Real Madrid and Man City go again, as Kompany’s Bayern edge closer to the title

Jimbo’s joined by Julien Laurens, Seb Stafford-Bloor, Pol Ballús and Michael Cox for your weekly dose of European action. We begin with the big F-bomb controversy which has taken La Liga by storm, Nabil Bentaleb’s dream return to action for Lille - and a look ahead to the all-important Champions League Knockout Round Play-off second legs, with Real v Man City topping the midweek billing. Elsewhere in Spain, the costly red cards for Bellingham and Barrios meant Real and Atleti left the door wide open for Barcelona who faced Rayo Vallecano on Monday night (after we’d recorded) - and it turns out that Antony fella is actually quite good - after making in three goals in three games at new home Betis… Over in Germany, it looks like Bayern Munich have one hand on the Bundesliga title after their goalless draw with closest rivals Bayer Leverkusen means the gap at the top of the table stays at eight points. Elsewhere the domestic misery continues to pile on Borussia Dortmund, beaten 2-0 by Bochum and sitting 11th in the league. In Italy, Juventus continued their surge up the Serie A table with a 1-0 win over Inter in the Derby d'Italia. It means Simone Inzaghi’s side missed the chance to go top after leaders Napoli had fallen to their third consecutive draw, held 2-2 by Lazio. And in Ligue 1, Fabian Ruiz bagged the only goal against Toulouse as PSG maintained their 10-point lead at the top of the table while Mika Biereth continued his remarkable start to life in Monaco with his second hat-trick in as many home games in their 7-1 thrashing of Nantes. Produced by Lucy Oliva. Barca, Real and Atleti neck and neck, plus Champions League play-off preview

Jimbo’s got Pol Ballús, Seb Stafford-Bloor, Julien Laurens and Rory Smith alongside him as the Champions League Knockout Round Play-offs get underway. We start with a look at some of the big ties across Tuesday and Wednesday including the small matter of Manchester City v Real Madrid - for the fourth season in a row in Europe! Elsewhere, there’s the all-French affair between Brest and PSG, Celtic host Bayern Munich and Feyenoord v Milan just got a bit more interesting following the dismissal of Brian Priske… Domestically, in Spain the La Liga title race is the gift that keeps on giving with just two points separating Real, Atleti and Barcelona at the top of the table. That’s after Carlo Ancelotti’s side were held in a 1-1 draw by their Madrid rivals, allowing Barca to close the gap with a 4-1 victory over Sevilla. Over in Italy, it was a big Monday night in Milan as the Champions closed the gap to leaders Napoli to just one point after a 2-1 win over Fiorentina… just four nights after they’d played in Bergamot and la Viola had won 3-0 in a match that was rescheduled after the collapse of midfielder Edoardo Bove back in December. Napoli’s lead at the top stands at one point as they were held by Udinese. In France, PSG continued their imperious Ligue 1 form with a 4-1 victory over Monaco, which included a first goal for the club for a certain Khvicha Kvaratskhelia. Distant chasers Marseille and Nice both registered wins of their own to keep up their Champions League charge in what’s a very competitive chase for a top three spot. And in the Bundesliga, Bayern Munich prepared for their trip to Glasgow with a 3-0 win over Werder Bremen, stretching their lead at the top of the table to eight points. That’s because closest rivals Leverkusen let complacency creep in again as they were held to a goalless draw by Wolfsburg. Meanwhile, Dortmund have gone five home games without a win in the league - their worst run since 2006 - after their 2-1 defeat at the hands of Stuttgart. Produced by Lucy Oliva. There's discussion on Erling Haaland, Phil Foden, Oscar Marmoush, Josko Gavrdiol and others. While for Newcastle the opposite is true, a tough run of fixtures begins now and they will almost certainly blank in Gameweek 29. Could Alexander Isak be a sacrifice on route? Could those that keep even consider benching this week!? There's also chat on Lewis Hall and with Anthony Gordon, yellow flagged, should be sold by Fantasy managers. And he's not the only Newcastle player flagged.
