrid teams and the new format is maybe starting to heat up. Suj and James review all the key talking points from the Gameweek 8 weekend and for many it was an FPL weekend to forget with many popular assets blanking, but there were success stories to be found with the likes of Mo Salah, Heung-Min Son (perhaps controversially) and Ollie Watkins returning well. Son, was gambled on by a number of FPL managers just before deadline with concern surrounding Bukayo Saka, who wouldn't feature in The Gunners first defeat of the season at Bournemouth. Did those managers have inside information on Saka's absence!? James is holding on to a place just inside the top 10k, but his biggest joy of the weekend was seeing success for Tottenham in the Planet FPL Derby, which features heavily in a Gameweek Review that also covers how Chelsea impressed despite defeat at Liverpool. And it was a third blank in a row for Erling Haaland at Wolves, so surely he can't blank again with whipping boys Southampton up next. Or could he!? Deploying the triple captaincy is discussed and James has some new players on radar for transfers, which even includes one from Manchester United. Vicky Gomersall is joined by the The Mirror's Darren Lewis and football reporter for The Telegraph Sam Dean to reflect on the weekend’s sporting action. We start with Arsenal’s home win against Southampton, with Saka making the difference in an unexpectedly stressful day for Arsenal. Also, City’s stumbling victory against Fulham, with Kovacic’s impressive performance in Rodri’s absence. And a look at Arne Slot’s flying start; have Liverpool’s opening fixtures been kind? Elsewhere, we discuss whether it would it be a betrayal if Ruud Van Nistlerooy got the interim job as Manchester United manager, if the club were to part ways with Erik Ten Hag. Plus, Vicky’s exclusive interview with Brighton’s young manager Fabian Hurzeler. And the German media’s criticism of Harry Kane.
