- SUBSCRIBE TO OUR PODCAST: http://cornerofthegalaxy.com/subscribe/ - COG LA GALAXY DISCORD: https://discord.gg/drr9HFZY2P - COG MERCHANDISE (SCARVES, T-SHIRTS, BUTTONS, COASTERS): http://www.cornerofthegalaxy.com/SHOP COG STUDIOS, Calif. -- The LA Galaxy will welcome Bruce Arena back to Dignity Health Sports Park on Saturday, and he'll bring with him the New England Revolution and several former Galaxy players. Will the Galaxy be able to match up to one of the best teams in MLS last season? On today's show, hosts Josh Guesman and Sophie Nicolaou want to get you caught up on a busy Thursday. They've got a surprise preseason game to update you on, they'll talk about the Douglas Costa rumors that should cross the line on Monday, and they'll get you ready for what should be an electrifying season from Julian Araujo. First, Josh and Sophie talk about how the preseason doesn't matter. Then Josh will tell you how he's keeping track of goal scorers in the preseason to counter that whole "it doesn't matter" thing. But the majority of this show revolves around the reporting of Fabrizio Romano and how the Galaxy are going to sign Costa for 1.5 years with a six-month loan to start things off. What can we learn about Costa from a question Greg Vanney didn't want to answer? And can the most talented player on the field make it big in Los Angeles? Sophie and Josh will also tell you about the first significant injury of the preseason, and you'll hear from Vanney on Costa, Cristian Pavon, Mark Delgado, and a lot more. Plus, what did Vanney think of Araujo's World Cup Qualifying debut? And why is that good for the Galaxy? We've got a packed show for you on a Thursday night that will definitely get you ready for a Saturday night game! Let's get this thing started!

Today's show will get you ready for the Galaxy's next game against the Colorado Rapids. And that's going to be a massive test for a team that doesn't know what their best lineup is and is having to go to altitude to try and beat a team they haven't beat since 2017. Hosts Josh Guesman and Eric Vieira discuss the Galaxy's media conference call and tell you about the positivity exuding from Galaxy head coach Greg Vanney. Will Chicharito play in a single striker formation? Will Vanney pair with Dejan Joveljić? And what circumstances might the Galaxy use Chicharito in during the game? The guys will also talk about the Galaxy's odds to make the playoffs, according to FiveThirtyEight, and why betting on them to win MLS Cup might be a steal! But there's also talk from Josh and Eric about some international players returning that haven't been vaccinated. Will they be available for Saturday's game? And how could this hurt the team down the road when the next international window opens? We've got a packed show that is jammed with stats and information that will get you ready for the Rocky Mountain clash on Saturday. What was Josh's best advice about the game? Start drinking early! Klinsmann saves the Galaxy in Minnesota, and Galaxy need a win against Colorado

But why should the Galaxy be hyper-focused on Colorado on Tuesday night? Hosts Josh Guesman and Kevin Baxter discuss the Galaxy's 1-0 win over Minnesota and why Greg Vanney deserves a gold star for being willing to give away a road game while still getting three points. Rotation is an essential part of the Galaxy's strategy through the rest of this congested schedule. So a win on the road with a rotated lineup should make fans very excited for what is coming. And while Klinsmann was the big takeaway from the game -- and is undoubtedly making some fans think that the number two keeper might get the start again -- there are plenty of solid performances in that road win that need to be discussed. Kevin Cabra, Dejan Joveljić, Niko Hamalainen, and plenty of others deserve some acknowledgment over a hard-fought game that lets the Galaxy really attack their Tuesday night match with the Rapids. Plus, Josh and Kevin will update you on all the injuries the Galaxy are suffering and why getting Sebastian Lletget back after a tragic family loss is another big deal for the Galaxy's growth as a team. Finally, the guys are getting you ready for Colorado on Tuesday and discussing why the Galaxy and the Rapids are very similar. And that makes some sense when you compare the two coaches that were once teammates on the Galaxy. We've got a packed show with plenty of updates as you get ready for a weird Tuesday night game against the Rapids.

Is this a case of some luck running out? Or is this a sign the Galaxy are ready to take the next step? Plus, who was yelling at the players in the locker room for 10 minutes after the game? On today's show, hosts Josh Guesman and Larry Morgan (Kevin is on his way back from the Olympics) want to discuss some of their observations about the Galaxy's draw against the Vancouver Whitecaps. The guys will start with the news the Galaxy signed Niko Hamalainen on Friday morning and why his inclusion in the team couldn't have come at a better time. What does the injury to Jorge Villafaña mean for the club during another busy stretch of games? And why did Greg Vanney and Derrick Williams talk about the Galaxy not being ready for first place? Plus, the Galaxy have one of the biggest cheerleaders in MLS. Why was this player all of the guys after the game ended? And why is he focused on the Galaxy's mental health? Josh and Larry will also talk about why fans are upset about everything from parking to food to police in the parking lot. And they're going to tell you why National TV has affected the Galaxy's schedule more than anything else. Why is there just one Saturday Night game left for the Galaxy in 2021? The guys will close out the show with some standings, charts, and other fun stuff that should get you pointed in the direction of one of the weirdest schedules in Galaxy history! Are you ready for a Saturday, Tuesday, Friday week? We've got another great show to share with you! So let's go!

Leicester with @AaronLagor - Correspondent Week ep 17 | Planet #FPL

Suj & James welcome Leicester City correspondent Aaron Lagor onto the Podcast ahead of the Foxes trip to Wembley for the Community Shield and the build up has been disrupted by an injury to one of their brightest prospects. Wesley Fofana was set to be a big part of the discussion but a serious injury suffered on Wednesday night looks likely to rule him out until 2022 and with Jonny Evans also doubtful for GW1 there's suddenly concern about The Foxes defensively. But has the appeal of Kasper Schmeichel, Caglar Soyuncu or the full backs increased because of it? Are players linked away likely to stay? Is Harvey Barnes back up to fitness to offer FPL mangers an exciting mid price option with attractive opening fixtures? And there's a discussion about the system and it looks like Leicester could be reverting to a back four, which could be bad news for one of the forwards, but good news for another... If that team is Sporting KC, getting it almost right isn't good enough for any points. But the LA Galaxy are taking steps forward. They just have to develop into a better team. On today's show, hosts Josh Guesman and Kevin Baxter discuss the Galaxy's 2-0 loss to Sporting KC at Dignity Health Sports Park on the Fourth of July. How did the team feel about the loss? And do our hosts feel the same way? Josh and Kevin will discuss the injuries to Javier "Chicharito" Hernandez and why Galaxy fans should be holding their breath over the calf injury, and they'll talk about the Galaxy's dwindling supply of center backs. Could Daniel Steres make a return for Wednesday night's game against FC Dallas? Or will Rayan Raveloson be forced back into a defensive stance? The guys will also discuss Raveloson's stellar debut and why it should open up options for the Galaxy once they get some healthy bodies back into center-back. Plus, Victor Vazquez continues to be worth his weight in gold, even if the Galaxy couldn't finish off several chances. But are you growing weary of Kevin Cabral? Do you think the Galaxy need to bench the Young Designated Player? Or is this all part of his learning curve? And before the guys get you updated on the game against FC Dallas, do you want to hear some breaking news? We've got a packed show for you on this Monday (holiday) night. With midweek and weekend games coming fast and furious, rebounding could be the key to getting off on the right foot for a brutal stretch of games that won't stop coming! On today's show, hosts Josh Guesman and Kevin Baxter want to take you through the busy road ahead for the Galaxy and talk about why the team should be frustrated after a loss to the Seattle Sounders on Saturday night! Josh and Kevin will start by recounting their experience at the stadium and why nothing beats having fans in the stands and getting to say hi to so many people. But then it's on to evaluating how the Galaxy played against Seattle. There's detailed talk about the formation Vanney was playing and why things didn't quite work out the way the club wanted. But there are some positives as well. And if you lump everything together, what are you left with? The guys will give you updates on Raveloson and Jonathan dos Santos and talk about the injury to Dan Steres and why it comes at a crucial time. Plus, if the Galaxy wanted to see Kevin Cabral take a step forward, Saturday night wasn't that night. But along the way, the guys will update you on standings, talk about Sebastian Lletget, Jonathan Bond, Julian Araujo, and the upcoming Gold Cup, and how many players the team things will be leaving them. Josh and Kevin will also get you ready for the game against the Vancouver Whitecaps and why it's the most winnable game of the next two, but certainly not a lock. Would a draw be good enough? It's a packed show full of Galaxy talk and opinion! And we're glad you chose us to get you through a bunch of rapid-fire games!

It is excellent news ahead of a shorthanded rivalry match that will see them host the San Jose Earthquakes on Saturday afternoon. On today's show, LA Galaxy General Manager Dennis te Kloese joins the show to talk about the Galaxy's steps moving forward, whether they are done building the roster and why the club has been so focused on mining the French second division. Plus, if you want to read between the lines, there finally seems to be an answer for the Mauricio Cuevas saga taking place down at LA Galaxy II. Why haven't we seen Cuevas since the preseason? Hosts Josh Guesman and Eric Vieira will talk about a David Beckham stat that you thought would be better, and they'll dive back into the injury to Andy Polo and a better explanation of what happened to Derrick Williams on that tackle. But they're also going to address the racial slurs and the death threats Williams has been getting on his social media. Do those with more significant platforms shoulder some responsibility for the fall-out and mob mentality? Josh and Eric will also get you ready for what should be a very interesting game against the San Jose Earthquakes. And when should fans be expecting Sega Coulibaly and Rayan Raveloson to show up? We've got an update! We've got a packed show with you before the Galaxy, and Josh, take off for a little International Break. And we're glad we could share this 20-minute interview with Dennis te Kloese. As always, we appreciate your support! Have a safe holiday weekend and enjoy the 'Quakes game on Saturday!

And it gets celebrated at least three times a year. That's right! It's the first El Tráfico of 2021, which means that your LA Galaxy will be hosting LAFC this Saturday. We're going to do what we always do and get you ready for the biggest game and the biggest rivalry in MLS. And to give us the best insight into what might be happening on the field this weekend, we've enlisted the help of Galaxy midfielder Victor Vazquez. Hosts Josh Guesman and Sophie Nicolaou talk with Victor about the role Galaxy head coach Greg Vanney has him play and what the vibe in the clubhouse is. We'll also ask him about his injury in Seattle and if he'll be available for this weekend's match. And after we're done talking to Victor, Josh and Sophie will discuss the El Trafico precursor -- El Traficito between USL sides LA Galaxy II and Las Vegas Lights. There's a lot of fun to be had watching the future of the Galaxy on full display, and we have a little hint at how that will become a regular thing on the podcast! But today's show is all about Galaxy news you can trust and about coming clean on a massive failure ahead of the Galaxy's game with LAFC. Did anyone catch the injury news ahead of the game? You didn't because nobody asked. So we'll go over some of what was said during the media call and tell you the injury concerns we have headed into Saturday's match. Finally, we've got a big game preview from the Hammer, and we get you ready for a game against a formidable opponent. But for whatever reason, we're feeling optimistic. Can the Galaxy get a win over LAFC at home? Let's find out! As always, we appreciate you joining us and remind you to stay safe at the stadium this weekend!

Vanney's Got a Plan (with Younes Bouida, Soccer New Brunswick)

The off season continues to churn and we've got a lot of story lines. We talk about Henry to Bournemouth (which is now confirmed to NOT be happening), Miami and Cincinnati making moves, and Greg Vanney's master plan to make LA, and Chicharito, good again. We also get to fill in a bit more of the Canadian youth development story with a chat with Younes Bouida, who heads up Soccer New Brunswick. After taping, we heard about the awful Jordan Morris injury, we wish him well as he begins another long road of recovery.

NEYMAR JR INJURY : NEYMAR MIGHT BE OUT OF THE SQUAD OF PSG MATCH WITH BARCELONA

Paris Saint-Germain might be without their Brazilian striker Neymar for next week's clash with Barcelona within the Champions League. The 29-year-old went off injured against Caen in their French Cup game on Wednesday night, which throws into doubt his involvement within the Barca game next Tuesday. Paris Saint-Germain striker Neymar could miss next week’s Champions League tie with Barcelona. The 29-year-old Brazilian striker had to go away the pitch injured during his side’s French Cup game with Caen on Wednesday night. Any injury would give him just days to be fit the match against his former team after being hurt within the 1-0 win courtesy of Moise Kean’s goal within the last half . After the match, Kean played down fears over Neymar’s injury, saying: “All is well, he's ready. Tomorrow, in training, he will recuperate. He are going to be ready for the match [against Barcelona].” Mauricio Pochettino was forced to require off the striker on the hour mark and was replaced by Kylian Mbappe, and therefore the injury comes just after Neymar had returned from a month’s absence thanks to an ankle injury. PSG reached the ultimate of the Champions League last season only to suffer a defeat to Bayern Munich, and have yet to win the trophy in their history. Source: Eurosport

The continued fight against online abuse, Liverpool's defensive woes worsened and another Man United stalemate

Vicky and Darren are joined by Clinton Morrison to discuss the recent surge in online hate towards footballers and what can be done to tackle the abhorrent abuse that they are subjected to on social media. Liverpool's defensive worries are worsened after both Fabinho and Joel Matip are injured, but will that lead to a deadline day acquisition? Man Utd also let a good chance to close the gap on the Man City slip away with another goalless game against a Top 6 side. Sunday Supplement is a Sky Sports podcast. Episode 184 - The AFTN Soccer Show (Laba Land with guests Sam Adekugbe and Erik Hurtado)

Has the doom and gloom been lifted in Whitecapsland? Well, just as one swallow doesn't make a summer, one victory doesn't mean Vancouver Whitecaps have turned their season around. But it's a promising sign. We look back on the 'Caps 4-2 win over LA Galaxy. The highs, the lows, and all the main talking points, blown calls, and questions the match posed. Have the 'Caps finally found their clinical finisher in Fredy Montero? Did the Kekuta Manneh trade finally give the rest of the squad the wake up call they needed? What does the addition of Tony Tchani mean to this team? And who was that in Mati Laba's shirt and what have you done with the real Mati? We'll hear from the LA losers too, from grumpy head coach Curt Onalfo, Jermaine Jones, and Ashley Cole, as LA were (mostly) brutally honest about their shortcomings. One player who never made it past half time was Erik Hurtado. We chat with the striker about his season so far and what it meant to him personally to lose his best friend in the team in Manneh. Our main player interview this week is with Residency alumni Sam Adekugbe, back in Vancouver rehabbing the injury he picked up while on loan with Brighton and Hove Albion. We chat with Sam about his time with English Championship side so far, his current injury, his frustrations, and what the future may hold in store for him. Will it be in Canada or England? And there's still time for I, Ludicrous to feature again in this week's Wavelength section and to look ahead to the CONCACAF Champions League semi-final at home to Tigres on Wednesday. Have a listen!

Episode 177 - The AFTN Soccer Show (Ready, Fredy, Go with Carl Robinson and Russell Teibert)

Carl Robinson talks about new Vancouver Whitecaps signing Fredy Montero, we sit down for a chat with Russell Teibert, and preview the CONCACAF Champions League game against New York Red Bulls.
