Manchester United with Gary Robinson | Correspondent Week ep. 9 | Planet FPL 2023/24

Gary Robinson joins James to discuss all the latest at Manchester United including key and popular FPL picks Andre Onana, Luke Shaw, Bruno Fernandes and Marcus Rashford. Many FPL managers look like they may go with both Fernandes and Rashford, but if it had to be just one, who’s best? Is Onana worth the 0.5 saving on Shaw? Or should an alternative defender that should be considered. Plus, there’s discussion on what impact Onana and new signing Mason Mount are likely to have, there’s thoughts on the likely signature of Rasmus Hojlund, the chances of United making a title challenge and the Podcast begins with a chat about the potential takeover of the club. There's discussion on the prices that have been revealed including Erling Haaland at 14.0 and Mo Salah at 12.5. Heung-Min Son and Bruno Fernandes have both seen a decrease in pricing, how interested should we be? Does their pricing mean that 1 premium player becomes a popular strategy? Plus, there's coverage on the prices of the players from the promoted clubs, Fulham and Nottingham Forest, discussion on competitive price points such as the 7.5 forwards, 6.5 midfielders and 4.5 goalkeepers. On Clash of the Correspondents James is joined by Manchester United correspondent Gary Robinson and Chelsea fan Gary Mantle to discuss the latest at their clubs in cluding the upcoming Double Gameweek that features a meeting between the two at Old Trafford next Thursday. Should United be concerned about falling outside of the top 4? 2 wins are needed and should they both arrive in the double, should FPL managers then be concerned about rotation in GW38 ahead of the FA Cup Final against treble chasing neighbours City? Just how bad has this season been for Chelsea? There's reflection on Graham Potter's reign, the interim spell with Frank Lampard and thoughts turn to the imminent apppointment of Mauricio Pochettino. Plus, Marcus Rashford's fitness, best United FPL assets discussed including if Bruno Fernandes should be forced in, if multiple defensive assets should be considered and differential Antony. Will Kepa come back in goal for Chelsea; are there any other assets that can be considered? Or should they be heavily avoided with trips to both Manchester clubs upcoming and Newcastle visiting Stamford Bridge on the final day...? Liverpool Arsenal madness, Lampard back at Chelsea, Newcastle United ownership

Joe Devine, Jon Mackenzie, Seb Stafford-Bloor and Reuben Pinder are here to talk about some football. We tried to make sense of a mental game at Anfield as Arsenal took a point away at Liverpool. Frank Lampard is back at the Bridge just in time to steer Chelsea to a 1-0 defeat to Wolves. Bruno Fernandes played deeper in midfield for Manchester United in their 2-0 win over Everton, we looked at that because we found it interesting. Seb Stafford-Bloor joined us from Germany to guide us through the latest twist in the ongoing saga that surrounds the ownership of Newcastle United. The Pinder-Mackenzie derby saw Leeds take the lead but get blown away 5-1 by Roy Hodgson’s resurgent Crystal Palace. Plus Wrexham won the top of the table clash in the National League including a lovely goal from John Bostock and some goalkeeping heroics by Ben Foster. Oh and we teach Joe how to pronounce quite a few words... This episode of the Tifo football podcast is presented by Joe Devine and produced by Steve Hankey. Hosted on Acast.
