On Clash of the Correspondents James is joined by Liverpool fan Dan Lord and West Ham fan Chris Stone to discuss the latest at their clubs ahead of Saturday's meeting at Anfield which could have big implications at both ends of the table. Liverpool are hoping to secure Champions League qualification for next season and consecutive 1-0 away wins has them in contention to do so, but could they be distracted by other Cup commitments? West Ham remain 18th, but have lost one in six and have Nottingham Forest and Tottenham in their sights, there's discussion on the battle to stay up and what The Hammers may need to escape - and there is reason from both perspectives to suggest in the immediate West Ham could cause a surprise on Saturday. Plus, all the key FPL assets covered, with Liverpool very much on mind with a great immediate run of fixtures. There's coverage on Virgil Van Dijk, Ibrahima Konate, Dominik Szoboszlai, Florian Wirtz, Mo Salah and Hugo Ekitike. But FPL managers would be well advised to keep Hammers assets on mind, with Mads Hermansen, El Hadji Malick Diouf, Matheus Fernandes, Crysensio Summerville and Jarrod Bowen all giving reason to monitor. Suj and James review another dramatic weekend of football in the Premier League that included a brilliant encounter at St James's Park as Chelsea earned a hard earned point from two down, Liverpool just about getting over the line against 9 man Tottenham, Arsenal staying top for Christmas after victory at Everton, Leeds scoring four against Crystal Palace and Aston Villa maintained their outstanding winning run against Manchester United. A Manchester United for whom Bruno Fernandes was replaced at half time with a hamstring problem, and for owners that's a headache they weren't preparing for. Many owners and non owners will now likely chase the in-demand Hugo Ekitike who scored again, and now looks secure for minutes following a serious looking injury to Alexander Isak. He may even be worth trusting with the armband this week But there's plenty of other assets in demand too, with discussion featuring the likes of Matheus Cunha, Declan Rice and Jarrod Bowen. And there's others who are not, such as Igor Thiago who hasn't registered a shot in Brentford's last two outings against Leeds and hapless Wolves. Plus, coverage of defensive options, enablers, and Suj has been on tilt in FPL, Tottenham just have James fully tilted. It's another battle at the bottom on Clash of the Correspondents as James is joined by Leeds United fan Ed Salinger and West Ham United fan Chris Stone to discuss the latest at their clubs ahead of the Friday night game at Elland Road. For Leeds, there have been positives and negatives so far and they are currently above Friday night's opponents, but can they score enough to stay above those below them? For West Ham, Monday's horror show against Brentford has caused real concern that they themselves face a genuine fight to stay up. There's a deep dive into Nuno Espirito Santo's start and the failings in the Brentford loss. Plus all the important FPL discussion features Joe Rodon, Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Lucas Paqueta and Jarrod Bowen.
