Maxime Crepeau celebrated a very unique Sweet Sixteen on Saturday evening in San Jose, claiming the MLS record for the number of saves in a game. Imagine how bad Saturday could have gone for Vancouver Whitecaps if he hadn't. It's a great personal achievement but a bad team one. We look back over the debacle and ponder just where it all went wrong. We lift the mood though with a very enjoyable chat with one of the newest Whitecaps, Tosaint Ricketts, as do a career so far retrospective with the striker, and boy, does he have some tales to tell. Moving away from MLS, we turn our attention to the Canadian Premier League and bring you some interesting chats. First up is former Whitecap Ben Fisk, as we talk about his move to Pacific FC and the league in general. Plus we also chat with Pacific head coach Michael Silberbauer and Valour's Rob Gale about their respective seasons so far, the run-in, and what things need to change in the CPL for year two. Plus there's the week's happenings in MLS, our latest Wavelength and BC Soccerweb headlines. This show has strong language throughout and humour that may offend. Here's the rundown for the main segments from the episode:04.00: San Jose v Vancouver Whitecaps match analysis and general 'Caps discussion37.35: Tosaint Ricketts interview51.40: Whitecaps Road to the 1979 NASL Soccer Bowl56.23: Ben Fisk interview and Pacific FC/CPL discussion79.30: Rob Gale interview and Valour FC discussion92.40: Michael Silberbauer interview106.33: Wavelength - Wardie Burns, Werd, & Butler - Sick Division111.30: BC Soccerweb headlines - news stories from around the world of football

They've only been and gone and done it. Vancouver Whitecaps won a match! Okay, so it wasn't pretty and it was against a shambles of a team, but a win is a win is a win and right now any small victories they can get should be grabbed with both hands. We look at the main talking points coming out of the victory over FC Cincinnati and the big news in Whitecapsland and throughout MLS this week. From transfers to games to suspensions and failed drug tests, there's been a lot to chat about. Keeping with Canadian club football, we chat with Cavalry FC head coach Tommy Wheeldon about their league season so far, what's made them the class of the CPL, and the need to keep it going to the championship game. Plus we look at what the future of club football in BC may look like. We also delve into the world of football board games as we chat with Marty Neill, one of the men behind the reboot of the classic board/computer game hybrid Football Fortunes, and we reveal our plans for AFTN's new video channel. All this plus Wavelength, BC Soccerweb headlines, and fun food segments with Max Crepeau, Felipe Martins, and Scott Sutter. This show has strong language throughout and humour that may offend. Here's the rundown for the main segments from the episode:04.13: FC Cincinnati v Vancouver Whitecaps match analysis22.18: What's For Lunch Felipe Martins?27.18: Whitecaps news of the week - Crepeau extends, Venuto departs, new faces imminent44.27: Anyone Fancy A Chocolate Digestive? - Max Crepeau48.58: MLS News of the Week - the weekend's matches, Torres drug ban, Petke suspension73.16: Tommy Wheeldon interview and CPL discussion87.56: The future of club football in British Columbia97.29: 1979 Soccer Bowl celebrations continue106.39: Marty Neill interview and football board game discussion128.32: Take Me Out Scott Sutter134.46: Wavelength - Grant McIntosh - Come On Livingston138.14: BC Soccerweb headlines - news stories from around the world of football

Are you hanging tough? Vancouver Whitecaps are certainly in it tough and when the going gets touch the AFTN Soccer Show gets better, and longer, and we're back this week with an absolutely jam packed two and a half hour affair! There's no doubting Marc Dos Santos has his work cut out to get this Whitecaps team up to a serious playoff contender and Saturday's latest loss to San Jose showed the gap between themselves and teams they should be beating, especially at home. We pick over the bones of the game, hear from both head coaches, and ponder where the 'Caps go from here. We also look ahead to the Cavalry FC game in the Canadian Championship on Wednesday and hear from MDS on his thoughts after the first leg. AFTN's Calgary correspondent Scott Strasser joins us to chat about the Cavs season and what he expects from them in this second leg. Plus we chat with MLS record goalscorer Chris Wondolowski, the Quakes' former Whitecap Shea Salinas, and hear from Zlatan after the LA derby. There's also lots of MLS chat and Ivor Cutler makes his first appearance in Wavelength. Despite the doom and gloom surrounding the 'Caps we have another fun filled show for you. Another busy week for Vancouver Whitecaps is in the history books. Lots of travel, lots of goals, and a four point haul from two matches was the end result and we look back at it all in this week's show. We delve into the good, the bad, and the ugly from the draw at New York Red Bulls and the home win against FC Dallas. Some good results but there's still a lot of concerns around the team's passing, creativity, and the amount of shots they're giving up, not to mention the mounting injuries as TFC head to town on Friday. We round-up what's been a busy week around MLS, look at one of the big talking points around the league this season - travel and charter flights - and bring you some thoughts on that from Philadelphia Union's Alejandro Bedoya. We also chat with Dallas' Nanaimo born draft pick Callum Montgomery about the difficulties of integrating young players into the current 'Caps team, talk CPL and USL League 2, continue our 1979 NASL Soccer Bowl celebrations, and Ed Banger is in our Wavelength section. Here's the rundown for the main segments from the episode:02.53: Vancouver Whitecaps v NYRB and Dallas match analysis and a look as some 'Caps concerns39.28: A quick look ahead to TFC and the upcoming problems caused by the Gold Cup51.14: MLS Week in Review including charters chat with Alejandro Bedoya70.25: 1979 NASL Soccer Bowl celebrations continue75.19: CPL and USL league 2 round-up83.32: Callum Montgomery interview88.42: Wavelength - Ed Banger - Kinell Tommy94.55: BC Soccerweb headlines - news stories from around the world of football

Another busy week is in the book and it was a rare winning one for Vancouver Whitecaps. At least on the pitch. Thankfully the 'Caps didn't have to send out any Mayday cries for help from Colorado, although they were made to work hard in their 2-1 win over the Rapids. We look back at that match, the main talking points coming out of it for the team and individual players, and have a quick look ahead to Portland coming to town on Friday night. We also catch up with Whitecaps right back Scott Sutter who took in Pacific FC's first ever match last weekend. We get his thoughts on the CPL, his friendships with Pacific head coach Michael Silberbauer and co-owner Josh Simpson, and chat about his own coaching plans and how it's making him look at games a little bit differently. We also look at the continuing scandals surround the Whitecaps off the pitch, plus we continue our 1979 NASL Soccer Bowl celebrations, look at the annoyance that was VAR in MLS this week, and Football Violence Awareness Month wraps up with The Men They Couldn't Hang in our latest Wavelength section. Here's the rundown for the main segments from the episode:02.39: Colorado Rapids v Vancouver Whitecaps match analysis27.37: A quick look ahead to Portland's visit36.00: Scott Sutter interview41.27: Canadian Premier League chat57.41: The Whitecaps women's team abuse allegations82.24: 1979 NASL Soccer Bowl celebrations continue86.53: MLS Week in Review - aka the weekend of VAR105.45: Wavelength - The Men They Couldn't Hang - Rosettes110.21: BC Soccerweb headlines - news stories from around the world of football
