Live from Wild Heaven Brewery, Avondale Estates. ATL ON FIRE Podcast Show talks about the upcoming 2023 Atlanta United Season. No playoff system for MLS jus days before kickoff? Atlanta United's starters are not a prepared unite as of yet. How the season will go? It could be another tough journey, but perhaps Araujo and Almada can put the team on their backs.
In this episode of the Designated Players Podcast, we continue our not so deep dives into each MLS team ahead of the 2023 season. We say not so deep dive as there are too many teams to cover and not enough time. In this episode we are covering Philadelphia, Seattle, Sporting Kansas City, Chicago, Atlanta, Columbus, and Nashville. We will be looking into the transfer activity, where are the holes, who to watch, and much more for each team in the episode. Don't worry if your team is not in this...

We talk about the Atlanta United tatical system and how other teams can win vs our approach. Jesse Marsh, Financial Fair Play, yeah, we talk about it all.

Atlanta United 2022 to 2023? The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly. ATL ON FIRE attempts to find the good in things but the red wine and fire start to blaze. It's going to be a long season for Atlanta United Fans unless some serious changes are made by Pineda. Yes, it was a preseason game, and yes we have some concerns.

We talk about the season ending Press Conference with Gonzalo Pineda and Carlos Bocanegra. We review the starting lineups and formations through the 2022 season and why Pineda clearly picked favorites over "talent" and basic coaching logic. We had diversity and injuries, but it was not an excuse for the team finishing at the bottom of the eastern conference table. World Cup starts in less than 30 days and we are ready for the France to lose in the first stage of knock out rounds.

One more year of Pineda coaching Atlanta United, pushing the wrong system. 2022 was a long season and 2023 is going to be even longer, because we know what we are going to get. Dave breaks down the clear mistakes we are making tactically from zone defense on corners (defensively) to leaving 1 player back on corners (offensively) to pressing our fullbacks up for no good reason. Ghhhhhrrrrr! We've talked about it all, over and over again!

We talk a lot about Atlanta United's win over Toronto FC's 4-2. It was great evening at the benz, but scary for a soccer brainiac, if you are Dave. Why play 1 man back when we are up 3-2 in the 80th min, only if you are crazy Pineda! Park the bus. No thanks he says, let's gamble the season. Purata's hattrick was worth it I guess.... Shambolic. We talk about it all.

Atlanta United 4-1 Loss to Philadelphia Union Ends Hope Even with a Win at home over DC United - Pineda must go in our opnion and he's made his bed with continual bad decisions and continual starts fo RRN. Who is driving the bus, Boca Boca? Who could even sack Gonzalo Pineda with any authority? We don't know. But we need a replacement ASAP.

Dave and Mike discuss the big problems of Atlanta United and Gonzalo Pineda. The draw against Columbus puts the playoff hopes on final life support. How do we go into 2023? The future is very foggy for Atlanta United fans.

Atlanta United's Playoff hopes are all but done at this point. A win over Seattle, draw to FCC and loss to New York Red Bulls make the mountain steep to get 48 points or more. Pineda does not seem to have a plan and we are not sure what the future holds, but Mike and Dave both want to get Tata back. He'll be available after the world cup. Bring back TATA. Start the chant 17s!!!
On this week's episode of Side x Side, co-hosts Steve Zakuani and Brad Evans recap a disappointing loss at Atlanta United before turning the page to preview a big home match vs Real Salt Lake. Our hosts also address Garth Lagerwey's recent media availability surrounding the transfer window, and break down what they think the Sounders need to do to ensure a spot in the playoffs. As always, please subscribe, download, and review.

Atlanta United lose 4-0 vs Austin FC in the worst home game ever. A little hope during Real Salt Lake, but the run up to Seattle makes fans want to puke. Gonzalo Pineda keeps shifting and can't get it right.. The last 5 games produced 1 win and only 2 goals with some of the best attacking players in the MLS. We talk about it all and talk Women's Euro's, Apple TV and red wine.

And while Atlanta United was not exactly playing up to top-tier standards, the Galaxy still showed some glimpses of what they might be able to do down the stretch. Hosts Josh Guesman and Kevin Baxter discuss the Galaxy's 2-0 victory and get into some details surrounding the game, both on and off the field. Josh and Kevin start with Greg Vanney's choice of starting lineups. That included a Galaxy debut for Gaston Brugman, and starts for Chase Gasper and Eriq Zavaleta. And while those were question marks at the beginning of the game, they all worked well. What can Brugman bring to the table for the Galaxy? What does a distributing six look like down the road? And are the Galaxy still looking to add one more piece? Plus, how big of a story will Dejan Joveljic be in the next 13 games? Probably one of the biggest. Especially as he continues to score goals every time he's on the field. But how hesitant will Vanney be to start Joveljic? We've got a great show for you, and we're thrilled you joined us!

So will Atlanta United cause as many problems as the San Jose Earthquakes for LA? On today's show, hosts Josh Guesman and Eric Vieira discuss the Galaxy's continued fall from grace. They'll talk about the "Stupid Tax" the club has been paying with all of their transfers and why ghost teams probably aren't in place to get another signing across the line. But what do we make of Gaston Brugman? Will he be an answer of sorts that fixes some of the issues the Galaxy have? Plus, who would be your Penalty Kick takers in a winner-take-all shootout? Would you let Chicharito take one of them? What about Jonathan Bond? Josh and Eric also want to talk about points totals and why there might be a low number this year for getting into the playoffs. Will 19 points be enough? What about 21? 24? With just 14 games left (15 if you're Greg Vanney), the Galaxy need a confidence boost. But if they see another loss, will Vanney's seat get warm? What about other changes in the front office. Are jobs on the line? We've got another packed show to prepare you for Atlanta United on Sunday!

Atlanta United - Mid-Season Reality Check -ATLONFIRE Has The Solution. Gonzalo Pineda needs to play to our roster's strength and that means a ldefensive posture that wins the ball at midfield and gets it up quickly to the MAMA talent who is designed to score. Fullbacks need to be FULL BACKS, stay home. The new MX goalkeeper and centerback will be key to the future as well, and we need Sosa to make a return. We talk about it all.

Dave and Mike get into some Dom Dwyer debats and we talk about it all. Nashville thunderstorm delays and a lucky draw. Bad bad loss against the Crew. The biggest trophy of the clubs history vs Pachuca? And Gary Neville need to pack his bags as we beat Miami 2-0. Apple TV an MLS bank a deal..

Atlanta United sees Almada, Moreno and Araujo clicking little by little. But, the big mistakes are still hurting us and Gonzalo Pineda needs to start enforcing some changes. We started to see Araujo out on his natural left side which is great, but need to shift away from Zone D. Dave brings some stats as we hit 1/3 into the season. What's working and what's not by the numbers. And Mike bring ATLONFIRE Trivia to bore us with Offside rules and applogies to the internet.

Atlanta gets a much needed win vs a poor Chicago Fire team. Mike and Dave walk through the highlights and have some worries about Pineda's system. That said, we are very talented, even with a terrible injury to Miles Robinson, ending his season and hopes for the World Cup. We talk about it all, including Women's professional soccer, EPL and CCL.

Atlanta United needs to move away from zone defense when the other teams have a set kick.. Set pieces are a big problem that needs to be resolved. We go down to Miami and can't get it done with 66% possession and more talent on the field. Montreal yields the same result with 62% possession. Mike can't keep his computer powered up and the podcast goes a little wonky.

Atlanta United Charlotte Loss and Draw vs Cincinnati. We recap both games and talk about it all. Red Wine, VAR, injuries and 3 games with no goals. Atlanta United is still 4th in the Eastern Conference. While things are not clicking, we still have a lot of hope. Brad Guzan perhaps had his last moment as a Five Stripe, and we are wishing him the best. Martinez gets another surgery. Two ruptured achilles in two weeks, not saying it's Aliens, but it was Aliens.

Including, our home opener win against Sporting Kansas City and our rough loss against Colorado Rapids. Without our starters, Dave is happy about Pineda playing it proper from the whistle.

ATLONFIRE trivia is back and we talk about it all, including some top memories of the 2021 season good and bad. Dave walks us through a detailed analysis of the playoff loss to NYFC on their home field (advantage) designed for a 7v7 match. MLS Next is coming and ATLUTD2 will likely join in 2023. Thiago Almada in, but not just yet with Barco still in the house.

Dave brings his own wine to celebrate the playoffs for Atlanta United. Mike admits, the wine is not only drinkable, it's good! Shocked about a year 1 wine, we go into the formation change from Gonzalo Pineda and why we should be playing 4-3-3 headed into the NYFC playoff game. But, we don't think the coach will go that direction. Mike thinks we'll win regardless and advance in the playoffs, Dave thinks it's our final stop. We talk about it all, including the new wonderboy Thiago Almada who will join the team in 2022.

Atlanta United essentially locked a playoff spot with tonight's 0-0 draw against New York Red Bulls. This looked to be coach Pineda's plan. Mike and Dave are worried about Pineda putting a stamp on the team, finding our identity and ensuring our players are put in the best position to win heading into the playoffs. Pineda's substitutions seem very wild, and we just don't feel like the team is clicking to enter the MLS cup hot.
